    Easy step to learn Korean consonants:
    1)ㄱ = g ->because it looks like a 𝗚un. (Notice, it starts with the letter that makes the sound.)
    2)ㄹ = r -> 𝗥attle snake (if it comes after a vowel, then you make it sound like “L.”)
    3)ㅋ = t -> like the gun but when you pull the 𝐓rigger and kill someone.
    4)ㄴ = n -> looks like a 𝐍ose
    5)ㄷ = d -> looks like a 𝐃oor
    6)ㅌ = t -> looks like 𝐓wo doors
    7)ㅁ = m -> looks like a 𝐌outh
    8)ㅇ = no sound (if it’s under a word like “방탄” which is Bangtan btw, you add “𝐍𝐠”)
    9)ㅅ = s -> looks like a 𝐒ad bear mouth
    10)ㅈ = J (if you look close and curve out the second line, it looks like a 𝐉.)
    11)ㅊ = ch (just keep in mind that the small - on top of ㅈ changes the whole thing into making a 𝐂𝐇 sound.)
    12)ㅎ = h -> looks like a man in a 𝐇at
    There are 14 basic consonants but my keyboard only shows 12😅
    Hope this helped, good luck learning Hangeul!

      @@philoconceptionist because people are focusing too much on 'why does it not sound like a g', when in reality it's not a g... it's a sound that most closely repersents a g, and changes depending on grammer rules. People can't wrap their minds around that. So, instead Sohyun is trying to get people to remember the sound, not the letter.

    [ㄱ] - 기욕 - Giyok/ giyog. And it's pronunciation is between "G and K"
    And here is some example :
    1. 고마워 = Gomawo = Thanks a lot
    2. 감사합니다 = Gamsahabnida = Thank you
    3. 고모 = Gomo = Aunt [But here is a similar word of aunt in Korean is "이모'' = Imo]
    4. 가방 = Gabang = Bag
    5. 가위 = Gawi = Scissors
    And here is the pronunciation between G & K
    . Not Gamsahabnida, not Kamsahabnida , It's Gkamsahabnida, but if we want to write this word then we have to write it Gamsahabnida.
    I hope it will help ful for you and my sweet eunni..!!

    This is absolutely PERFECT.
    It's simply explained an I love how you use real words (which help build vocabulary early on) to explain the alphabet while shying away from romanization!

    I will be starting to learn Korean at the Sejong Institute in Paris next September. Your lessons are so progressive so it is going to be really useful. The pronunciation of these in-between sounds is really tricky! But I think i have figured out what you mean. Nice to hear that Korean clarifies between aunts from dad's side and mom's side! About the background music, not really my cup of tea. Thank you for all your hard work. Best love from France.

    It's my first time to watch letter giyok after this video I already memorized it because it explains well additional samples for the word made clarify the letter, sound and sample word. I love you Unnie... because I really appreciated your effort. The next video to watch is Nieum and so on, If I would learned everything it's all because of you my Unnie. It is a big help to those people like me who wants to apply in Korea in a cheaper way. I'm hoping to meet, to thank you personally :)
