I will echo the sentiment - I'm at over 2200 hours in the game and it's a BLAST. Seriously, no game has *ever* held my attention for this long. The pacing is fantastic - you spend 3 minutes running around for clues, lulled into a sense of complacency. Then, out of nowhere a shot whizzes past you. You get dropped into the action so quickly!
One of a kind game. I hope the game will last for years and years to come.

@@GobotchFragswith the engine upgrade rolling out this year it should extend its life by a good amount. First game I’ve seen where the devs opted to upgrade the engine rather than make a sequel
@@GobotchFrags imo they needa add updates if they want that to happen. Game is repetitive to a lot of people. The Solo mode doesn't even work.
game is already years old lmao and if you read the comment under it, they are jumping to a new engine plus hella new shit in august, its not like they just arent updating anything for years @xnvy4940
little but important detail for the sound. It´s made to be used in stereo mode. Even when using surround headsets, it works a lot better in stereo. Speaking from experience

got it on release its super underrated although skill cap was kinda high but once you get the hang of it, it become very fun!

Totally agree. I bought Hunt four months ago and already played around 350 hours. Its just awesome, although I was never a Ego Shooter PVP Player.
Once it sinks it’s hooks in it’s a must okay daily. Love the game flow and sound design.

There is no game like it. It is hands down the best game I have ever played and I have been play video games for over 4 decades. I only wish I had purchased Hunt 6 years ago when it released. I had it on my wish list for over a year before I finally pulled the trigger on purchasing it 2.5 years ago. I have just shy of 3k hours at 2980 hours and have no intentions of slowing down. It is just simply amazing. There is no game and I mean zero games in its league when it comes to sound! It is a masterpiece. It is very hard core and unforgiving always but especially when you start. If someone is on the fence don’t be just buy it. Give it a fair shake and as you mentioned plan on dying a lot in the beginning.
Most underrated game ever. Its 11/10 Its the best fps shooter of our times.

There are a few points in your script I'd like to point out.
First of all: I think your initial statement lacks nuance big time. You lead the video saying Hunt is worth your time. Now, you may well feel that way. But you have to acknowledge that this is highly subjective. Hunt is a game that absolutely does not value your time as a player. You will frequently have periods of time where you spend an hour of boredom punctuated by maybe two instances of action that may well be over in 20 seconds. Personally, I consider this a terrible time investment. Hunt is not a fun game to play, i think that is quite an objectively true statement. That's because it simply doesn't provide fun activities to you unless you engage with some distict encounters. Now, of course the game can be very thrilling, exciting, scary and engaging in a lot of other ways. But i wouldn't consider "fun" one of its main draws.
Of course you can still enjoy the game, many people do. But I find it quite dishonest to just leave this potential for boredom and the resulting frustration out of your video.
Secondly, no: you don't need a sorround sound headset. In fact, it's well known the game sound functions best with stereo headphones. You may well harm your game experience using a sorround headset.
Third: hunt having plenty of content: that's debatable. It really has only two modes. That being bounty hunt and soul survivor. I wouldn't call the shooting range a mode as it's just that: a shooting range. There really isn't anything to be done there. Trials may just as well kot even exist because it's been abandoned for years and nobody cares about it. Sure, it's there technically. But hardly any new player even knows it exists. And those who do ususally hate it. So i wouldnt really call that a lot of content. Add to this that there's only 3 maps and 4 bosses and it looks quite pitiful in terms of content density, especially considering it has been out for 6 years at this point. Sure, you can say it has enough content. But that really isn't a point to praise the game on.
it's sad because the game has so much potential.
sound system is very sucsessfull but when you are in building you can not judge where the enemy coming from upstairs or down stairs..
I'm at the 3000 hours in this game and still love it. It has its problems, like bad servers and tradeoffs but overall it is going to improve this year

Great Video! Just one quick thing: The game sound is in stereo, it even says it iwhen you start the game. There is no need for Surround Sound headphones.

Truly my favorite game discovery of 2024 so far
Game is old, you need a decent pc to get that 144fps, its full of day one bugs still to this day. I had constant server issues even trying other region. Player population is about 10-20k and its felt specialy after the events where playerbase falls off a cliff on some servers (OCE, Asia) Player experience is diffrient from server to server and you now have even a cheating problem in hunt.
Sound design is broken you notice that after few 1000 hrs. I cant recommend this game by any means and you should maybe take more conservative take because not all of us or future owners will not have the experience you had. How many hrs do you have mind me asking?

Especially when August comes. They are overhauling everything with the game. Graphics, ui, features, etc.
Yes, I’ve been playing it regularly for like 4 years. It’s great and they’re constantly doing events and additions to keep the game fresh.

100% worth a buy, the sound is amazing and very accurate. The gameplay is smooth and very tactical.
Your playstyle is up to you and you can trick your opponent in so many ways!
It WAS a great game but there are serious problems with cheating, matchmaking, MMR exploits, and the devs steadily nerfing sniper, stealth, and compound play out of the game. The devs are FINALLY addressing some of the cheating and smurfing after ignoring it for years, which probably means it' got so bad the player base left. But it's now basically COD 1896 the way the devs force medium range run-n-gun.
Keep in mind this is from the perspective of a guy fighting brand new players. The sbmm killed this game.
Higher MMR is always a chore. 3 MMR is peace.

I wish it had a bit more focus on looting and didnt REQUIRE you to go for bosses or player hunting.
An added looting element would be interesting but for me the thrill of the pvp is where it’s all at. As long as that element goes unchanged I’m good with more looting elements
I’d say 1 in 10 games you have fun. Most games they throw you into lobbies full of sweats, long load times and the AI is annoying af. It’s fun but gets old quick. You’ll spend 5 mins getting your character, 5-10 mins looking for a lobby, the 10-15 mins killing AI avoiding sound traps and collecting clues just to get head shotted by a random dude in a bush, just to go to the lobby and do it all over again. Now have that happen 10 games in a row. Gets old.
Would you recommend it to a new player?
@@kicker081 If setting up your character, running around for 10-20 mins collecting clues, getting fucked by ai, then getting killed from nowhere then going back to the lobby to do it again sounds fun to you, then sure. It’s a good game, just needs the ai and sound traps toned down, and another game mode where you can fight without having to go back to the lobby setup character, wait to find a match, then wait for the match to load. Takes way too long.
Just get better at the game then you will enjoy it .its hard at 1st and still brutal when been playing awhile. But I love it 😂
So online only. I’d like to see more games with a good campaign. I don’t play games to be around people. I play to get away from everyone and I’ll never pay for some online membership. That’s what the money paid for the game is for. Playing the game.

I tried Hunt on PC a while ago. Couldn't figure that out. Was running around an empty map, got killed from miles away, lost all my loot. Rinse and repeat, until I had nothing left. Deleted the game. Might give the game another chance on PS5 now, but I don't get it

Is there proximity voice chat? Also how does it play when going in with friends or randoms? Is the community toxic or friendly? Would it be smarter to get it on PC or PS4?
PC, yes absolutely there’s prox chat. You can lobby up with friends in duos or trios. Makes it easier imo, from my experience the game had a pretty loyal and welcoming culture
I really liked the point u made about Hunt having the best sound design with an example afterwards. But why talk over the dynamite explosion + Death Sound right after. :(

I love it, but i dont like the fact that you lose your character, like reset abilities is ok but lose the body, clothes or skin is bad for me, you cant be in love with your hunter
my main complaint with this game is lack of good colourblind mode i have strong deuteranopia and a lot of models just blend in with environment, sound isn't good for me either because shooting in a general direction is probably not the greatest idea

This game is easily worth the buy. The sad part is that the average player runs in gung ho, guns blazin like its fuckin call of duty. They fail to realize that this is one of few fps meant to be played with stealth, strategy and wit as opposed to skill with a gun.
Also dont be one of those tms without a headset. Too many times have i spectates a tm and i can hear an enemy 5 feet away but they cant.

Dramatically different types of games honestly. This meant near as open and sandbox like. It’s a set large map with around 10-12 players on it. But each confrontation is different and nail biting

Just bought this for ps5 and do not like it. I find it's gameplay in fps very clunky and awkward. Back to dayz until I find a worthy alternative.
the game is meh. I only play with friends, coudlnt imagine it being any fun alone or with randoms, I prestige once. 1 thing that annoys me a lot is that almost every match is 85% just running around with your knife

Honestly, I love Hunt but game, is just fucked. Huge amount of cheater because of Free Anticheat which was weak even before, now they nerfing Solo players ability to play by nerfin necro, bullet drop off bullshit... not worth it for now. Dont buy it, dont play it. its just getting worse and worse

Currently 3 maps with another on the way sometime this year. It’s the perfect amount as of now for map knowledge and each map is pretty large for the 12 man player count.

How's the community? Is it overly toxic for example? I'm a girl and feel super anxious with games like these because people will target/send horrible messages just because you're not a guy.
I haven’t seen much toxicity in my time with the game. The community is overall pretty welcoming and helpful. Random queuing can be hit and miss though if you do that. But overall it’s very good!
Literally had ppl extract and put traps down at the extraction just to be dicks. They already left map so they don't even get anything for scoring a kill with those traps
No just no it got a negative review good lord the hunt game got negative reviews jeez man. I know this is the most violent and gory but a pinch of oofs and whomp whomp salt.
Hunt is only fun below 5 stars ELO. Because after that it's just dudes sniping in bushes from 100 meters away.

The saddest thing about hunt is that the new player base who picked this game up in the last 2 years have no idea how trash the game is today compared to what it was before. Its been dumbed down for the casual player ever since denis at crytek took over the game. No more quick swap between your main and secondary weapon because apparently it was too complicated for noob players to do, multitudes of ways to get your health back but importantly, crytek rigged the game for trash players giving them aim assist and even possibly give them another edge by giving their opponents bigger hit boxes. I have 2000+hours on the game, most players knew me when I picked up the bounty. I was at 10k kills with 4.16 kd. Then all a sudden after a certain magic patch, everyone became a god over night. I was getting killed/headshotted every game by the worst garbage players with .9 kds 1.3kds and stuff like that. Now a year later my kd stands at 3.4 because all the noobs and casuals kills me like they have 5000hours played. This was a masterpiece game before. Today, its a hot bag of dogsht.
i would go back in time in 2020 and 2021 when the game was at it's peak
