Imagineers are going into the Mansion because they are working on show scene 11. There is a $50,000 permit currently pulled, it encompasses structural improvements and show set modifications at show level. Permit issued 5/1. Also they are doing work on the interior queue as well. Further look for work on the canopy, finishing basement work, and fountain walls referenced in the video to show visible signs of work shortly, which again totals a further $16 million in work. Project is picking up steam! The work on Walt's apartment balcony seems to be referenced in a permit pulled today (5/20) for electrical work and structural infrastructure for roof, catwalk and ground floor. To the tune of $300,000.

Got a short video of Tiana's in Magic Kingdom on Friday. Had water running with logs going down it, with purple lights from the cave. Looked beautiful at night.

They dump a ton of heat from the Central Chiller Plant behund the Primeval World diorama -the Steam and mist is from the water cooled condensers dumping the AC Heat into the air. The treated water in the flume is best for heat absorbing without mineral deposits into the equipment. 14:08
The water is not essential but is there for braking and cooling down the wheels.against the tracks. And if they ysed the water for Heat pumps, they can have heated water for easing the splash effect in Winter months. 😮 8:55
9:42. My guess, in the switch back queue, will be Tiana's garden and food crates. At WDW, the outside queue became a garden or "A farmer’s market [ with] fake plants in large planters". According to WDWNT. There are also crates, boxes, and a foods truck near the barn.
At 18:35 you mentioned projectors built in for the redwood creek challenge trail. I assume that these are for the villains grotto that happens during OBB, since it requires a lot of projections I assume Disney may want a more permanent setup then just taking them down by the end of the season.
Hi David, another UA-camr asked about the upgraded security check yesterday and they said it was because some people were able to sneak items in so they're being more thorough now. When I saw how long the line was yesterday, I just took the pathway to Downtown Disney and the security check there was quick.
In case you truly haven’t been to Din Tai Fung before… there is one in Costa Mesa 😅 but maybe you want to wait till the new one opens? Either way, it’s definitely great!!
Maybe permanent projectors/fixtures for the Villain's Grove at Oogie Boogie going in on Redwood Creek Challenge? Not obvious to the guest, of course, but a worthy investment based on popularity with guests. Also! Hoping they update Constance!!!! She's needed it!!!
If the Disney Din Tai Fung is half as good as Vegas, you are in for a treat. I highly recommend the pork long bao. Just make sure to add a little ginger on top.
i tested the new scanners a week ago at cali adventure and had imagineers and such watching as we tested it. we didnt test the magic bands but we did use the scanners with the barcodes for tickets/magic keys. they said that they were only testing the scanners for now and were hoping to see good results before they tested the magic band feature next.
It almost looks like those trenches dug at The Haunted Mansion line up with the existing 'Chicken Exit' off the Grand Hall? Maybe part of the ADA compliance?
FreshBaked. David, Nice to see you back in your wheelhouse this week. The photo of the trellis canopy at 25:33, is that your backyard David? I have to say Liz keeps the garden looking very spiffy. Overall an action packed construction upkeep this week. Cheers, Chris Perry.
I’ve got a few thoughts on some of the things you’ve brought up in this video: Why do Imagineers need to go inside the Haunted Mansion? If the updates are for ADA compliance, surely it’s to make sure that the new ADA entrance connects up? What are the retrofits at Redwood Creek? Probably a more permanent installation for the walkthrough experience for Oogie Boogie Bash, that can also be used for other night time ticketed events.
Plexiglass has become so triggering for people. And this change will make security checks that much more stressful and unfriendly. So frustrating to see people screw around and make it unpleasant for all.
lol as a former mansion CM.. they always have people, imagineers, engineers and maintenance crews all the time walking through… it’s nothing out of the ordinary
31:15 Where is this? Amazed that I have been to Disneyland more than a 1,000 and I still don't recognize parts of the park at different angles. What a wonderful Place.
I'm all for security upgrades. The DL Reddit group claimed pepper spray made it into the parks but rumors haven't been confirmed. I really like the way they set it up at WDW, it was so easy to go through. I wish we could have that here, or have like a Pre-Check line for those with no bags and clear bags.
They are clearly headed left to the back area of the new queue. Where are you getting the idea that they were walking to the right entering the foyer? When they update the interior of these rides they use the back entrances why would they go through the front like a rider. But you do this all the time you get over excited and actually make stuff up in your head that didn't happen
Just had my gradnite trip yesterday! I wish the mansion was open as its my favorite ride but once it reopens, im buying a ticket and riding it all day long!
With every update I like Tianna’s Bayou Adventure more and more. When Splash mountain first opened I thought, A mountain in Louisiana? Then I rode it. Great ride but the theming was kind of lame, mainly recycled “America Sings” bots. Now it’s the dome of a salt mine. Makes more sense. It’s almost as if they’ve used a kind of reverse forced perspective to make it look lower and wider. Can’t wait to see what they’re doing inside. re: the permits. Interesting that DCA’s address is on Katella.
What's the most obvious with Lincoln would be updating the animatronics to the latest version. I mean, if you have the state of the art in Tiana's...you can't just leave old Abe out in the cold.
I agree. The last time Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln was updated Disney touted that Lincoln was the most advanced animatronic in the park. For an attraction that hinges entirely on a *single* animatronic we're probably going to get a new Lincoln. Over at DSNY Newscast Jack is speculating that the show might also incorporate a new Walt Disney animatronic.
Great updates and informative content! So, last week I was fortunate to reserve and experience WALT DISNEY'S TOUR... We weren't able to visit the apartment patio and I asked why and the tour guide's response was vague. While I understand she couldn't divulge info... was wondering if you have an update on the apartment patio remodel???? "
U sure the canopy is queue space? Would that not be the wheelchair exit after they come up the new elevator? How else would those guests get around the new queue space?
I was hoping they would update the logs people sit in. You’re cramed into the person next to you with a strangers knees rubbing up against you. Kinda grosses me out. And I always bang my knee getting in and out of those logs. I love the 2 seater logs at Disney world and was hoping Disneyland would upgrade their logs. 😢
If this is true, I'll be curious to see how it looks. Maybe projection on water, which has looked ok in the past but not as epic as...a dragon puppet head on a boom 😂
@@PhoenixVic21 yeah, they said we were going to get a whole new scene with the dragon, but with all the millions they're spending on renovations; they might cheap out on us and give us the old b mode. Lol! 😆
@@leeannjacket7740 I have a feeling they're going to get it ready, either B mode or otherwise, and slowly improve/make changes again. I'm hoping a few of the newer things are taken out to get it back to the classic version. But some new scene will also freshen it up. I could easily see more princesses and a villain bit where it tends to get a little slow. Old version had Pinocchio that was removed. They need to fill that in better
It would be cool for the haunted mansion if they would have a clear sheet of plexi glass on the exterior roof with a white surface to project the projector on and reflect onto plexi glass. During the night time on the roof, you could have a lighting bolt projecting looking like its hitting the mansion roof or have a ghost appear and disappear. Do this at random times. Do it every once in a while so it gives the guest to say hey did you see that moment. See what? Give them a chance to see a new hidden discovery that you don't see all the time. Get it out there on social media and create hype where people are trying to capture the random event.
I think Universal will build the entire Epic Universal before Disney finishes the Adventureland restrooms. 😂

They need a Ramp Up to Ground level for the Scooter pathway. Out of the Elevator and Crypt door. 23:24
I'm guessing the projectors permit for Redwood Creek Challenge is for Villain's Grove during Ooogie Boogie Bash.

It's under the haunted mansion. If anything, it will be Spook-tacular!

I believe the stage covering extension is for the stage at Tiana’s. The concept art shows it being open towards the old courtyard.
That makes sense. 35 square feet is quite small for a roof extension.
13:18 Great Moments adding Anamatronic Walt Disney!!!
Or the hologram Walt from the Disney 100 touring exhibition.
Thanks Dave. Now I will be able to sleep at night.

Projectors in Redwood Creek are for Villians Grove OBB. Question mark?

Did security get assaulted? That's my guess; if they need a screen.
In the basement will house the castmember break room, two bathrooms, a electrical room & the ada elevator.
