What is that white machine called that you playing stuff on and if you could put a link to one of them if you could that would be nice thank you if you could
I've just recently acquired a band saw which I've wanted for a long time. This video has opened my eyes to a lot when it comes to what mine should be capable of. Thank you for a great video mate 👍🏼👍🏼
I gritted my teeth so hard when he introduced resawing at 2:28, and the captions called it "Resoling a Riesling[...]". and several references later to resawing saw funny things like "Reese all", "Every stalling", and "wrestling". This video is basically a recap/refresher for most of a bandsaw class in a trade school, and then some. A fantastic video with great ideas. A few cuts would have had one of my teachers dock a few points when the hands were needlessly close to the blade. It was a great, clean, video to watch. Only thing I can remember from school that would add to this are bandsaw boxes.
I haven’t used my old 80’s model Craftsman 12 inch band saw and decided to make a set of Adirondack chairs for my son. I gave my saw a good checkout, luckily I saved the owners manual. The wheel tires were original so I purchased 2 new neoprene tires and won the stretch battle installing them. I went step by step on the setup and happily the saw works like if did in the 80’s. Thanks for the video and inspiring uses.
Brad, one of the reasons I like your videos, is you tell me when a corporation has sponsored and what they’ve done. Mainly because your good at what you do and how you explain. Thanks!
I would love to have a bandsaw like that! I am currently restoring an old (scrapped) model, replacing bearings on the wheels as well as dried up rubbers and the drive belt. Will be interesting to see see how it performs once completed.
Hey Jet you want to send me one for free ;) quickly outgrew my 9" one.

I’m a DIYer that does 1-2 projects a month at most, and I found that a lot of projects I need require a band saw. I kept my eye out for a used one but couldn’t find a decent deal and but the bullet on a brand new Ryobi. It’s not the best band saw but having a band saw has been an amazing addition to my collection.
Very well done Brad ... even though I have a bandsaw that I bought in the last year, I’m still learning to use it and this gave me some great ideas. I like your approach to explaining things, that’s easy to understand and useful. Thanks for continuing to provide good content in a friendly manner.
Buying my 1st bandsaw this week so checking out video's. your's is by far the best, well spoken with clarity and no BS along the way. Thank you I have subscribed.
I just bought a 14 inch bandsaw, I really needed one a year ago. When I bought it I could not remember why I could justify $1200.00 for the thing. Now I remember, resawing expensive wood for boxes. Thanks . I liked and subscribe to your channel.
There was a UA-cam video on how to make a chair out of a single 2X6 that was 8 feet long. Some of the pieces required you to cut the board in half or 3/4 by 3 inches tall. I found out real quick that it was too dangerous to cut on a table saw and would be a perfect job for a bandsaw. I just ordered one saw will have one in my shop in the next week or two.
The fence on that Jet looks AMAZING! I never considered one so tall. It doesn’t look like they sell it separately though. Already have a band saw with FYI fences, but would love one so big.
👍👍 great information. Thank you for posting this. I think peoples biggest failure when it comes to band saws is, it is a finesse machine - not a freaking chain saw. Use them wisely & not beyond their capabilities & you will be pleasantly surprised ☺️
As an aspiring wood worker, you may have convinced me to save up for a big bandsaw, rather than start with a benchtop saw that would have limited use. Very informative video, thank you!
Thanks, Brad! Good, informative content with great editing. Nothing worse than some guys breathing, saying "uh" 100 times, to make a 50 second video into 10 minutes. You're a PRO!
Hello from Indonesia. Thank you for a great and sharp review, now I am very certain to owning a bandsaw. By the way, your English speaking is very clear for non English native speaker like myself👍👍
Great video Brad! Thank you! Would you consider producing a video that talks about what to consider when looking to purchase a bandsaw? What have you learned? Differences between models? Again, thank you for the tutorial!!
Hey mate you have a really great voice for explaining. Lots of woodworking channels on UA-cam with lots of tips but you have probably got the clearest and easiest to listen along voice. Found myself listening intently even though I already knew all of what you said. Thanks mate. Subscribed’
bandsaw is my next investment i think. i realised this after trying to cut some notches into wood and not being able to get them 90degrees no matter how i tried. i also want one with a decent (6"+ height of cut which bumps up the price but if you are going to get one you may as well get one that can repurpose wood like you do. i get a lot of bits of wood too that nothing else can really work with.
Boy, that was great! I'm a newbie and I was checking out what exactly is a band saw and what can it do. Very instructional. Love the book ends. I must have 1 now. :D
My main use is doing angle cuts so that of a mitre saw, and 2nd use is re sawing instead of table saw, so it does both things that i need in a single machine saving me the cost of 2, I was on a budget so band saw was the perfect answer
Thanks Brad all very helpful tips, i just need a whopping big Bandsaw now as i only have a Bench Top model, oh well dreams are free at least ha ha ha. Barry (ENG)
Great video. If you have an accurate bandsaw you can actually use it for general rip cuts. I am a cabinet maker and I use my bandsaw for cutting the vast majority of my hardwood stock. I throw my stuff through a drum sander or a helical head planer after sawing, so the bandsaw is a fantastic tool for ripping. I have a Laguna 14/12
Nice demonstrations on how to use the band saw. I have a few pieces of cedar leftover from a pergola that i would like to try and cut down to make a plank wall. Now to find a band saw...
Fantastic video, so much good information and perfect pacing as well. The last tip is why I need to upgrade my little bench top bandsaw, I have so many random logs and scraps just waiting to have the good pieces extracted from them. Thanks Brad!👍

I was just about to say Alex Snodgrass. I've meet him in person he's very skilled on the band saw, any band saw.
What is that white machine called that you playing stuff on and if you could put a link to one of them if you could that would be nice thank you if you could
@Big boi alot of money but look at the grizzly brand.
Inherited a full set of woodworking equipment and this info was exactly what I was seeking. Thank-you! Great video!
I'm envious... My father was a clown to wood working.
I just inherited a 90's Delta 14" band saw, what is the next machine I should get? A joiner maybe?
GREAT use of the listener’s time with tons of understandable, practical tips. Thank you!

thank you! I always want to be transparent with any paid sponsorships.
Bookmatching and gluing the two pieces together is a great tip. That joined piece looks awesome. I always enjoy your content.
I was just about to buy a G0555 on CL when my wife said "why do you need to buy a bandsaw?" Brad, you're an angel! Perfect timing!
Glad to help! 😂😂
This video is really helpful in giving me a clear picture of the versatility that the bandsaw offers especially as a novice DIY retiree ! 😊 Tim

Go minimum 14" cast iron job. There are tons of them out there used and you can buy the riser block for them to get 12 inches of resaw height.
@@dangermartin69 Thanks for the advice! I will keep it in mind!

I’m pretty sure its ability to cut multiple pieces at a time is going to be a huge help in the shop.
Your video was well done. Lots of usable information. Thanks...
I've had a Ryobi bandsaw that I bought years ago simply because it was at a great price - but I've never used it. Now I have a reason too😊

Thank you for this. I was on the fence since I have a jig saw. This looks much easier for curves. Also can use to reuse wood. And make even boards
Tks for the class men!
Man really useful video!! Took things that took me a couple of years to learn and condensed it into 9 minutes. Good stuff!
Glad you liked it!

It makes getting good free lumber a lot easier.
Great video! Can you do a follow up with the use of different size blades, storage of those blades and general bandsaw maintenance?
