If you'd seen the leaks, you'd know that Reca's model has something to do with a frog. And Gama means "toad". So, no, the monkey theme isn't his, actually. The Osaru one is pretty much 99% Dr Primitive.

Those monkeys belong to Dr. Primitive not Mr. Reca. In the trailer, Mr. Reca is just busy filming the whole battle between Rappa's Ninja gang and Dr.Primitive. Mr. Reca is a crazy cinematographer. He likes filming dramatic, chaotic and unpredictable movies. Mr. Reca's assistant is a frog.

I think I get what the banana thing is about now. So, in Houkai Gakuen in one of the more recent chapters there's a cosplay contest and HYV's no 1 chunni Kyuushou enters the contest but loses to contestant no 7 for not being chunni enough. In Japanese nana (七) is 7. So Rappa is contestant no 7 it seems like.

Honestly, I was more hoping for a "How did you do that?!?" "I'm a freaking Ninja, that's how!" approach. You know, a little bit more casual.
This way of speaking "like in ye olde days" along with her extremely modern design and rapping seems somewhat... forced I guess.
