I repaired many poly pipes with standard shark bite fittings. Been in service for over a decade. No problem. OD is the same. ID is bigger. The pressure keeps the pipe expanded. The shark bite max have no stiffeners in the non transition fittings.
Polybutylene sucks the big wazoo. I replaced about 1/3 of the hot water piping in my crawlspace due to leaks. The people who made these pipes should be forced to replace all these pipes in the millions of homes they're installed in.

I need to transition from PB 3/8" - and sharkbite does not make a 3/8" coupling.... how would you transition from 3/8" PB pipe to Pex or brass?
