When I run U1, there are so many giant animals (rats, weasels, spiders, centipedes, ants), I always make that the result of the alchemist's experiments gone wrong and have potions of growth that the PCs can find and maybe even learn how to make.
I ran The Haunted Mansion as a Tekumel module at U-Con in Michigan last year. Love this. Also, the WotC Ghosts of Saltmarsh is a great book, including all the Saltmarsh content previously published in other sources (The Dragon, Dungeon, etc.). The town is fleshed out. I used both versions (kind of like Goodman's OAR books) when I ran it.
Now that is cool! I wonder how many gamers even know what Tekumel is.
I'd suspect lots of gamers do. Everyone else, probably not so much. @@bocconom

Great video gents! TSSS was one of my favorites as a player and 10-12 years later as a DM, great to see your take on a real classic.
I mixed this with bone hill. The pcs need to go to the alchemist house to get a possible cure for the rat bitten children
Very cool little dissertation here. I admit the module was lost on me back in the '80s, as it had landed around the time I had already begun playing Call of Cthulhu and was on a chaosium kick for a long while afterwards. But returning to this module as a matter of fact just recently and running it just last weekend.. I'll be it in a very modified version so that I could crush the whole thing down into two sessions has been a very satisfying experience.
Have to agree. Secrets of Saltmarsh is one of the all time Greats.
