    I love how you break the drafting technique into simple steps. And I adore your mix of stripes and florals on your finished product! So nice!!

    That is a beautiful shirt having the black and white sleeves. Each of the fabrics stand out against one another, in a beautiful way.

    I love the idea of putting a woven sleeve into a knit bodice. It looked really smart, less casual.

    My favorite raglan sleeved shirts are baseball t's. I like the simple two colors. Or sometimes a stripe with a solid color.

    I love the comfort of a raglan sleeve. Thanks too for the links you provide to other great videos and other information to make this a successful project.

      Raglans are great for everyone in the family, for sure, especially for kids! They allow a wide range of movement and my little one def loves them! So happy that this gave you some ideas - take a look at the community tab, I posted some useful resources ragarding raglan sleeves for Members!

    This is interesting. I have seen this method discussed elsewhere, but I really appreciate a discussion of the nuiances (e.g., truing sleeve cap lengths and armholes). Thanks! Have actually been doing a lot of sewing lately!

    ... named after Lord Raglan, the 1st Baron Raglan, who is said to have worn a coat with this style of sleeve after the loss of his arm in the Battle of Waterloo.

    Hello, I am from the Netherlands. I've learned that if you want to make your pattern wider, you split the pattern in half (length wise) and there you ad your extra inches. So you create a gap so to speak.

      Hello there, you can do it in a variety of ways and those ways are described in the previous episodes of this series.

    I love Raglan and Dolman sleeves, they are so easy. I had just thought of you today, I was given this evening dress, which I really don't ever go to places where I would need one, But it's nice to have as a maybe someday kind of thing. The dress is a bit too big, not a problem, it's black with all these glittery things in the fabric. It's long with long sleeves and a plain rounded neck. Not my style. I'm just 5'2 so it makes me feel like I'm wearing a nightgown. I want to jazz it up. I was kind of thinking to pucker the sleeves a bit or just cut them off, It's Dolman sleeved. Maybe make it into more of a shorter petal sleeve. I don't know. I do know that I want to shorten it, maybe shorter on the front and a bit longer in the back, or fringe. I wish that I lived closer to you to give me more ideas on what to do. I've been going through pictures trying to get some ideas. One good thing is that It's just poly and washable.

      Ooooooh, since is it a dolman sleeve - you can easily rework it into a "normal" bodice and then make a circle sleeve from the fabric that you cut off away from the hem - would give you a nice butterfly sleeve design. Or a small cap sleeve would be nice too. High - low hem would be nice, and always elevates the evening wear! Oh yeas - washable evening wear is nice, then you don't have to worry about dry cleaners and such. On the neckline you can do an "insert" cowl neck, where the "cowl" part is as an insert, since you probably won't have enough fabric to draft a cowl neck from what you have.

      @@ThoughtfulCreativity Thank you so much for the ideas. I'll do a little bit at a time, no rush. And you should see the pile of fabric I just got, it's going to keep me busy for quite a while. Knits, blends of rayon and cotton, linen and cottons.

    I love peasant raglan sleeves and I wear raglan peasant blouses, but I never wear baseball style raglan tee, I am a "E cup" and I don't know how to avoid wrinkles on armpit, I've tried to do a Full Bust Adjustment on Raglan sleeves but it didn't work for me.

      Rosa, hi! Was nice to see you in the live chat! Yeah... raglan sleeve is more of a relaxed fit style when it comes to baseball style tee, this sleeve is great for movement but it can have that extra pocket of fabric in the underarm due to that!

    I worry that raglan sleeves would make me look fatter

    • @ThoughtfulCreativity
      @ThoughtfulCreativity  2 роки тому

      Karen, hello there! I think it depends what is the style of the raglan sleeve, let's say a baseball tee vs a raglan peasant blouse. Hmm... actually I have heard from people that if you color block the bodice and the sleeves it might slim the look a bit.
