    Great campground review. You guys have a real knack for breaking parks down into a rating system. Looks like a really nice campground!

    Like the mathematical rating scale. Hope you publish a book or online guide listing of all the parks sometime.

    Nice video. I like when you have your kids in the video. All my kids are up and gone.( 2 girls ) Grandkids are in school most of the time. And I like the going out and eat, when we go we always go out at least once. Around 12-16 weeks a year. We LOVE the Ocean

    We were at Elijah Clark the same weekend. I recommend going there sometime. It’s about 5 miles to nearest small town. They have a dollar general though! They also have putt putt and mostly lake front sites.

    Nice job. We are campers who like to be far from non-campground activities. We love to kayak and swim.
    Keep up the good work.

    Hey, thanks for the info on this place - we live not twenty miles away (North Augusta) and haven't gotten around to Mistletoe yet. This helps in getting in on our To-See List!

    Such beautiful scenery. We have never been there but hope to soon. Thanks for sharing! ( are you going to have a walk/ride through vid of the park itself at some time?)

    • @WanderingWeekends
      @WanderingWeekends  5 років тому

      No, most of the park is very similar to what you see in this vid. Very nice scenery for sure!

    Do they have the gray water dump spots in the campground there ?? That is a big plus for us. Pine mountain state park has them scattered throughout there campground!! Can’t wait till the next video!!

    We have to visit GA. You guys make it seem so fun. I like a more rustic campsite so I can see myself here, my teenage girls on the other hand not so much.

    Due to the location of the lake in general most campgrounds in the Augusta area are 35-30 minutes to major shopping. The closet to shopping and food are Petersburg’s and Corp park and Wildwood a Columbia County park but very nice. They are about 25 minutes off i20 the other direction but are both within about 15 minutes from Walmart Super Center and restaurants. Thompson Ga which has a WM SUPER was bout 25 minutes from you which has local restaurants and a few chains but the other campgrounds I mentioned are closer to what you are used to.
    Ridge Road Campground a Corp campground is only a 10 minute drive above Wildwood going north on Washington Rd but once you turn do the access road its about another 5 miles which puts it 25 to 30 minutes from Augusta but there is a well stocked Dollar General and a couple of bait and tackle shops and a small local cafe at the main road.
    On the SC side of the Clarks Hill lake across the Dam is Modoc campground a few miles north of the dead end from the dam to the left on Furys Ferry Rd. There is a dollar general 1/2 mile outside of Modoc that is well stocked. It is 30 minutes back into the Evans/Augusta area where you have tons of shopping and restaurants.
    Great review of the park however thanks for your postings.

    There is little shade in some areas of the campground as a microburst came through the area around 3 years ago. I was there when it happened.

    Howdy from Texas. I am curious as to what the average cost of a campsite (water & elec) is per night in Ga. Does your state offer annual passes with a discount? Texas State Parks vary from $20 to $28, depending on popularity, and if you camp often, the $70 Annual Pass is well worth it. That eliminates entry fees, makes gift shop discounts and gives you 3 free nights at any park. I'm not sure if New Mexico offers an annual discount, but the majority of their state parks are only $18 - $22 per night and some even have sewer hookups. Thanks, and I always enjoy your posts!

      Great question! Ga State Parks run $32-$35 per night. We make sure to join Friends of Ga State Parks which includes free camping and discounts almost exactly like you mentioned. It's well worth a membership even if you're only spending 3 nights in Ga. You can check it out here! friendsofgastateparks.org/
