I love your videos and your commentary is always very well spoken, however, I don’t think it was fair that you knocked points down on the build at the beginning of the video for the teal windows. If you look up the actual set that was used for filming that is on display at the studio tour, those windows are indeed teal! They are a faded color for sure, but LEGO’s teal color is the closest in their palette for accuracy.
My daughter and I are enjoying building the burrow. She is enjoying playing with the rooms but I do wish the set was a20-30% larger and all rooms were accessible perhaps with stairs
That sounds like such a great experience, building and playing with your daughter! I really wish the set had included a staircase-it would have made it feel larger. On my shelf next to Diagon Alley and Gringotts, it definitely looks small in comparison.
@@lukasthebuilder I am thinking about how to expand the set, to make it a bit larger and expand the playability. The first option is to make the front wall of Ginny and Ron's rooms open so you can access them more easily. I think if I add 2 pips to the plan for these rooms and then follow that through the house and see where that leads...
I completely disagree with you. It is an amazing set, and whatever stuff you want be included in it, is not at all necessary. It's like you are trying to find errors in it, and that feels very weird. The set was made with a lot of thought and it comprised of everything necessary, for the build to feel harry potter.. So quit trying to find faults in a build that has very less of them... An issue you could elaborate more on was the accessibility part, which was the only thing I found wrong with this set..
Thank you for your comment. I still stand by what was said in the video. I don’t think this set should be part of the Collector Edition. It doesn’t blend well with the other sets in the line, it’s far too small, and the layout throughout the house lacks logic, especially with the room design
I agree this set is too small for a collectors set, if this set was around 400eur like other HP collectors sets and packed with a lot more detail I'd probably get it
@@lukasthebuilderoh don't get me wrong it looks great :) just for me personally it's not big enough of a step up from the last burrow to feel UCS worthy
A very good review, which highlights all the sets shortcomings (and strengths). If I got this, I would probably mod/upgrade it by expanding the ground floor living and kitchen areas (which are a downgrade from the more expansive kitchen/living of set 75980), swapping the teal windows for dark green or dark brown, and possibly adding another half floor of bedrooms. I'm not sure how the stairwell would be incorporated without significantly expanding the model and blocking the bedroom accessibility. Other than the shortened height, I like the scale of the model fairly well. The biggest miss is the tiny kitchen, but I do like having all the Weasleys. Price could have been $20 cheaper for a better value.
Great suggestions to enhance the set, but I really wish the staircase had been included. As for the price, I think $200 USD would be more reasonable. At $260 USD, the set feels a bit small compared to others.
I liked that this one was a bit smaller and therefore cheaper than the big train, gringotts and the diagon alley that are all more than 400 bucks because I couldn't bring myself to spend over 400 bucks for a lego set how amazing it may be.
The use of AI to read an AI script makes this such a lifeless video. Had to stop it 1 minute in. No thanks. LEGO should help create real-life conversation and this is just lazy.
@@lukasthebuilder I don't think this has to do with hate. I too dislike artificial voices in videos, albeit they don't make me stop watching those videos (in most cases, that is, because sometimes they sound REALLY annoying ;) ).
The fact every Weasely is included is sooooo good! I looove this set. It’s absolutely perfect in scale to the other sets. Any complaints are so damn nitpicky it’s wild lmao. Gtfo dude
Yes, it’s great that all the Weasleys are included in the set, but you have to agree that the price point isn’t fair compared to other LEGO collector Harry Potter sets.
My biggest complaint is that the building isn't angled more. In the movies, it did look much more unstable, as if it would collapse. The LEGO team should at least have the building be angled in different directions.
I was so excited for this sit. For years I’ve regret not getting the 2020 burrow. And I was willing to spend the 260 for the set. But the set is just to small for the price
Whyy does interioers on lego sets have to be so freaking small you can barerly put one minifigure ???? Cant they make it a few studs larger i dont get it ?
I suppose if it were larger, it would be more expensive, so they had to make a compromise. Most of the large sets are meant to be display pieces and not really for play, which is likely why the interior space is limited. I agree with you-a larger interior would definitely be better.
Lego is focusing waaaay too much on commercial IP rather than original creations. I'd bet that ups the expense as well. Other companies are are really filling in with terrific production values and designs.
Great point! LEGO has definitely been focusing a lot on commercial IPs lately, which tends to drive up prices due to licensing fees. My favorite theme is still LEGO Ideas, but even there, sets like the Orient Express and Hocus Pocus lean into IPs, and the costs are just too high.
I'm not a crazy Harry Potter fan so this one doesn't peak my interest, but I did get the flying car and the newer Hagrid’s Hut on sale because they're both adorable.
I find Hagrid's Hut to be quite expensive for its size as well. The flying car ended up in my basket along with the Burrow because I wanted to complete the scene. I just wish it had been a gift with purchase.
@@lukasthebuilder That's the problem with a lot of these licensed sets. As a new collector, I've noticed the Animal Crossing sets have to be the worst for this, with Nintendo ones coming in second. The Animal Crossing one's don't even seem inspired.. I've seen youtube channels make way better, game accurate trees alone. At least some larger sets exist for Nintendo like the ? Block, but price points are at least $10-15 more per 100 blocks or so compared to basic Lego sets. I know that's a controversial factor to go by though 😋 but it's still more than I want to pay even for specially printed blocks or whatever! At least with Hagrid’s Hut there are quite a few cute details and there's a fullness to the inside build because of that. You also get 5 characters, and two of Hagrid’s pets so.. On sale for $92, plus an additional 15% off of purchases over $100CAD.. I got it and the flying Anglia for $108 CAD after taxes. But I wouldn't have picked it had it not been on sale. Now I need to sit on my hands because I also splurged on a white whale and now the Friends Botanical Garden is on for $80 CAD 😅 As for GWPs.. It's my understanding that there were many included with the Burrow's Collector's Edition, and that you can't get them otherwise, but still.. It may have helped the price point hurt a little less.
Harry Potter is a sub theme for my collection. So far I’ve only got the Hogwarts express collectors, all the modern hogsmeade sets (for the game), and am enjoying getting scammed with the play scale diagon alley. Was never going to get this, but when I saw it at the Lego store, I just glanced past it and assumed they had broken it up to fit inside the display box like others. But then noticed it was fully standing, the thing is TINY. They want 400 aud for it as well… smaller than expected is a sub optimal impression have to say.
I totally get your frustration-sometimes the scale of these sets doesn't quite match up with expectations, especially given the price. It’s disappointing when a set looks smaller in person than anticipated, especially when it comes with a hefty price tag.
The bedrooms look too similar-they could have added bunk beds or created shared rooms for variety. As for the other rooms, a study or library would have been a nice touch, and the attic could have been used more efficiently, perhaps incorporating the ghoul as well. The ground floor is well-designed, though it feels like a downgrade compared to the last Burrow set. The upper floors, however, are too alike. Just my opinion!
