I found Another Gospel to be really insightful, thoughtful and relevant!
I love your shirt and the clock in the background.
Oh my goodness, love your shirt!! 🤭 🐈⬛ 🍕
Haha, isn't it so great?!
Me, too❤
I feel like Shadow and Bone is fun, light summer read. I read the entire trilogy the year we moved here. I'm so excited you're joining in for Summer Book Bingo!
Maybe Shadow and Bone is a read-when-you-move series!
Great TBR for the month!! I really liked the Shadow and Bone trilogy.. I haven't gone on to read 6 of crows yet.
So glad you're back and the move went well! I just love your channel. You have been my motivation to read more and I have so many books I want to read purely from your suggestions. I read 3 books in May which is a record for me! I've never read that many in a month (nothing compared to what you read, but it was great for me!)
Yay, thank you so much for being here!
I'm very excited for you to read Shadow and Bone. I devoured all 3! I'm in a bit of a reading slump so not sure what I'll be picking up.
I'm doing the summer self education track from Little World Wanderers utilizing my TBR so still narrowing all that down. But a poet, myth, history, nature lore, science, fable, lit book, and homeschool- That one will be philosophy of Education also! I've read all her other 5 volumes, and portions of volume 6 but hoping to tackle all of volume 6 this summer!
A few I hope to read are The Housemaid's Daughter by Barbara Mutch (don't know much about it or the author, but it's historical fiction set in South Africa - I know that is of interest to you), Anne of Green Gables graphic novel, Rider's of the Purple Sage by Zane Grey, and Silent Labours by Gbile Akanni. And some poetry. Maybe Robert Service.
Pizza cats in space! 🤣🤣🤣 That is awesome!
Ghost toothbrush? 👀🤨😂
I’m happy you can finally read more again! I don’t have any hardcore reading plans but I’m actually doing both sides of the RYBC this month so THAT should be exciting, lol. Wish me luck. 😬😅
Ooh, yay for doing both sides this month! And yes, our house must be haunted, my toothbrush has never done it before moving here, it's the only reasonable explanation. ☺
@@ChantelReadsAllDay Of course that’s gotta be it. 😜 I think my house is haunted too so I feel your confusion. 😂👀
I feel your pain. I have to read every day or feel like precious time got away from me and I can’t get it back. 🤨
Same!
Shadow & Bone was fun! I read it last summer! I need to read books two and three this summer 😅I switched to the Doyle track for this section, I'm planning to read Project Hail Mary this month, but actually I could carry on with the Shadow & Bone series too, if I wanted.
Glad to hear you enjoyed Shadow and Bone!
I have Another Gospel to get to soon as well.
I really enjoyed the Shadow and Bones books
Your straight hair looks beautyful in this video😍😍
Aww, thank you!
For June I’ve taken the Doyle side and I’m reading “2001 A Space Odyssey”. I’m also planning to read “Pride and Prejudice” (a re-read), and I’m starting “Shogun” (which I plan to take slow). I’ll throw in a couple other reads for good measure-probably the children’s/middle grade series “Battle Bugs”.
Loved your video, thank you, Chantel! This month I will be tackling Dune... I remember you saying that you were not a fan, and its going fairly slow for me so far, but I just want to be able to say I tried haha! Almost done with Part One!
Oh no, you have a ghost in your new house! 😂 it turns on toothbrushes! I loved shadow and bone, 5 stars all the way! I’ve made a spinning wheel of all the books I currently have on my shelf (a lot are in storage) and I just spun Monster by Peretti.
Seriously, when I was looking up what was wrong with my toothbrush someone who had the same problem had written "I don't believe in ghosts but . . ." 😂 If I did believe in ghosts I'd be weirded out though because it never happened before moving here.
I was totally planning on putting Monster on my summer TBR, I know I read it back when it came out but I don't remember anything. Hopefully we both enjoy it!
@@ChantelReadsAllDay I gotta reply but I’m just gonna text!! 🤣🤣
@@ChantelReadsAllDay I can’t text you! It says “message blocking is active” LOL!
@@babyalive3569 it's the ghost! 👻
I LOVE PARKER PYNE! He's so much fun. They're not all solvable--some are just fun ways he helps people "be happy." It's a hoot.
The Charlotte Mason exhibit at the Armitt was a highlight of last year's Ambleside visit. Loved it.
I can't wait to hear what you think of Shadow & Bone. I keep wondering if I want to read it or not. :D
I'm doing something super cool in June. I just hope it works. EEEP!
I've had Another Gospel on my radar for a while, so I'm curious to hear what you think of that one. I got two books of poetry recently, one by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow and one by William Wordsworth, at a LFL and I'll probably read one of those for the Montgomery track. Doyle's track will depend on which fantasy book I finish first this month. I hope all goes well with all of the unpacking and settling in!
The books I plan to read in June include The Amber Spyglass (the third in His Dark Materials trilogy), The Assassin’s Blade, The Moorchild, and The Dead Guy Next Door.
Hi Chantel
I hope that you will enjoy all of these books as you are reading them.
Take Care & Happy Reading
❤️🤗📚🔰📖☕️🦋☀️🐾🐱🐾🌻🐝❤️
I'm glad the move went well. I'm on the Doyle side this month and reading The Light Pirate by Lily Brooks-Dalton.
Shelly Swearingen is doing a bingo board historical fiction readathon this month. ❤📚❤️. Oooo, so excited for Shadow and Bone Trilogy...need to read!!
Loved Shadow and Bones and the entire trilogy! Definitely start there.
Glad to hear I made the right decision!
I found a book yesterday called "Heidi" by Johanna Spyri, it looks good and I'm hoping for Secret Garden vibes.
Another Gospel is excellent! I am starting the Anne of Green Gables series in June as a re-read. I am going to start the Emma M. Lion series as well.
I hope to do a re-read of Anne next year and I'm already looking forward to it, I hope you enjoy it!
Yay, bonus video! I plan on reading Mrs. Pollifax and the Whirling Dervish, Vivid by Ashley Bustamante, and some books by Chautona Havig. I also have an Advanced Reader's Copy of Morgan L Busse's book coming out in August.
I really need to continue with Mrs. Pollifax!
Shadow and Bone should be read first! I read Six of Crows first and it was fine but it make more sense to start with Shadow and bone! I just didn’t know the first trilogy existed when I first read Six of Crows!
Those annotated Charlotte Mason editions are new to me! 😮♥️😁
They are fantastic! Except they've only done volume one and six for some reason. I'm not sure if they plan on doing the rest.
Interesting!
Love the shirt ❤❤❤
The books I plan to read in June are:
-the Brothers Karamazov
-Don Quixote
-11/22/63
-the Iliad
-Taliesin
-Green Earth(poems by Luci Shaw)
-Unfinished Tales
-Murder of Rodger Ackroyd
Your shirt is so cool and cute 😻
I plan on reading Tress of the Emerald Sea by Brandon Sanderson for the Doyle challenge and some classics for this month 😊❤
Yay, I hope you love Tress!
Me too☺️
❤
Isn’t it hard when you can’t figure out which book in a series to read first? When all else fails I depend on the original publication date.
@sarah’snightstand is doing #rollyournextread The game board looks super fun and very adaptable.
I'll check that out, thanks!
Do you happen to know if Walter's famous poem is in that book of L.M. Montgomery poetry? I've tried finding it online ever since reading Rilla, but I have determined it doesn't actually exist. It's just one of those brain itches I can't scratch. 😅
Oooh, I don't know right now but I'll look through!
I liked another gospel?
