    She is correct about Spiritual and emotional coming first, then the other clutter will be taken care of. It is truth. Thank you.

    This is the best video I have seen on paper clutter. Thank you! I watched lots and lots of paper clutter videos trying to figure out what to do and after watching yours I have a clear plan of action!

    Thank you. In some ways, describing yourself, described me and thus my clutter. All yesterday, I gathered all the paper in my living room and found I had 4 years of Misc. Tax information scattered and mixed together. I also had art inspirations for a painting or two. I also understood what someone said....take a photo and see how it looks, so you know what other people see. I am finding my old files and putting the papers away! My sense is laziness. But, the spiritual and Emotional clutter maybe issues I must explore. Thank You.

    It is interesting that you start with what you don't want. Marie Kondo, in her popular book, says to start with what you DO want, what brings you joy, and get rid of the rest. Completely different approach.

      I do a little of both. I try to pick through stuff fairly quickly the first time through. When I find something I love, I certainly keep it. When I find something I really don't want or don't need, I let it go one way or another.
      Anything I can't look at and decide right away goes into the sort later box, or the sort later part of the closet or where ever I'm working at the time.
      I find I can clear out quite a bit of space quickly that way. Then I'll know what I've got to work with in terms of storage and stuff so I can deal with the rest of the things at a slower pace.

      @@tinahochstetler2189 Sounds good! I think I do it that way too. Some decisions are quick, and others take awhile. Last night on the news, they said that Goodwill centers are getting a lot more donations due to Marie Kondo! lol

      Yes, but she came before there were any processional organizers. I heard some of her other interviews and she says the question to ask is does this help me accomplish my work or enjoy my life? If not, then by definition it is clutter. Whereas Kondo recommends you ask yourself does this spark joy.

    I have a 4 crates, 1 for me paperwork, 1 each for my 2 daughters everybody has their own file crate. 1 for my tools with 1 tool box don't fit, 1 for my antiques stuff/decorates stuff small/medium items. I thinking of ways for more space for small space I guess I should say.

    Do I have to shred Mail credit card applications? Also must I shred prescription labels and prescription papers from the pharmacy? Thank you!

    • @thepapertigerlady
      @thepapertigerlady 6 років тому +4

      I do shred credit card applications, but I don't prescription labels and papers from the pharmacy. I'm sure there are people who would say you should do both. My feeling is that you need to do what makes you feel most comfortable -- but MOST importantly, figure out a SYSTEM (Saving You Space Time Energy Money) for what you are going to do to make it as easy as possible.

      I use a black sharpie to block out my name and all info on my prescription bottles and then recycle them. I burn all credit card applications.

    So, as a millennial:
    This woman basically is Beyoncé go came to Coachella in 2018.
    Bitch turned it out.
    Everything she said is amazingly thoughtful, provocative, and realistic.
