He doesn’t have the only one my friend. Ronald Davis, owner of BSN trucking Glade Hill Va bought a brand new Gold Nugget numbered truck 1978 EXTENDED HOOD W/V-8 cat from Truck Enterprises (KW dealer) in Roanoke Va in 1978 from salesman Ed Quin. Fact !! This guy is misinformed or lying.. FACT!!
If I ever get my 379 back together from redoing the interior and get to shows it’s going to be a open house for the people who don’t have the opportunity to see what it’s like inside a big truck and to see kids smile when they climb inside
Thats awsome. I drove one for a while back in the 80s . Cool trucks. My brother in law owned it and bought new and had a fleet of kws all painted that way. I bought the last one which was a 97 w9L and wish idve never sold it.
Anybody else wish trucks and trucking would go back to these days ? I remember riding in dads cab over when I was a kid . Trucking sure has changed and not for the better
Every industry is going through this. It’s all consolidation of power and wealth with political corruption sprinkled in. This will continuously get worse and worse until a complete collapse and civil war. You can try and start to run a small fleet and make something for yourself but the laws are so screwed up and lawyers so hard on truckers that you will lose it. I run my own authority and business separate from my personal taxes and banking. I pay myself what I’m worth. If someone decides to crash into my truck and sue me for their health bills they can have the truck. I’ve made enough money I can start something else with less risk. It’s not like it used to be.
Hold on to these trucks no paper hands allowed!! With North America finally appreciating your services these 💎GEMS💎 will hold their value+.SHOUT OUT THE TRUCKERS!! THANK YOU TRUCKERS!!! FLORIDA has more work than ever before!! Lets go brandon!
INCORRECT INFORMATION!! Ronald Davis, owner of BSN trucking Glade Hill Va bought a 1978 Extended hood Gold Nugget w/V-8 Cat 13spd with torsion bar suspension 246” wheelbase Brand new from Truck Enterprises Roanoke Va. It was a numbered Gold Nugget extended hood in 1978. You can call him and he’ll provide photos when it was new. They built the Gold Nugget from ‘’77 to ‘80 in limited runs. That’s a Fact
Happy birthday 🎂 and your family are from a dying breed and reminds me of my dad. I’m disabled now but a 3rd generation trucker with a few million miles under my belt. Great video and I miss that life and my father, thanks 🙏 ❤😮for your hard work making this content
Last month i saw one of those sold in an auction in livistong lousiana in henderson auction for 6,000.00 dlls. Cat 3406 a 13 speeds with. A swap mack camel back axle 44 and a ramsey winch 70000lbs. Kw 900 a long hood 1980 looks good the truck black color
Untrue claims.. Ronald Davis of BSN trucking Glade Hill Va bought a brand new extended hood V-8 Cat from Truck Enterprises Roanoke Va in 1978. This guy is full of crap.
Good show man, love the feature of the rare truck ! Let's get you to 200k subs ! Shits hitting the fan in your industry and they deserve more representation ! Keep on keeping on brotha 💯
I wanna say that I’ve seen him or another one maybe was a short hood running down in the boothill of Missouri runnin 25hwy with a hopper bottom. Slick truck
That engine has the deeper timing cone like the later 425 ATA'S Had. My 400b had the shallow cone like the early model "b"s had could that be a air to air converted to water cooled?
Interesting the dual shocks on each front corner, was that original or optional to KWs? only saw single shocks before. What is the length of the hood itself?
My 76 w900a came as a 245 and I've always thought about shortening it to 225 because it would get around better for what i'm using it for but I just bought a shorter 81 w900a instead because I like keeping them original.
For a truck that is supposed to be a one of one truck it doesn't have the original motor . I think it was stretched afterwards.. thats why its a work truck. Its not what he claims it to be
Making this truck was not a mistake, most were regular size hoods and some were extended. It was the king of it's time because in most trucks were still cabovers and K W always had more options and luxuries than others
The gold nugget series was supposed to be a regular hood. This one slipped through the cracks and was the only extended hood golden nugget series Kenworth. Pay attention to the video

Love it when someone actually uses and enjoys a truck or vehicle instead of putting ropes around it with signs that say DO NOT TOUCH!!!
😇🤗

I still love the old W9 A, best looking trucks ever
Yesss
I’d love to go fishing with this guy and listen to his trucking stories. Straight up honest blue collar American blood right here.

I owned a 1980 W900 with extended hood and 60" walk in sleeper. It had a KTA 525 Cummins and was emerald green. It's nick name was "The Frog".
I bet that was a sweet ride.

That's a cool truck. My 18 year old son has a 1967 wide nose long hood Pete.
Bought a 359 that was painted up like a Nugget. Supposedly, a fleet had some Nuggets and wanted it to match the rest of the fleet.
Wow that’s awesome! One of one! You won’t see kenworth messing up now a days!
Hell nah lol
Untrue claims.. Ronald Davis of BSN trucking Glade Hill Va bought a brand new extended hood V-8 Cat from Truck Enterprises Roanoke Va in 1978. This guy is full of crap.
That truck is priceless 👌

That engine has the deeper timing cone like the later 425 ATA'S Had. My 400b had the shallow cone like the early model "b"s had could that be a air to air converted to water cooled?
Nam your best story ever!!!!
Haha. Appreciate you
Now that’s a truck.
Oh yeah
FYI wheelbase is measured from center of front axle to between center of drives(pivot point). It’s not 225 I assure you.

@@MuthaTrucker Ah, so you're also a Trucker of Culture. 🤠
Plenty in Australia, NZ & Sth Africa
Here here!
Interesting the dual shocks on each front corner, was that original or optional to KWs? only saw single shocks before. What is the length of the hood itself?
Stretching that truck would be like lowering a 57 chevy, keep it orgional!
Yess. All day!!!

@@marksmopar609 Those W900A models didn't turn as tight as newer trucks, even the 245 inch wheel base ones needed 40 acres to turn around!
Please Please stop butchering trucks to look like Kool cartoons.
Their only Original once...keep it that way.
I have seen some of these extended hoods around don't know if factory built..
Truck should have a 3408 cat or a v1271 , or a k cummings with a long hood ?
Dam cool as all get out
Right!!!
Absolutely beautiful. Leave it original. Just my opinion
😇🤗
Happy birthday
😇🤗
Very nice and rare, should be parked. Lots of work trucks out there.
Oh yeah
The pattern is mosaic.
Yesss
If you had that kw, would you drive it to shows?
Hell yeah!!!!
I sure would risk it, I love your videos man... KEEP IT UPPP❤
He runs it every day

Not enough 'E's in "SWEEEEEEEET !!!!"
So just how long is the hood?
1:30 poor guy itching what the lot lizard gave him
Very cool
Right!!!!
Look good motivated
😇🤗
Hap birfday!!!!
😇🤗
This isn’t true because my brother has an extended hood golden nugget with a 60” flattop
Look at all that space between the firewall and the engine. BIG HOOD.
For a truck that is supposed to be a one of one truck it doesn't have the original motor . I think it was stretched afterwards.. thats why its a work truck. Its not what he claims it to be
Oh my word is she a beaut....
Most nuggets where in California
only 1 stick, nothing like a W900 with 2 sticks!
😇🤗
shitttt bro!!!!

Deuce ✌️
Yess
So this was "accidentally" built ?? No one on the production line at KW noticed this???? Right......
Didn't you know, that one assembly worker puffed on some cheeba that morning and accidently built it lol
Trans?
Heh. Off The Ranch music.
This rig is only worth money regardless of how many or what mistakes were made by the manufacturer if someone will pay for it.
That certainly is a goldmine of a truck......ok I'll leave now
😅🤣😂
That guy was full of bs. .. 400 b is a 400b . And its heavier than a 425 b
