I'm just a wee UA-cam bee visiting his favorite spots. I am binging on your 'Meals of the week' vids. I enjoy so much your voice and personality. You have a calming effect that I can't explain.
Another brilliant video Cheryl! You are a bright spot in this dismal time. Jasper looks like such a love. I love it when we get a peak at his adorable face. Thank you so much for your videos. Hope you and yours are well and safe. From Upstate New York.
Greetings from the US! Wanted to say thanks for posting videos here, Cheryl. Your channel is so relaxing to me and I always get so excited when I see the next notification for your videos. Hope you stay well.
Love your weekly menu's they are all pipping hot!! and I just wanted to say love to hear Mr. What's for Tea once in a while..love to hear the Scottish Accents..anyhow thanks again for sharing.. Jasper looks very cuddly there and warm!
Hi Cheryl! Lynne from Quincy Massachusetts ( near Boston) USA. I love your videos not only do they give great inspiration for what’s to have for dinner ie tea. They are so beautifully presented. My family and I went to Scotland a few years ago and it gives us happy memories when we hear your voice!! When you open that B&B please let us know!
They all looked so delicious. It’s been quite fun trying to be creative to cook with what I have the last couple weeks. Hope you and your family are keeping well!
Yes!!! Sausage rolls! Please!!! I’m in the US so if you use a UK specific ingredient let us know a bit more about it so we can figure out an alternative. 😉😷
Another lovely round of meals! Your food is definitely comfort food which we all could use right now. We are keeping our sanity by taking long drives to the country and looking out the window at the beautiful scenery.
Many thanks Cheryl, a place of calm in a crazy world. We had cottage pie on Saturday, good old comfort food, you can't beat it. Same with sausage and mash. Looking forward to the sausage rolls.
Good Day Cheryl! Thanks so much for creating and sharing all your recipes. I love them so much and have shared them with lots of my extended family. You’re a hit! I’m making your sausage rolls tonight and am very excited. I’ll let you know how they turn out. Wish me luck. I just loved the look of that potato o’gratin with ham that Mr. What’s for Tea had with his pork chops. Could you makes a video for us preparing that? It would be a great recipe to master. As always thank you so much. Stay well and may we all get through this life unscathed. Bye for now.... John
I love your Jasper🙋♀️🧡🙏 Such a beautiful area you live in. So happy I found your channel, new subscriber here. Yes, love from the Pacific Northwest. 👋
Hi Cheryl, I love your channel, it has helped me to remember some of the meals I used to have as a child, and also to start cooking them again. Hope you and your family are all ok. By the way when I was a little girl ( many years ago) I used to live in Peterhead and we used to to the Isle of Arran on our hols xxxxxxx
We have family in the medical field. The nurses are the absolute backbone of the field. They are putting themselves and their family at risk. If you know a medical worker, from the janitor to the president of the place, thank them. Thank you Cheryl for the meal ideas and for the distraction in this time Ive been in self quarantine for over 2 weeks and still got sick. So please take care of yourselves and keep in touch with a shut in. Give them a call. God bless you all.
Gigi Dodson I have a medical background and am a researcher. I’m very sorry to hear you got ill and hope you recover quickly and well! Yes, our nurses are heroes! I’m nearly seventy, seriously chronically ill and disabled, so I and my hubby are being as careful as possible.
First time watching your meals of the week all the dishes looked delicious. You dont scrimp on the portions either which is good. Its Made me hungry now 😀X
I made your square sausage a few days ago. Turned out perfect. I was born and raised in Scotland but I married an American and I can’t get Square sausage here. I’ve tried to make it several times but this is the only recipe that actually tastes the way it should thank you thank you thank you. Keep well
I went shopping last week and couldn't find anything other than an random foods that I never buy, this week I was actually able to buy some fresh fruit and veg and food that we actually like. Being a key worker sucks at times
I must add tho. I'm not complaining at the end of the day food is food. It's the amount of waste that I've seen at the end of this week that I've seen that I'm disgusted about The amount of food people have thrown away before they able to eat it within it's use date that annoys me
Yes, it’s always important to wash fruits and veggies when you bring them home! Congratulations on your weight loss! Alas, I’ve been losing weight too, without trying. Nothing serious, just can’t eat enough because I’m ill. But! I was overweight and soon will be perfect! Take care, our dear Claire; you’re a treasure!
Hello Cheryl. New subscriber here. Your channel is fabulous, so glad I found you. It’s giving me loads of ideas for dinners, can’t beat a bit of home cooking. Going to butchers to get mince for the mince and onion round. I’ve binged on loads of your videos. Most enjoyable. Keep cooking👍
That better than bullion does make amazing broths and gravy! Its not readily available in the uk? I stopped buying packaged broths years ago. The groceries here were scarce...no ground beef or chicken at all but I've managed some pork, frozen burgers. I'll have to get some sausages and try the sausage rolls if you post them! We have a recipe in the south of the states called kolaches which are made with an Alabama sausage called Conecuh. It's so good. Stay healthy
I went today and there were markings on the floor where you had to stand 2 metres apart and there was a queue outside sainsburys restricting customers And there were gaps on the shelves. Good luck.
Hi Jasper 🐈 I made sausage rolls during the week and bridies to freeze. Can't get flour for love nor money and there's a birthday in the house this week 👀 Might have to buy a cake instead of making one 😳 Stay safe 😊
You have great Scottish Recipes, growing up nobody did recipes ! A bit of this and a bit of that ! So having recipes are great! Take care of you and yours! Your my bright spot of the day ! I reread your recipes still I think you should do a wee cookbook !! Some things I wanted to try but hadn’t a clue ? How much to use ? , and I found your great videos, couldn’t believe my luck, have to substitute some things but am finding others on Amazon.... I’m certainly going to try as many as possible ! You have shown us what marvelous things can be bought ! Scotland has never been praised by the food, but now I have recipes to say different !! My son in law is from South America and I was hoping for some great recipes , so I asked him what was the national dish he grew up on ! He replied Macaroni and cheese ! What a downer !
I saw the jalapeños in your grocery haul. I have a lot of great Mexican recipes I have collected from Americans of Mexican heritage. I can send some to you if you would be interested. My children tell me I have “become Scottish “ since watching your show. 😀😀
I didn’t know about the appreciation for the NHS until a friend told me about it after the event, I watched a couple of videos which showed it, it made me shed a tear. My son is a nurse, he loves his job, but he’s not working at the moment, he thinks he has the virus, so he’s now on 2 weeks isolation with his husband, who doesn’t have it, and hopefully won’t! I don’t worry myself sick over it, it won’t change the outcome, but I am concerned. Your roast potatoes look so delicious, as does your cottage pie. Rea Long’s comment made me think, it doesn’t matter what side of the pond you’re on, there are things we’d love to try. It’s a shame we can’t all do swapsies it would cost a fortune!
A very contented Pussy Cat there over the legs. I managed to get out to the Super Market on Friday for the Old Fogeys Hour at Tesco but no Rice and forgot to look for the flour. There was a long queue to the Checkouts but I thought it progressed about the same than usual in total. I envy you your local Butcher and I hope it is doing it's Social common sense with you all. I am looking forward to haveing a meal with you again halfway through the week :-D. BTW Canada is in America as is the USA Mexico etc :-).
Mmmm toast! We havent been able to get any bread for 8 days now I'm properly craving it now!!!! Hopefully get some tomorrow....and bog roll....I swear people are just being selfish now!!
Is baked beans with sausage rolls a Scottish thing? I'm an Aussie and I;ve never seen this before, and, all your meals look amazing as usual. Can't wait for the next video.
Cheryl could you show this American how YOU do roast potatoes, the peeled ones? I can roast them but you do them differently. I've read recipes but I can't get them all nice and brown like yours. Show us how, please.
Can you tell us how you make your beautiful roasted potatoes? The ones you had cut in half at the beginning of the week specifically. Mine never look as good as yours. I'm in the US so maybe you use something different on them than we do?
Something really interesting is your baked beans. My baked beans (and that I have had) are very different than yours. Beans are never served on toast or for breakfast. Most recipes for beans here are full of diced onions and smoked bacon, brown sugar or molasses, dry mustard and a BBQ style sauce. It's both sweet and savoury How do you make your beans?
Hello from the States! Love your videos! I am wondering if you have started making a separate tea for yourself on some days since you are doing Slimming World? Just curious. Also, Whole Foods does have wonderful homemade soups but they are expensive.
No shopping for me. The governor in my state just put a lockdown on anyone 65+ or with any chronic health issues. It’s supposed to reduce our chance of infection. But my sister works at a large retirement center (that includes everything from independent living units, through assisted living to a nursing home). The place is almost completely locked down now. Her main job nowadays is screening every person who wants in. No mask, no gloves - they just expect her to deal with them. She’s been threatened twice by family members she wouldn’t let in because they were running fevers.
I love your video's but I have a hard time watching them as you spin the plates round and round, it makes me feel a bit sick. Sorry but only giving constructive criticism. I do think you are an amazing cook though.
Thank you for the reminder about looking at your playlists for the Scottish-specific recipes!

Oh cottage pie is like shepherd's pie. At least my mom called it shepherd's pie. LOL
Loved this video. Always wondered what ages are your wee kids ? 🙂x
If you search "essential supplies to the isle of arran" on youtube you might like the views.
What kind of town doesn't have lemons? In another video you said you couldn't fine eggs. that's crazy!
I’ve just watched this one with my 19 year old son and he’s asked me to ask you if he can move in with you! 😂
Cheryl do you usually have 2 servings of vegetables for tea each day?
Is cottage pie the same as Shepherd's Pie?
Cottage pie is made with beef mince and Shepherds pie with lamb mince.
I love your video's but I have a hard time watching them as you spin the plates round and round, it makes me feel a bit sick. Sorry but only giving constructive criticism. I do think you are an amazing cook though.
