Nice video. Good job. Thanks for showing how well it detects motion. Most videos spend 20 mins showing you how to screw it into the fence post instead of showing the stuff we all want....DOES IT WORK? IF SO, HOW GOOD? Thanks again.
I have been thru a number of such devices(tho not this brand), and battery life in cold weather and water intrusion were the downfall of my previous two tries. Could it pick up movement only visible from below the vehicle? I ask because last night someone walked my neighborhood checking car doors and went through my car. If this were positioned on the side of the driveway shooting across sideways, could it pick up low movement?
That sucks. We get that a lot here in New Jersey too. Druggies looking for anything of value will walk right past security cameras. If you put the sensor low to the ground, it would see feet moving on the other side of the car.

Hi, great video. I always like to see videos regarding home/property security. I am curious, as you appear to have a pool, have you ever heard of a pool "buoy", or sensor that can tell the difference in wind/rain action on the pool surface as opposed to someone/something actually in the pool? While perimeter security near a pool is a great idea, this could also help detect if someone/something has actually fallen into the pool. The device will then send a signal to a receiver/alarm. Might be nice, especially if one has kids, or even infirm family members.

Hi Chris, If it was set to star wars I would be setting it off all the time just to hear it, dose the unit come with batteries or do you have to provide them yourself. good video, already a follower of homesteadonomics.
They use infrared sensors; nothing is visible in the dark, until it detects motion. It is possible to hack a solution that triggers recording on a camera, but they don’t offer it and I’ve never done it.
Thanks, I've been searching for a product that is affordable w/ external alarm. Oddly, I trust my neighbors but worry via "paranoia " that I've invited stranges into my house. Wireless security cameras give no security or privacy. Even further, I speculate that any device that touches the inet by nature is not private. Us folk, older folk that have a general good nature to all assume by proactively, peacefully, and legally protecting our property... the products we do so with will not spy on us... I really like the driveway alarm, but in my house, cameras will NEVER touch the internet unless I go on vacation, then I flip an old fashioned manual "enable inet" switch. I know this post is off subject, but there is very little security without a complete backbone. One must get this philosophy early to avoid over spending...Again, thanks for a great video on this alarm. It is a product I will try and recommend as the external alarm can be interfaced with many devices.
We just bought one, and they were absolutely beautiful… They work perfect, you can change the sensitivity of it and footage, I’m going to buy more

Yes definitely
@@handydadtv o so awesome thank you so much for the reply , im going to get it :)
Is there a system to to notify me via text to phone. And that is a plug in or hard wired
Not this one.
Star Wars? That was Indiana Jones!
Right actor. Wrong movie. 🤷🏻♂️
Hi Chris, If it was set to star wars I would be setting it off all the time just to hear it, dose the unit come with batteries or do you have to provide them yourself. good video, already a follower of homesteadonomics.
Batteries are not included. Thanks!
Does it have a button to shut off when mowers are out there
Yes. Turn off the receiver in the house.
Does it have an optional camera system in case Bambi trips the alarm? Are the sensors those red beams that can be easily seen in the dark?
They use infrared sensors; nothing is visible in the dark, until it detects motion.
It is possible to hack a solution that triggers recording on a camera, but they don’t offer it and I’ve never done it.
@@handydadtv thank you
@pizz off - yes, that’s what I meant by hacking a solution.
Does this have vibrate mode on the alarm so that I can keep it on me ???
No.
4:32 16 sensors and 1 alarm sound, now which way will i look when the alarm goes off if I have 16 potential spots for movement when that happens lol
Good question
I appreciate your input!
But will it go off in the house where I need to hear it at night?
Thank you. Good to know! Looking for something just like this.
Glad it was helpful!
@@handydadtv HOW has this system worked for you? Looking to buy
I don’t have a big enough yard to use this on a regular basis. I just demonstrated it for the video.
Well done video.
Thanks
Can this send alerts to your cell phone? I need something to alert me even when I’m not gone with the receiver.
This doesn’t connect to your phone
