If there was one suggestion I could make for these reviews, it would be for the Employees category to be renamed to something like Employees/People or Mountain Vibe. That way even if the employees that you interacted with were mid, if the locals made the vibe of the resort really great, then you can factor that in rather than just being forced to give an arbitrary score of 5. Of course Employees should still factor into this score but this category would now be able to fully reflect the vibe of a ski resort (which I think is kinda what the employee category as it currently stands is trying to do, but this would do it better).
My dude!!!! I’m so happy you enjoyed Snowbowl!! I’ve been telling ya for a few years you’d love it haha. Kyle being here makes it that much better!! Can’t wait to see ya back out in AZ my dude!!
Ya, I was a wee bit suprised on that one, seeing as most of the year you will have clear sunny days, even with fresh powerder, the view is fantastic year round, so average, nah.
I'm glad you showed up for a good pow day, but you missed out on the sweet grand canyon view off in the distance. And if you thought the snow was good this season, last season we had over double the snowfall...
Local to this mountain now which is super awesome, the best days are when I-17 get closed and the Phoenix people can’t come up, especially weekdays. Last season I got 34 days of skiing in, with more than half of those being days I would show up to the mountain latest 9:30, leave the mountain at 12:30, have skied at least 10,000 vertical feet, usually more like 14-16,000, and then be back home to make myself lunch by 1:00! It’s an incredible place to go skiing, considering it’s in AZ
My home mountain. 27 years riding here now. Its been fun watch it develope but 15 years ago, it was truely something special. No lift lines and epic powder. Stoked on the score and this series! Shred on!
Snowbowls is fun for the mountain riders its a lil bland as far as terrain but you hit those trees its a whole new world.. The Park of you go on a day its open is probably one of the best parks in the country idk what AZ does but the park workers are next level Forsure a must hit if you love park.
Great review Buckhouse, as a local I think you nailed in on most of these categories. Only thing I disagree with is your score on the views, it may not have been as visible when you went but you have views from very high up at Snowbowl. You can see the city of flagstaff, the forest go all the way out forever on one side, and bits of the Grand Canyon on the other.
One awesome thing about Snowbowl is that they have shuttle services from Phoenix! Additionally they have park-n-ride services in flagstaff through the mountain express shuttle! Also most people don’t know that they have another amazing shuttle that will take you from Hart Prarie restaurant/ base area up to the Agassiz Lodge restaurant/ Gondolas! I personally think the practice area is an amazing area for beginners, you def gonna go back!!
When you go back on a clear day, you can see the Grand Canyon from the top of Agassi. View rating should be higher because of this, IMO. Keep Evolving 👌👊
You could add a new category - crowds/lines. For AZ Snowbowl i would give it a 2-3 because anytime there is even a hint of fresh snow 5 million people from Phoenix are there, super high population density for the low acreage available. BTW, wind closures are also common on the stormy/pow days.
The worst thing about the snowbowl is when it snows, they close. The gondola closes every time the snow is good because let's be fair; that lift is not setup for the weather. But this goes back to the employees, they're great and even tell you everything what is happening with the lift and give you updates without even asking. One of the people that works on the lift explained exactly why it has issues on the ride up with us just asking him about his job and what he does. He stated its mainly one of the last few towers being unstable in higher wind due to not being a double roller, ie the line falls off when loading on high wind days. Matter a fact I was there on one of the days it had fallen off the tower on loading I was told they're going to be fixing it this season, but previous seasons it was definitely shitty to say the least. Also the bowl hike is extremely easy and gives you plenty of rad options say you aren't able to complete it. The back country is AMAZING, but the hike sucks to come back up unless you have a car to retrieve you.
You only gave a four for the views up at the mountain ? how can you even do that if you haven't seen it because it's fogged in maybe you should just leave that out if you cant see it
Snowbowl price gouges everyone in the state! More snow = more expensive and they were the most expensive resort in the US last year. Avoid at all costs!
@@shawnsmith3741 so just because people want to ski on the weekend they should pay more? What advantage for the customer does snow owls price gouging have?
There are 400 acres to ski. With 4 million people 2 hours south. Think about Denver to all resorts around there within the same drive. Denver has half the people and 100x the terrain. If prices didn’t change you wouldn’t be able to go anywhere
@@drewhalley9782 Arizona snowbowl isn't the only resort in Arizona. There's mount lemon and greer as well. You could also drive to the LA area for skiing or South Colorado or New Mexico. It's impossible to justify the price that Snowbowl charges for the average person.

view getting a 5 is wild, you can see the grand canyon!
🤷🏼♂️
Ya, I was a wee bit suprised on that one, seeing as most of the year you will have clear sunny days, even with fresh powerder, the view is fantastic year round, so average, nah.
Another cool thing you can buy a season pass from Sipapu or pajarito or even snowbowl and hit up like 11-12 different resorts with it!!
I'm glad you showed up for a good pow day, but you missed out on the sweet grand canyon view off in the distance. And if you thought the snow was good this season, last season we had over double the snowfall...
This is my home resort and it’s really awesome except for how freaking busy it is now
You can see into the Grand Canyon from the top on a Bluebird. Pretty epic minus mountain ranges.

You can actually see the grand canyon from the top too! Way off at the horizon to the right when you're looking down the mountain

next season you should head to bogus basin again. they get really good powder and they have some fun runs too

You can see the Grand Canyon from almost anywhere on the mountain during a clear day.
That’s sick! Now I am sad lol

3 days at Loveland with snowbowl pass

I was just there the last 2 days. Too bad I wrecked my knee at Mt Lemmon on March 9th.
89 is probably the lowest you can get a pass though, on a storm day it can be up to 200
$19 is the lowest.
@@shawnsmith3741 yea at the end of season on a weekday.. most people do work and can’t make it on a wendsday or Thursday.. that’s why they discount it
Nice vid
I am the RainMaker. I will refill Lake Mead and end the North American drought. Enjoy.

Starts at $19 and is based off the number tickets sold. Only procrastinators pay more. Every resort should work like snowbowls system.

@@shawnsmith3741 also you cant seriously be defending a honestly C tier resort that charged $350 a day over a powder weekend.
