I’ve lived here since I was 3 years old (I’m Currently 31) and I completely agree with you on all of this! And shower heads!!! I fucking hate the non detachable ones! How do you clean yourself properly with the shower head when it doesn’t detatch?! I always switch out the shower heads when ever I move lol

Привет, Настя! Комментировал уже твои видео. Will continue in English as I see your subscribers are mostly English speaking. I am a Russian who lived in NY for several years (I had returned back to Russia now) and I might add a few things I didnt like about the US. Please whoever read this from the US dont be offended its a great country and it has many upsides but some things have a room for improvment. I will not compare USA to Russia but to some Western European country since I had lived in EU for some time also. So here those couple of things.
    1. Worker rights. Sorry guys but that thing is not like in any developed country. The US is one of the few countries in the world that doesnt have a minimal paid vacation time set by law (even China has it). It is all part of company benefits so in the end in US you have like the shortest paid vacations. As I know most US companies provide only from 10 to 14 vacation days and in EU, Russia you have like 25-30 days. And about one quarter of US companies dont provide paid vacation at all. The same situation is with sick days, maternity leave and so on.
    2. Gun control and street crimes. Its ok when some law-abiding citizen has a gun in his house safe to protect himself, go hunt etc. It is bad when this gun can be owned by any bum or criminal. If you find yourself in some bad neighbourhood in US you will be really scared for you life and safety because of that. The crime rate for street criminal murders in US is several times higher than in most developed countries (like 4 times higher than in Canada for example).
As for Stacy's video, I am perfectly fine with showers, tips and taxes in the US but I will support her about prices for health care and education in the US.

Paul V. I was wondering you mention vacation days in Russia but how has the work force and economy inproved sense the fall of the U.S.S.R in of workers rights in Russia and Union's that help workers out and the economy because I've watched alot of documentaries and it was pretty rough in the 1990's early 2000's so I was just wondering how things improved in Russia but the number of vacation days you said is un heard of her in America !! We are all about work work work pretty much as America myself something I don't like but thank you for the information have a good day !!.

Sebastian Minney Hi, Sebastian! In Russia the labor laws doesnt really changed much since the USSR time (Russians have 28 days per year of paid vacation) but as I wrote I am not even comparing USA and Russia since Russian economic system is pretty complicated. But even if we compare US labor laws and such laws in major European countries like Germany, France or Italy it will not be in favor of the US.

      1. It's not a "right"; it's a cultural difference. You even said such things are company benefits. No US company has to offer what Russia company offers unless they're in direct competition or other US companies offer such things. You can make an argument on why a longer vacation, paid maternity leave etc. are necessary e..g, possible more efficient and healthy workforce, but don't go about saying they're rights when in they aren't.
      2. You don't understand gun control. As for crime, I'm not sure where you get stats but here's the answer: don't go into bad neighborhoods. Many bad neighborhoods are linked to poverty, broken family homes, and bad community culture.

My company gives 4 weeks paid vacation, after you have worked there for 3 years. You get 2 weeks paid vacation before that. The conductors on the train I used to travel by got 6 weeks paid vacation. They couldn't take all 6 weeks consecutively, though.

Bernie Sanders didn't support free health care, he supported medicare for all, which requires large co-pays. It's also far more expensive for the same service in the private sector, and with vastly lower quality.

Costing a lot to park is mainly a city thing. I lived in a smaller town of 15k people in Northern Calif and parking was mainly free unless you went to the fair or some special event. The shower thing, I get what you are saying but you can buy a new shower head that has what you are talking about. I have one in my shower. Check Wal mart for it. The US isnt perfect but I love it.

Medical care in Russia is horrific. A typical Russian hospital would never pass regulatory oversight. There is a reason epidemiological outcomes are so different. The health care systems in Russia are third world.

Stacy, go to home depot and buy a hand held Waterpik Showerhead. You should not be without one. It is a girls best friend. You can remove the watersave device yourself which makes for a much better shower experience. I was informed by a plummer that they are forbidden from removing the watersaving device but the consumer can if they chose.

Doing our own taxes scares a lot of us, but it's really just something we have to take it slow and easy. I learned from a youtube video about 10 years ago! lol. Either you do it yourself or you pay someone to do it.
Americans don't love to tip. It's just something we became accustomed to. It incidentally became part of our culture. If you're paying $200 on a visit to the beauty salon, don't tip if you're not going there again, but most important if you're not happy with the results!! I know plenty of us don't want to be mean - that's why we tip - but if you're paying that much and you're unsatisfied, swallow that lump on your throat that you get from not wanting to tip. You'll get over the guilt anyway.
I don't like those detachable, handheld shower heads. In the US, they're for old people lol. Really though, it's the hose that bugs me about them, but we do have them. And they're relatively inexpensive. I might have seen them for $20 last time I was in the hardware store. Home Depot. Just unscrew the old one, tightly wrap sealing tape around the end of the pipe, then screw on the new one. Done.
Your friend Sean is right. Large [west coast] cities are traffic ridden because too many people own too many cars, and there's just too many of them on the road. People "fight" over a parking spot in their own street. It's definitely a problem. That's why some cities have seen improvement in public transportation and why they have cycling lanes. We're encouraged to take public transportation as often as we can if we don't want to deal with traffic.
America can do government funded healthcare [and higher education]. It's just that our politicians are bought out by "big pharma" [and lobbyists] - who don't want Americans to have those things. It's not just the Republican party that is against those things, too many in the Democratic party are against it as well. Imagine running for office and getting hundreds of thousands of dollars multiple times in the form of -bribes- "campaign donations" to purposely be against those things. You know, Obama was against those things. Hillary was against those things even more. Can you believe that? So called 'liberals', heralded as champions of change and broken barriers.
They're what are called neoliberals. They're center-right politically. Part of the 'establishment' whose purpose is to maintain the broken system that has so left many Americans impoverished - the status quo. Believe it or not, but they're actually Bernie Sanders' biggest opposition, not actual Republicans or admitted conservatives. There's nothing liberal about them. In this day and age, not being an asshole - who hates on lgbtq+, black or hispanic people - does not make someone a "liberal."
The majority of Americans actually support "free" healthcare. Bernie Sanders proposed a bill for exactly that last year. HR 676. It's really not going anywhere at the moment. It'll happen, Stacy. Maybe not in our lifetime, but it will happen.

In many countries, you do have to pay for textbooks and room and board. The government pays for tuition. In Norway, the government pays for education in the form of loans that students have to pay back. In the UK, students have to pay the tuition back when they get a job after graduating.
There are nail places where I live (New Jersey) that charge $9-$10 for nails. You don't have to tip if they do a bad job. It's customary to tip in beauty salons in some countries in Europe - France and Italy.

We have the largest prison population because almost everything you can possibly do can land you in jail. For example most states make it illegal to own wild animals, and in most states prostitution is illegal. Depending on the state/city, urban sprawl is pretty nasty in the US, basically you can't get anywhere without a car, one of the reasons why Americans are so obese. Job opportunities are very low in the United States which is only natural since the federal and state governments have made it very expensive to hire potential employees; ie raising the minimum wage, increasing payroll taxes, workers compensation, anti-discrimination laws, and other regulations. Sure anti-discrimination laws, workers compensation, and raising the minimum wage might sound good on paper, but the fact is all that does is decrease the chances of being employed especially for low-skilled workers. For anyone that disagrees just look at the labor participation rate, it's the lowest it's ever been in the last 50 years. Our country is dependent on artificial low interest rates, meaning we have a bubble economy, a phony standard of living, and we are living beyond our means. Interest rates in Russia I believe is 17%, if we raise interest rates in the United States to 17%, the US economy would implode. Oh and we elected a president who hoodwinked us and is a phony piece of shit.

Well, free healthcare, as I’m certain those citizens of socialized healthcare systems are aware, is not actually free. Someone must pay for it. Medical staff do not work for free. So, either you pay for healthcare via your taxes or out of your own pocket at the time of service. And then there’s the employer paid healthcare, here in the U.S, which is another layer to the conversation. Also, in the U.S. there are U.S citizens on Medicaid - some of those recipients don’t work at all, therefore paying no taxes, so healthcare really is free for them. Then we have sliding scale situations where you pay for medical care depending on your income amount. Also, there’s debt forgiveness in the U.S. healthcare system. My sister-in-law has had large amounts of hospital debt forgiven - twice - because she makes too much money to qualify for Medicaid but not enough to repay thousands of medical debt.

The USA are in real oligarchy and democracy only formally --- the oligarchy does not want bright US-citizens who could understand for example that rd. 10% of Americans gets much more interest then it pays (they can live from money in a bank and similar), rd. 10% of Americans pays the same amount of interests as they get but rd. 80% of Americans pays more interests then they get. It is similarly as in Germany and the numbers 10-10-80 have been researched by scientists in Germany -- I presume it could be rather worse in the USA. The wages of this German 80% are about 40% lower because they pay almost the whole interest in the German economy: they pay interest on money borrowed:
-- by themselves for a new car, a house and so on,
-- for production of goods and services (by corporation, lawyers, doctors, architects and so on),
-- by the government for army, wars, infrastructure and so on.
I write about interest on interest, so called compound interest, and interest which is as a cost in prices of cars, newspapers, in hair cut and the work by doctor, in everything. The numbers can be somehow different in the USA, but rather worse.
This rd. 80% pays obviously almost all interests paid in the country and this richest rd. 10% gets it without work, just in sleep, dreaming the American Dream. Compound interest is not necessary! Compound interest makes no sens for economy as it must be together bigger and bigger each year till mathematically the middle class is working for example 80% of its working time for interest taken by this rd. 10% super rich. When this rd. 80% is not able to reproduce biologically as their whole earnings go via interest to the rd. 10% super rich then there is revolution, war, economical crisis and similar and the bank accounts are being destroyed, super rich killed or fleeing and the game starts from the beginning.
______You can proof mathematically that the compound interest makes no sens: presume someone would put on saving account in a bank 1 euro on the day when Christ was born and there was no war, revolution, economical crisis or other catastrophe and the forgotten account would be found today by some heirs. The amount on this account would have value of more then 270 Millions of the Earth balls made of gold. Economy using compound interest cannot exist without catastrophes destroying the bank accounts. :-) That is why the catholic church banned the compound interest for ages and only normal interest was allowed. There was a great development of economy and society in Europe in Renaissance when this ban on compound interest could be enforced in Europe. The Islam banks do not tolerate the compound interest even today and you could make a conspiracy theory about the American wars in the Middle East as the wars defending the compound interest.
The education cannot be free in the USA because the oligarchy fears that educated people would not accept such robbery and working for the richest 10%.
Prof. Michio Kaku describes the American educational system:
"The USA has the worse educational system known to science. Our graduates compete regularly on the level of the Third World countries. How the scientific establishment of the USA does not collapse, if we are producing generations of dummies, if the stupid-index of America keeps rising every year, just watch the network TV and reality shows, right? How the scientific establishment of the USA does not collapse? Let me tell you something. Some of you may be do not know this. America has a secret weapon. This secret weapon is the H1-B. Without the H1-B the scientific establishment of the USA would have collapsed. Forget about Google, forget about Silicon Valley. There would be no Silicon Valley without the H1-B. And you know what the H1-B is? It is a genius-visa, ok? Do you realize the in the USA 50% of all PhD candidates are foreign born? At my university, one of the biggest in the USA, 100% PhD candidates are foreign born. The USA is a magnet sucking up all the brains of the world. (...) So do not tell me science is not an engine of prosperity. You remove the H1-B and you collapse economy. The Wall Street Journal editorialised against an congressmen, who wanted to ban the H1-B saying they take jobs away from American people. The Wall Street Journal said: look! There are no Americans who can take these jobs. These [jobs] are on the highest level of high technology. These [foreigners] do not take away jobs from Americans, they are creating entire industries. (...) Your school (MIT - PK) would not even exist without the H1-B!"
in: YT: "Dr. Michio Kaku Says America Has A Secret Super Weapon"
_______Newsweek´s journalist, Fareed Zakaria tells the same:
: "The dirty secret about our scientific edge is that it´s largely produced by foreigners and immigrants. Americans don´t do Science anymore."
    in: Newsweek, 29.11.2004, page. 21
Foreigners, immigrants do not question the situation of society but the consequence is that: in about 30 years 400 Millions of very well educated Chinese will meet about 30 Millions of very well educated Americans. These Chinese will have help of 1000 Millions of poorly educated Chinese and these Americans will get help of 300 Millions poorly educated Americans. The USA does not have the slightest chance in this confrontation.
Europeans understand the meaning of free medical care, free education and social help (money for house, food, transportation, internet and so on) for people who for shorter or longer lost the fight on the market -- the goal is the best education for everybody so the whole economy is very competitive, children in families of unemployed can learn as well as other children and the society pays 10 times less taxes for prisons. European unemployed sit at home with some taxpayer money, they look for a new job and learn in order to acquire new skills. American unemployed sit for much more taxpayer money in prison.
But the owners of the USA, this richest 10%, do not care about the near future (greed makes them unable to think). And for poor educated Americans such relations in society are too complex. Without brain drain and printing of Dollars the USA would be on the level of Brazil in a short time. Without super and free education for 100% of Americans the USA will lose to China in rd. 30 years. Duty on Chinese and European goods will not help as the EU is too big and can trade within the EU and China will tax 1000 Millions in order to give the highest education for the 400 Millions with the highest IQ. It looks very bad for the USA :-(

Death. Taxes. Tips they were 15% in the 90’s now it’s 20% if they do a good job, especially college towns. My house has a detachable shower but that doesn’t happen much especially in dorms. NYC much worse than most cities for tips. You just have to tip there to get something done. Kinda of a mixed bag with the shower head thing, I know in most of the older residential areas of course they have fixed shower heads, but I believe in the comparison with modernization, it's bound to change. For example a public place like a Gym, or any exercise training facility would have modern detachable shower heads nowadays, because it's a requirement for physically handicapped people. I would also say modern decently priced hotels would also have them, but not the older cheap ones though.
Detachable Shower Heads have existed for many years, and are reasonably cheap at almost any hardware store, provided it's still uses Stainless Steal materials.

With great possibilities for young, educated Russians. For sure greater possibilities then in the USA where the real wages are practically the same as 1964, the whole debt higher the 1100% GDP and bad overall perspectives for the country.

So everyone knows, Stacy isn't a 'typical' Russian, she's obviously from a wealthy family, so keep that in mind as you watch her VLOGS. So, my Russian experience affter living there a year and 5 or 6 trips: Here's my 5 things I disliked about living in Russia.
1.) You are REQUIRED to carry a domestic passport ( yes I'm talking about Russian citizens) and register in every city if you stay more than 30 days with the local authorities. Real pain in the ass to move around the country, standing in long lines so some bureaucrat can 'stamp' a piece of paper---you talk about Big Brother
2.) The average Russia makes about 1/4 of the wages in the US, I know medical care is theoretically free, but to receive it you'll need be in a cue for HOURS and 'hope' they can get to you that day. And so you all know 'decent' health care in Russia is at pay clinics. So, the old saying 'you get what you pay for' exists there too.
3.) There are no damn roads, and the ones that do exist are dangerous as hell ( google it ). Scary every time you get in a vehicle.
4.) Most Russians have gardens, in fact there are community gardens, not for 'hobby' planting but for growing food since the 'average' Russian doesn't make enough money to buy all of the groceries they need. Food, by American standards is expensive as hell for the typical Russian.
5.) Transportation is vast, but old and inefficient, yes there are buses everywhere, but they are crowed, and many times you have to stand, and nothing is safe. In fact, it's a country of bribes, so people in public safety positions aren't necessary the most qualified, but more likely are the ones that had enough cash to bribe the instructors or hiring officials. Think about that the next time you get on a domestic flight there.
And lastly, as a bonus, in case you're not convinced, most Russians are true Nationalist, the vast majority of them are very pleasant and reasonable people until politics enters the discussion ( which they love to talk about with Americans ). Problem with an rationale discussion with them is they by and large believe anything Putin says. I'm not talking about an even split as we have in the US between Dems and Repubs, I'd say 80% of them would believe the world is flat if it came out of the Kremlin. This is one way Putin stays in power--that and if you vote against him you end with cyanide in your vodka.

That's not a rebuttal Stacy, everything I said is absolutely factual and current. I don't dislike Russia, I have relatives there, but it barely escapes 3rd world status. The problem with Russia isn't Russians ( like yourself) it's leader like Putin. In America whether you like the current occupant of the White House or not he'll be gone in no more than 7 years. However, there is no way to get rid of Putin, it is impossible.

The reason why is that we are not going to rid of him, we love him and want to see our president as long as possible. It's we who decide, not you, I mean western countries, what president we need or what "problem with Russia is". You'll never understand

How many immigrants are there in Russia to do your nails? I’d guess not many.

I would like to see a video on pros and cons of living in Russia. I have always been fascinated with Russian culture.
You can get a detachable shower head.
I don't Like the high prices either. I wish we could make free healthcare work in the US. Also I wish we could have cheaper schooling.
I have a question . A friend of mine said that some one he knows, said that Russia dosn't have a driver's license exam. That they just give people a license. Is there any truth to that?
