Bro-doing some last minute maintenance before I sell. You just saved me and a potential $$ downgrade from an issue that’s been a problem for 2 years. Thank you so much! Instant mechanic sainthood for you.👏👏👏
This worked for me, thank you. On my C'eed. There was also a rubber gromit thing in the door that I think had become a bit compressed over time and so was not applying enough pressure on the sensor. My fix needed an adjustment on the door latch as per your video, but also just wrapping some wire around the back of that gromit to encourage it to press the sensor a bit harder. Job done, for now at least 😂
I had the same problem with my Kia Optima, I tried this method and it actually made it worse, then I took the latch off and turned it around and screwed it back and it worked a treat.
Same thing just happened to our 2011 Kia Optima. The dealership was going to charge us $400 to fix a tiny dent where the door touches the sensor and to then repaint the door! This video helped us figure out the real problem and it worked, fixed in just a few minutes. Saved us $400, thanks!
I can't see in the video and you didn't state exactly how you adjusted it. Move it a little towards the interior or exterior or what? I'd have to buy the torx but that will be cheaper than anything else. Thanks
I had the same problem. My 2013 Kia Optima had a dent on the door where it is supposed to touch the sensor. So it was not touching the sensor deep enough when the door was pushed or in turns. My mechanic fixed it for free by moving the latch like he did in this video.
Thank you so much for this video. Our car alarm was going off and think this may have had something to do with the door ajar light coming on often. We did your method and now door ajar has stopped. You saved us lots of money I am sure!
Someone had slammed the door of my 2011 optima with the seatbelt buckle between and afterwards the door open came and stayed on. This fixed my problem. Thanks for your video!
Thank you for helping us fix our 2020 Nissan rogue ..💪🏾😊 oh and welcome to the family we a be needing you soon🤦🏾♀️hopefully for something simple nd smart 💪🏾Thanks again
definitely gonna see if my stepdad can take a look and if he has this tool since my sister and I don't. our 2014 Kia Forte has been doing this for almost a month. we've been talking about it for a while with our mom
thanks for this video . . .the knobs at the repair place were gonna do a whole electronics troubleshooting work up, charge me at least 70 prolly more on my kia soul . . . took me just a couple of minutes once I had the right star . . .
This must be the drill they extracted the infinity stones with because the screws in my 2015 forte wouldn't budge! If you notice the switch has a little rubber nipple over it. I noticed all the other ones were pointing down so I did the same with my drivers side door and put a small piece of duct tape on it. Good as new! I thought this was happening due to my extra Corona pounds but apparently it's a common thing with Kias.
I just purchase 2019 kia forte.. after 4 months sensor show my rear hood is open even its not. Im trying to find the sensor but I can’t find it... do you have any idea what its the problem so I can fix it by my self.. thank you
Thanks watched this and it kinda helped seen the previous owner of mine slammed the seat belt in door alot and bent the door metal so i used a 2 penny and duck tape for now to level the door so the sensor pick it up
I have this issue in my 2016 Kia forte after my roommate forcefully pulled my door open while I was trying to close it. I’m going to try this fix to see if it works.
I hate when working on car customer comes to you and say is everything ok, is it hard for yah. I say once I’m done I’ll come get you. By the way, Leaavvvvvve me alone until I’m done
