Gods the writing was strong then.
You want to know the horrible truth? I can't even remember what good writing looked like. I only know it was the one thing I ever wanted. D&D took it away from me, and seven kingdoms couldn't fill the hole they left behind.
They don’t tell you how they all ass pull, they don’t hint that part in the show.
Jack Murphy comment of the year
We haven't had a good story in 4 seasons. Character death's doesn't give you a good story and that's all this show is now. Character deaths and bad dialogue and CGI and raising the budget. Sometimes I don't know what holds it together.
lol k.... the voice actor at 5:00-5:30 sounds like hes about to start laughing...
Hearing Tywin talking about white walkers is crazy and epic
Not all highborn in the watch were disowned or on the wrong side of a conflict. Many were younger sons with nothing to inherit or just wanted battle glory in peaceful times. Or just pissed off the wrong person, deflowered a highborn lady etc.
I wonder how Tywin would have reacted to a 1000% sure thing proof of white walkers and undeads and all of that... he is skilled but he is also extremely logical, so i believe that may break him.
prolly dooming the world by trying to use it against his enemies but still keep himself safe
just like every other idiotic leader
Humans have this amazing ability when he comes to things they don’t understand: Kill it with fire!!
@@erikthomsen4768 killing it with fire is the best solution when it comes to white walkers
I think you watch to much anime, normal people are not angsty teenagers.
I’m sure if king Robert, Lord Eddard and Lord tywin were alive when John snow came with a captured walker, they would unite the whole of Westeros to fight the long night.
Tormond: "Southerners that kneel to a pig if your daddy did" 🤣😂😂
13:22 This. This is so much more mysterious and creepy that making the white walkers some zombie terminators in the show..
They're said to be almost invisible too. Like ice wraiths. Instead we got draugrs. Which look more embarrassing than frightening. Oh well.
100% would love to see where the whole mysterious/ethereal corpse bride thing plays out in the books because I really hope that wasn't a one-time thing.
So glad I found this channel. Watching these videos and re-reading all the books we have to cleanse my memory and mind of the show's current season.
BDollScream Felt the same way... The show is quite a disappointment...
Its has its downers....but over all hasnt been to bad. This next episode will either make it or break it lol.
Jonathan Hamilton Definitely broke it
The show has been a disappointment since Season 5, so I don't know why everyone is complaining about the last season or two.
This was taken from another channel. "Fire and Blood" its basically the actors doing cosplay with better pics
If only GoT had 10 seasons
And better writers.
HBO wanted more,GRRM wanted more but no Dumb & Dumber ruined it all
HBO offered them 10 seasons
George RR Martin said the books have content for at least 12-13 seasons
Or was animated like castelvania the animated series
I love that Lord Commander Mormont reads the oath
I often wonder how king Robert, Ned, Tywin, stannis, roose and Ramsay, and many of the others that didn’t make the final seasons to witness the night king and army of the dead and three full grown dragons would’ve reacted
Especially ned , he killed a nights watch soldier for abondoning his post and didn't believe his claim of whitewalkers returning
@@figaro198 Even if he believed him, he was still a man who had broken his vows, no one should be treated differently, Ned did what he had to do
Robert would have jizzed himself in happiness, because he'd finally have a war to fight
Charles Dance is just top tier. The role of Tywin was meant for him.
Couldn't agree more! Lord Tywin; Westeros' _Shadow King_ is #1!
But Tyreion, Jaimie & Cersei are A close 2nd, via actors _"made for the role"_ right? Anyhow Lannister's were the Best! Followed by Melisandre & Stannis.
> And what happened when Stannis & Tywin were out of the picture for good? The saga's intensity & the HBO show's overall arching antagonist VP decreased by like 75% (maybe more). Than when Both of the Bolton's were out the picture, it dropped again, like another 15%. Meaning only like 10% of an actual antagonist "threat" remained on the show.
Than there was the Fake Night King (who was like 8% of the remaining 10) who never pulled through anyway (unlike _The 'Knights King'_ & what an HBO blunder, not spending A 65mnts flashback epsd on the whole 13th Lord Commander story SMH)..
And than there's 'Little Finger', who was like 1% of A threat to The protagonists heroes (you knew Pieter was A red hearing).
> Same w/ the Crow's Eye. Who'll I'll say was the other final 1%, because the acting & writing for him was so lackluster & not believable!
And lastly the Queens.
_______
The _Queen of Thorns_ 0%, She was only their to stir high court drama, not wage war against the Starks or Dany.
> Same w/ Cercei, A 0% threat! She never sold me as being A major Threat to the protagonists. A great actress indeed, but obviously wasn't sht when Tywin got pulled from the board. Plus "The High" Sparrow & his zealot faith militant proved how weak she was by sacking her throne, the week after Tywin was buried.
The Nights Watch segments have always been my favourite story in the show and the books.
Night gathers and now my watch begins, it shall not end untill my death, i shall take no wife, hold no lands father no children, i shall wear no crowns and win no glory, i shall live and die at my post, i am the sword in the darkness , i am the watcher on the walls, i am the shield that guards the realms of men i pledge my life and honor to the nights watch for this night and all the nights to com
You forgot the horn to wake the sleepers.
I am BATMAN!!!
And I am IRONMAN!
You knelt as boys now rise as men of the watch
Thinking about the Nights watch reminds me that Ned Stark was going to take the black. I wonder how thing's would have been.
Ned and Mormont leading the nights watch against the undead at the fist of the first men sounds cool
Well Jon would have certainly learned his parentage way earlier.
Rose Leslie’s voice is just… mmm chef’s kiss 🤌🏼 Gave me goosebumps
Anyone else go from seriousness to happy when Sam started talking!?
Six years later an I’m STILL excited by this narration. Well done! 😊
It's starting to snow as I'm watching this... Creepy. Winter is here in Montana.
Better find the AR15 Lightbringer
Mon-fucin-tana. The last best place, the only place I call home. People are more than welcome to visit and spend some good money. But please dont stay. The bears will eat you. The deer and elk will implae you ass.
Did the snow stick? It snowed here, in Indiana, but it all melted due to a shift in the weather.
Are u surprised it's snowing in December in Montana :))
Beware blue eyes.
Rose Leslie/Ygritte 's voice is so hooooot 🔥
you are right bro!!
joseph niño iioo99990000
Such a beautiful voice
She is great at that Northern accent even tho it is nothing like her own.
She’s a dirty Northern bitch
Ygritte
I think the first Night Watchers are better swordsmen than any Westeros has ever recorded in the history because, they fought the Nightking with his army of Undead, Giant spiders, Giants and others and they still won! 😃
GOT had potential to go for 20 seasons if DnD weren't incompetent
Thank you for this extended exposure to the lore of the Night's Watch. I've been following the saga mostly via UA-cam and Wikipedia and gained some familiarity with the doings in the south. Had no idea of the Wildlings' perspective. GRRM paints in grays, so I know characters and groups are complex and cannot be pigeon-holed as good or evil, black or white.
Re-watching this makes me happy and sad at the same time.
Do tell...
Charles Dance's voice
I wish Jon Snow had some to narrate😔
I do like this though
Jon snow "i know nothing" the end would be a short video ;)
this is my favorite story of game of thrones....
its so good to hear Tywins voice
Maybe that’s how Brandon the Breaker got his name. He broke his promise to free them after they helped defeat the Night King.
The Night's Watch had some damn good fighters in their ranks...Ser Alliser Thorne, Benjen Stark, Yorik, man those guys knew how to swing a sword...
this is so good, I can watch it all day!!
I know it's a magical wall, but there should be no trees within dozens of miles because of the permanent winter around the wall. I live in the arctic circle and we get nice summers, but there's no trees higher than 30 inches.
guess thats why they call it the haunted forest
It’s not permanent winter in the books
This is absolutely fantastic. Thank you so much.
Jon Snow may have known nothing, but he found the loophole to get him out of his Night's Watch oath!
That's the only purpose too
John snow maximally has violated the oath from his Night's watch😂
Mew_Boy 33 how so? The nights watchmen are pledged to serve until their death. And he did in fact die
@@Nikowgreek But what about before he died
Jon abandons his post to help Robb, tries to kill Allisor multiple times, sleeps with Wildling.
Your honour in defence Ygritte is a 10
These are all soooo good Its amazing with the voices
Yall out her say how hot ygritte sounds but i can listen to sam all day
Sam's voice is soothing af 💯😎
Back when Samwell thought Mance Rayder was their the danger lol
And now their watch has ended.
Beautiful work...great job 👍🏽👍🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Maker's Bones...That hurt!
Great voice for things like this.
The thing about combining the culture of the Thenns and the Ice-River clans in the TV show always pissed me off. You are literally taking the most advanced and sophisticated clan/culture of the free folk and combining it with the LEAST advanced and most barbaric/savage of the free folk and expecting it to make perfect sense. Like, yeah, some pretty advanced societies still had self-mutilation/scarring and still had cannibalistic customs, sure, but they sure as fuck weren't as brutal or savage as the Thenns in the TV show were. Whoever approved that writing decision should get a swift kick up the arse.
You know nothing Tywin Lannister.
This is like a bed time story
the Rangers, the Builders, and the Stewards
Oh god i love this so much !!!
Watching while waiting for episode 3
Same😋
and it’s was anti climatic
In real life the nights watch is the french foreign legion.
Except they're less insane and more British
Would be more likely the Roman legionnaires who served at Hadrian’s wall
It’s funny that generations of people dedicated their lives to defend a wall that took 10 seconds for the thing it was built to keep back to destroy it
Had to rewind it at 10:07 because I thought the damn flies were real lol
TIN FOIL TIME: @5:15 - Tywin’s voice says “the fearless warriors of *the first Night’s Watch* ...“ while we see what many believe is an illustration of *the last hero and his 12 companions*
Most believe the Nights Watch started *after* the last hero and his companions took on the Others. Let’s suspend the cannon for a sec and imagine that the first Night’s Watch was the last hero and his gang, like Tywin’s narration says ->>This means the Last Hero was the first Lord Commander of the first Night’s Watch, assuming he was their leader. We also know the Last Hero was the last of this group to survive.
What if he wasn’t in charge of this group of 13 when it was formed? What if, as they died off one-by-one the Last Hero was never put in charge of the remaining group? ->>When this guy is the only one left, he would be the de facto Lord Commander of the first Night’s Watch, of which one person remains -himself. *This would make him the 13th Lord Commander = The Night’s King*
I hope this isn't serious
@nicholasoneal1521 There's a lot of evidence to suggest that Azor Ahai (Who might be the Last Hero, although that could be another persin) and the Night's King are the same person, and that Azor Ahai wasn't exactly a good person. Well, at least in the books.
Dave and Dan 2018 "we had to wrap the show up to get on to something else"
Dave and Dan 2024: "can i have a job please"
" You are all southerners to me" - Joffrey Baratheon.
ygritte made this video
So how many defenders group has there been in fiction, particularly "started as badass but decayed"?
The closest thing I can recall is Stigmata Garrison from Fading Suns, even if they are the few groups to have advanced and irreplaceable technology (power armors and cloaking devices) and quite well-maintained, especially under Alexius Hawkwood (Ned Stark but enough political shrewdness).
And there's the Rangers of the North, but their issues were attrition-based due to their independent nature.
Not exactly a defender group but decaying is a major theme in Tolkien's works.
The Black Company goes through this issue many times throughout their series. Additionally they encounter several armies & cults that are the same way.
You basically describe the entire realm of gondor.
Good, u give the information of the teller at the description 👍
Say what you may about Ser Alliser Thorne, hard ass, ignorant, hard or mean, but he is what the watch really needs, he may be misguided by his experience on the wall during his time but a man like that who knew the true threat would be indispensable. P.s. he was right about wat the watch Needed in a leader but his ignorance to the real threat made him oblivious to the fact that John was that man
Oh how little you knew Tywin Lannister
"Now they just come back." Talk about chilling
Pun not intended but very much enjoyed
George RR Martin is one of the greatest literary world builders ever.
He’s not all that great he stole half his ideas from lord of the rings and the work of Tolkien.
Both he and Tolkien are pretty decent, but I just... don't like how GRRM kills off half the characters. Like... for some who make dumb mistakes, sure, but others really have no reason.
@@Angrod98 Which ones?
I miss the part about the hoar commander who stayed at his post when his brother was killed at harrenhal.
is there a video like this for the house of black & white?
What a great video
Anyone else thought the free folk speech was exceptional?
So Skyrim was before the wall?
Hahaha
😂
The white walkers just sound like drauger to me 😂
GEORGE R.R. MARTIN started writing the books in the 1990s. So Elder Scrolls and World of Warcraft plagiarized his work.
@@Cosmic_Gogito Actually no. All of them drew inspiration from the same source.
Thank you
@tywin BOY WAS HE WRONG
well done
Hi on de wall , of the Kings that are gone , Jenny would dance with her ghosts
I wonder what the season 8 Histories & Lore will contain.
Hopefully all the bits of storyline that were missing from season 8
Where is this taken from?
Yggrite tho...
Are some of these recordings of the actual actors like littlefinger?
@Criminal Content really?
I think it's ai
@@user-vu6bi2jr8gthis was before ai, thia is from bluray special
Wow Just wow
if only in total war Warhammer i would build a wall to fend off the forces of chaos from the north. i wonder if that would prevent the end times.
Before suggesting the expensive and probably not effective.
1. it's expensive (Though Mazdamundi--a geomancer who can cast a land bridge or destroy a city with a clap--would be suitable, he is more interested in resegregating the world into species in their designated spots than actually helping people). 2. Didn't count Sea-borne invasion (remember Norsca are sailors). 3. Orgies and cults in the Empire (consider that nobles and rich people keep summoning Slaaneshi daemons).
Book : The children of the forest and the first men fought together to push back this terryfying alien-like race that came from the lands of ever-winter.
Show : The children of the forest created them as some kind of terminator-ish weapon by stabbing some dude in the chest in order to kill the humans they were at war with for some reasons.
The show is the beginning and the book is the end of the white Walker's origins.
The Children of the Forest were literally hiding from the Last Hero, who was searching for them to find a way to stop the Others.
If that isn't a red flag as to the Origins of the Others, then I'm not sure what is.
"Southern King in our castle" - 26:02. Who is he referring to?
csdr0 Stannis when he posted up at the wall.
Who did the drawings for this vids?
HA! Tormund's giant's milk story!!
Is there audiobook of these narrations
where r the rest of videos
Iron from Ice
awsome. I though there was only castle blavk
Imagine if the war never started and it was the 7 kingdoms against the white walkers what damn battle that would be 🤘

What's this from? Is this an audiobook of some companion book?
I can't confirm it, but I think it's from the blurays or dvds
@@ThePunikaTV is right.
Proof Game of Thrones would have been better as animated
My favourite is the one where Tywin completely violates the NW LOL
I came here because somebody said on a different video that, as long as the Nights Watch holds the oath, the wights dont attack them. Is there any validity to that and can anyone direct me to a video stating and explaining that?
Not to my knowledge, though the magical power behind oaths and brotherhoods are a frequent thing.
The Books even invalidate this since Jon was strangled by a Wight back in book 1 (not an Other though) and he hadn't broken any part of his oath, in spirit or otherwise.
Wait, the show doesn't mention the Night Queen did they cut that out?
Nights king and his queen aren't connected to the night king who was made for the show
@@victormanyeruke9997 Thank you
