Rivendell is better
I'm sorry but if it was all plain black it would look really blank and if it was all closed up then it would be obsolete for minifigures
They could have added more lava-colored elements instead of the grey rocks. And if the set was enclosed, they could have designed it to open up, similar to the Home Alone set.
Such a great set and so perfectly presented from you.
Thank you 🤗
Why does the voice sound AI?..
Because it's an AI-generated voice
Already bought the gotic girl for wenesday with the hairstyle she looks better. The post office I have to see in real but I like the truck.
I completely agree with your assessment of Santa’s Post Office. It’s very lacking in detail when compared to the sets of prior years.
Thank you
The post office set looks like a Duplo set from the front. The only stand out feature is the hot air balloon. The rear is very unimaginative.
I completely agree with you!
I will certainly get the Post Office and Delivery truck because I always get the Winter Village sets, although the truck looks more like a gift with purchase set. LEGO usually does 2 Christmas gift with purchase sets each year, one in late November and one in mid-December and I like to get those too. I'll probably get the poinsettia as it looks really good, but probably give it to my daughter as she collects botanical sets. She also likes the Wednesday show, but isn't interested in the sets, but I might get them for my Halloween collection if they are ever discounted.

I´m fairly new to this, so can someone please tell me why the popular A Frame Cabin retires after not even two years out, while the Tree House was out for over five years before retiring? Was the Tree House really that much popular with the buyers? Or is it about something else?
Welcome to the LEGO world! The retirement timeline for sets can vary for a few reasons. While the Tree House had an unusually long run (over five years), most LEGO Ideas sets typically have shorter lifespans, like the A-Frame Cabin. The Tree House was extremely popular, which likely contributed to its extended availability. However, set retirements can also be influenced by factors like production schedules, licensing agreements, and LEGO’s strategy to introduce fresh sets. The A-Frame Cabin's shorter run may just reflect LEGO’s desire to keep the lineup evolving.
Is the voice AI generated? There are some words in this video that are not pronounced that way. For example, the guitar brand. There are some weird issues with pacing during talking.
Yes, it is. As a non-native speaker, I can’t always check how words are pronounced, but I’ll be more mindful in the future. Thank you for your comment!
It's amazing, but 400 bucks, sheesh, we're not all Jeff Bezos you know.
I picked up the Treehouse last week - found it at a deep discount - and my son and I had a blast building it. Beautiful set that will likely be permanently on display at my house. I'm very interested in the A-Frame Cabin as well, though I don't know if I need two rustic LEGO dwellings in my collection. It is very cool looking, though, so I might look to pick it up closer to the end of the year.
I definitely think you should get the A-Frame cabin. It pairs really well with the Tree House, and the interior details are incredible! It might go on discount around Black Friday.
The A-Frame and Treehouse would be nice to own if I had infinite money. I'll have to skip on those, though.
You should definitely get at least the A-Frame Cabin. The details are stunning, and it looks incredible. Plus, it’s a bit cheaper than the Tree House. That said, the Tree House is also one of the best Ideas sets!
I think I have all of these that I'm going to get (A-Frame, Treehouse, Jazz Quartet x 2), but I've heard great things about the typewriter, and the globe and Tales of the Space Age both look great.
I’ll try to get the Jazz Quartet before it’s too late, and I’m also considering getting The Office. And yes, the Typewriter is a fantastic set!

Your voice is so soothing! I imagine it for two things: safety instructions on planes. Or a read along book for a winny the Pooh story
AI
I completely disagree with you. It is an amazing set, and whatever stuff you want be included in it, is not at all necessary. It's like you are trying to find errors in it, and that feels very weird. The set was made with a lot of thought and it comprised of everything necessary, for the build to feel harry potter.. So quit trying to find faults in a build that has very less of them... An issue you could elaborate more on was the accessibility part, which was the only thing I found wrong with this set..
Thank you for your comment. I still stand by what was said in the video. I don’t think this set should be part of the Collector Edition. It doesn’t blend well with the other sets in the line, it’s far too small, and the layout throughout the house lacks logic, especially with the room design
They killed Ice and Jay lol 😂
Awesome video, Lukas the Builder. I really appreciated your detailed insights into the Barad-dûr set! Your thoughts on the interior design and how it contrasts with Sauron's character were particularly interesting. Given the mix of elements in the build, do you think there could have been a more cohesive theme that ties the different rooms together better? Looking forward to your next upload! Keep up the fantastic work!
Thank you very much. I just wish more rooms had been connected to Sauron and his dark side. But I understand it’s LEGO, so they aim for a more optimistic approach.
You could use the front, mix it with other microscale Paris buildings, and imagine your minifigs are at a Paris fair!
👍
Looks cute...felt like continuation of the old Elf House a few years ago.
Not one for me but looks nice.
great overview. Yes, it is not minifig scale but you could pretend that it's just a small church side by side with other modular buildings rather than a gianormous cathedral.)
Yes, that’s one way to look at it, but I’m considering making it larger.
It's absolutely beautiful, definitely on my list for Christmas, to build an awesome video. Thank you! 💯🙏
It’s truly a joy to look at, but the building process wasn’t as smooth as I had hoped
@lukasthebuilder yeah I can imagine that, but I own the Eiffel Tower Set, it took me 2 days to build, and that wasn't easy, but still, I enjoyed building it despite the massive Repetition it gived.
Thank you so much for this review, great work again ! Not gonna buy the set, but deserved attention as it is truly amazing
Thank you very much

What’s the point of the side windows if it is going to next to another modular
In my city, the museum is a freestanding building, so it definitely deserves some windows on the sides as well.
still have this set in the box, sijce i hsve ni soace for it, but this review motivates memti make said soace
It’s a fantastic set to build, display, and play with, so I would definitely recommend building it!
Man this makes my wanna buy it but I’m poor😭
This is really good set but should be around 300-350 usd
For me, I found the building techniques a bit boring, especially in the lower sections. As for the price, I’m okay with it, but it was definitely a better deal when the GWP was included at launch.
no idea what lord of the rings is but thats a cool tower eye
Oh I remember when they built this in legoland and it still looks awesome and I love the minifigures unfortunately I can’t afford it myself but it still looks great
@realmsunravelled ?
Love your channel! Just bought this set today. Have had my eye on it for years. But as its retiring at the end of this year most likely, and found it at a deep discount, I knew this was the time I had to buy it.
Thank you! Yes, it’s a great set, and you’re right about it being retired by the end of this year. It’s been on shelves for a while, so I think it’s the right time for it to retire.
@@lukasthebuilder Agree. I think it came out in 2019, because I remember seeing it at a LEGO store pre-COVID. Five years is a really long time for a set to be on sale, especially an Ideas set.
Nice video. Yes Barad-dur should have been a bit taller. You can find mocs on rebrickable for it. I’ve already done a base upgrade and now I’m going to build more for the actual tower. My new barad-dur will come out to be 43 inches tall. 😄
Oh wow, that’s going to be a towering Barad-dûr!
The Dining Room seems to be based on the "There is Meat back on the Menu..."-Meme from The Two Towers. And the Meaning of the Scroll in the library (3-7-9-1) refers to the Poem about the Rings by Tolkien. Imho this set is unfortunately is about a 60% miss, i personally would have preverred a golden hall of meduseld, or a helms deep, maybe even a new orthanc?
I was also thinking about the reference "There is Meat back on the Menu," but to be honest, it’s more related to Isengard than Barad-dûr. And thank you for explaining the meaning of the scroll. Personally, I would probably prefer the battle between Gandalf and the Balrog at the Bridge of Khazad-dûm.
My daughter and I are enjoying building the burrow. She is enjoying playing with the rooms but I do wish the set was a20-30% larger and all rooms were accessible perhaps with stairs
That sounds like such a great experience, building and playing with your daughter! I really wish the set had included a staircase-it would have made it feel larger. On my shelf next to Diagon Alley and Gringotts, it definitely looks small in comparison.
@@lukasthebuilder I am thinking about how to expand the set, to make it a bit larger and expand the playability. The first option is to make the front wall of Ginny and Ron's rooms open so you can access them more easily. I think if I add 2 pips to the plan for these rooms and then follow that through the house and see where that leads...
Geat video as always 🫶 ,, since the release date of that set ( after lego ran out of fell beast gwp ) and rivendell is almost out of stock all the time at lego ! I think this answer lots of questions. 😂
Thank you
Wow, for that kind of money, you could have both mega construx castle grayskull and snake mountain with more than double the parts, better minifigs and a way better building experience.
This is the best review of this set anywhere on UA-cam!
This set I perceived differently. First the build was incredibly basic compared to the almost not Lego advanced Rivendell, and while bored for most of it, I actually appreciate it more as a rare song to building in that scale and being allowed to use bricks instead of 1x1 spares. The second is a profound appreciation of having something so large and monumental from Lego that isn’t a mainstream / goody guy symbol. That is also a very rare treasure. Did you laugh at the marketing pics with ikea furniture? Yes the interiors were forgettable and I didn’t care for the minifigs, any of them. Also if I didn’t get the fell beast… yeah maybe that is the missing special.
I agree with you about the construction being a bit boring, especially the first two bottom sections. The towers were a bit more enjoyable. When it comes to scale, I prefer Gringotts Bank over Barad-dûr-similar height, price, and brick count. As for the Fell Beast, I missed out on it because I bought the Tuxedo Cat instead when it was released. By the time I convinced myself to buy it, it was sold out everywhere, and I finally got mine by the end of August. Next year, I’ll definitely make sure to purchase it right away!

I have seeing at least 3 reviews with a Slytherin portrait in the Weasley house
$199 would have been a better price point
That’s exactly what I was thinking!
The price went wrong 😫
If it were priced closer to $200 USD, it would be much more reasonable.
Whyy does interioers on lego sets have to be so freaking small you can barerly put one minifigure ???? Cant they make it a few studs larger i dont get it ?
I suppose if it were larger, it would be more expensive, so they had to make a compromise. Most of the large sets are meant to be display pieces and not really for play, which is likely why the interior space is limited. I agree with you-a larger interior would definitely be better.
I was so excited for this sit. For years I’ve regret not getting the 2020 burrow. And I was willing to spend the 260 for the set. But the set is just to small for the price
Exactly, and I don’t see much improvement from the previous sets. Hopefully, next year’s set will be a better deal.
For me, it just looks like a larger play set and not a collectors set.
