IŽ, otok glagoljice

The Glagolitic script, the Glagolitic mass, Glagolitic singing and the entire historical phenomenon of Glagolism is a vital component of indigenous Croatian culture in the Adriatic seaboard. And this is how it is in the parish church in Veli Iž, on an island in the Zadar archipelago, where even today 90 per cent of the mass is sung in traditional Glagolitic verse, and in the standard Croatian language.
