I wish that us techs and shop owners would adopt this. It would make repeat customers easier at future visits a lot quicker if we had this data available to compare to.
Thank you so very much for your time making this video. I would love to see how to to test a package unit using all the tools for combustion analysis. By any chance, have you made videos with RTU’s?
Do I need a blue tooth combustion analyzer and a TEC manometer to use MeasureQuick on a gas furnace. I still use a testo 310 combination analyzer. I changed the CO & O2 sensors last year. It’s adequate for what I do and I’m not prepared to upgrade just yet.
In since 1986 & yes we always go by Data Plate .... TESP Gas pressure in & out on WC / tempt Rise / Blower Speed & test CO or c m @ all supplies entering Space but a question ? is all that really needed & necessary on an new old school 80 % Nat gas furnace ?
Yes there can be brand new furnaces with 1000pm CO coming out of the exhaust on a 80 percent furnace due to misaligned burners. So it’s very important to check for efficiency and safety.
If I already paid for ac Retromission premiere and need to test the same system but for heating do I have to pay again? If so I'd assume the location have 2 system I'd have to pay 4 premiere function?
A project once open is open for a year. So you can do the AC and the furnace as many times as you like as long as it is within 365 days of the initial project without any additional cost. A system is the furnace, and A/C-Heat pump in the case of a split. Other wise it is a single package unit. So it is 1/2 of what you are thinking.
Stack temp being too low and excess air too high seems like underfired with 10% oxygen. Wouldn’t bringing your gas pressure up start to drop the oxygen, excess air and bring your stack temp up? Looking for 6-9% oxygen right?
It would, but that is not how you set up the appliance. You should set up a furnace with proper input, and it must be within 2% of the rating. I clocked the meter and set the fuel pressure according to the average heat content of the gas in our area. The input is spot on. That makes me think that it is a design characteristic of that appliance.
I would use measure quick if my employer paid for the qbits. I’m not paying to service someone else equipment. I get paid. I would pay a one time fee for for my own self managed storage. But essentially $5 for each unit. I look at hundreds of units. The app is nice but not fiscally worth it for me as a tech.
A typical company that users MeasureQuick as it is intended sees a 40-60% increase in sales and we have seen as high as a 500% ROI. It was never intended to be paid for by a technician although some that work on commissions do. It is a company tool to standardize the field measurement process and find the problems and replacement opportunities that most technicians are missing.
The video I needed! I got stuck with measurequick just yesterday, trying to measure a gas furnace. I'm a lot better with air handlers
Great and very detailed video. Diving deeper into measureQuick.

Jim and team, awesome updates. I am currently working towards some implementation, hope to see y’all soon!
Very timely upload. Right on the money too.
"Measure Quick" Great app. Thank you Jim.
Perfect time Jim. Great video as always. I am going to see if I can get some of those tools available up here in Canada.

While performing a test on a propane furnace without a gas meter, what is the preferred method to calculate input?
Install a sub meter near the furnace.
Hey Jim is there anyway to add the new field piece Cat85 combustion analyzer to be able to connect to MQ! Please and thank you!

Jim I have the blue flame . I just received my new fieldpiece cat85. Are you planning on integrating the new fieldpiece combustion analyzer?
They aren't..
Hi Jim, I have a Bacharach Insight + about 2 years old firmware version 1.4 can I connect this to The measure quick app?
If it can generate a QR code on the screen. Go to the tool box and activate the option under data sharing tools.

Hey Jim you live on the edge with that battery life on your phone.
No guts no glory.

Also it’s free to use for measuring screen shots now etc.
