I watched your original videos and obtained the book. I love making these villages. I hand sew the shapes and add embroidery in the form of French knots etc to make flowers and bushes. Every one turns out so differently and such fun to make. Thank you
Karen, I simply LOVE that you speak at a quick pace ! It is a pleasure to listen to you. And, of course, the designs are great! Keep on posting, please
I can feel the fun you have with this in your voice. I’m going to have to make one of these, it appeals to my inner child where I can just play with colours and shapes ❤️
If you use steam a seam or any other fusible the collage will be very thick and stiff. That is the reason I use just a dab of the tacky glue and the layer of tulle (very fine netting). After quilting the raw edges of the pieces are kept in place by the stitching and tulle. You won't get that look with paper backed fusible.

Glad you are having fun with the villages. I like your idea of adding embroidery. That is a nice finishing touch! Thanks for your comment!
Karen just seems such a genuinely pleasant person. I could listen to her all day!

I have ordered the book and waiting impatiently to start. I wonder if i can replace the glue with steam a seam.
