Saw Hamiet in Chicago in the 80s when he was with the World Saxophone Quartet. He blew me away...

Pretty amazing how three spare instruments (no arpeggio or chord style accompaniment) can generate so much musicality. Always throbbing and inventive, rhythmically complex to the level of genius, but always right on and saying something-all three of them. Talk about being exposed! You have to be really good at your game to do this.

Why is he playing his baritone on a stand.

You hang baritone around your neck for 50 years and my guess is you would use a stand also :) Most of the big band baritone players used stands back in the 20s and 30s. Much easier on the body over a lifetime of playing the big horn.

He should be wearing a neck strap

That sucker is heavy! I have one with the low A and as I've gotten older, I use a shoulder harness to take the strain off my neck. I don't blame him, and he still plays the shit outta that horn!
