I have seen and been on several manufacturers test courses. But this one takes the cake. Now lets see GM, Ram and Jeep do the same. I was very impressed with what I saw.
Wow! I saw a lot of haters in the comments section of the Ford Tremor announcement video, about Ford's choice of shocks and suspension setup for the Tremor.

Ram Power Wagon has the winch standard equipment. Not like ford 3000 dollar option. and its a cleaner look. plus sway bar disconnect with locking front & rear diff
Neat point around 8:30 regarding why Ford decided not to go with a disconnecting sway bar like the powerwagon.
I do a lot of dirt work in rock quarries. These conditions and worse are an everyday thing. I drive a 2014 f350 Srw. It’s a pretty harsh ride. Recently tested a 2020 f250, big difference in ride quality. Now looking at a new f250 tremor.

That looked like a pretty fun course, JD. Regarding the synthetic winch rope, everything I have found online indicates it doesn't store any energy and so no winch blanket is needed. Safety is one of the main benefits of synthetic. Definitely needed for steel cable though.

"Ballard power" I think is the technical term for pulling with a winch/tow boating. "Tensil strength" for the breaking point of the coiled steel line.
Pretty impressive for a heavy duty 3/4 ton truck.
I bought a 2020 Tremor the first month when they came out im very impressed with the truck over all. I haven't taken it off road to much but it walks right though what I have done so far. And it tows our camper that weights 8500 pounds with no problems. The 7.3 gas is a beast! I would love to add the Whipple charger but can't afford the cost. But maybe some day! Nice off road course love to drive it if they would let you!
Learn left foot brake, right foot gas pedal off road, and on many older trucks you could use the hand actuated e brake (especially on stick shift trucks) to drive over large rocks smoothly. Many off roaders know what I am talking about. It helps for quads, dirtbikes, side by sides, etc. In modern trucks hill decent and crawl modes do it for you, but it is a good skill to know how to use gas and brakes in conjunction to get many desirable effects. Many skilled folks can also use right foot toe on brake and heel on gas with left foot on clutch and right hand on e brake left hand on steering, to get all kinds of fun from and old Toyota or Nissan mini truck. Ah, the good old days!
All 4×4 trucks should come with an
e-locker instead of it being a add on feature

Pretty awesome, I had a power wagon and it would do extremely well in those conditions! Amazed to see how ford got rear lockers for the f250! They made a solid truck!! I think that’s my next purchase!

Nice that they put a winch as an option but why would they put the electric plug connector AND the free spool selector knob, both, one on one side and one on the other side??? If u get in a pickle and NEED a sideways nudge, that crap will be in the way of the synthetic line!

That’s great capability, but honestly I would never abuse a 60k+ truck off-road like that. Unless it was Ford’s event like that. I have a 16’ f250 diesel and only go off road on field roads at the worst.

Nice ride going through the course. Not sure I would do it given my fear of heights when you were close to the edge of those drop offs.
On the REVan Evan channel here on YT, they do a tear down of the 7.3
gasser engine to see what it's made of and report they got "just under"
600 HP with a cam swap and a new intake manifold.

Hey JD, did you run into Andre from TFL Truck while you were at that event? Your video was much more in depth on the actual course that Ford had set up there. Andre said the course was pretty gnarly, but you certainly showed it! Kind of surprised me how much a manufacturer was willing to let others push their new trucks.

if you do a lot of off-roading diesel is not the way to go . turbo diesel don’t like to idle for a long time . that is why all of our fleet trucks is now a 7.3 gas engine

you don't need a winch blanket, there is almost no force on that line, lol. a 3k# winch can pull that truck easy!
I looked at a 2020 F-250 Tremor Package. Unfortunately I only had time to drive by the lot and stop and walk around it. Came back the next day and it was gone. Should of taken the rest of the day off and test drove it and bought it on the spot. And it was the color I wanted. I have a 2021 on order.....

Nice video. Overall, like the Tremor package. Is it just me, or does 70' seem a bit short for a winch line?....except for this demo? Only say that because as a 17 year old, I took my 57 F100 open rear out to the woods and across a stream. On the return sunk a bit into the bed of the stream. It wasn't deep but bed was soft. A guy with a dump truck and winch with 150' cable got me out but he needed every inch of it as he was too big to get closer. 😂

Serious question. Just learned of the tremor package. Do people really take it off-roading? I wouldn't think a long wheel base would be ideal. Who is the target audience for this truck? Dont get me wrong I love what I saw and want to go test drive one now but just not clear on its purpose. Any help please? Seriously asking for guidance.

Question if you get a 450 or 4500 do you have to have commercial insurance on it I know the tags cost you more and that’s neither here or there I was just wondering If you need commercial insurance on it because it’s a medium duty truck

Wow big deal! You dragged that KW over hard pack with just the parking brakes engaged, that of course only lock the rear axles! That’s nothing like pulling it out of a stuck in mud trick! or even up that hill! Then you drive up and down a hard packed hill like many I’ve driven over in two wheel drive in my Colorado with stock Wranglers and not DuraTracs. Over those rocks was cool, but nothing any Ram PW could not. Yes it’s a nice truck, but other than those rocks an possibly that washout I know my lowly Colorado could get through. I would love to see that Tremor follow a ZR2. Plus I’d like to see how a TrailBoss 1/2 Ton an HD AT4, go through the same areas

No. Not even close. The tires alone would drive the price up significantly. Plus the LSD up front as well as the other changes to the suspension wouldn't provide the same bang for the buck
