I needed that 3 for 1 special. The dummy settings practice the anti-air, the reaction to DI, and the PC Combo. These are my biggest weaknesses right now. Thank you.
Execution is what ive struggled with the most (combination of always having had these problems in games no matter the genre and also switching from modern to classic), hopefully this can help me actually land a decent combo on purpose instead of by sheer luck lol
3:21 Didn't know that inputs worked this way. The whole time, I'd thought that after each move, I'd have to separetely input the motion I'd wanted for the next move as if it were new- not that you could "share" motion inputs between moves.
True!! Probably my 2nd favorite genre of games. Getting a 1cc is so satisfying and it’s nice to have an objective way to see how much you’ve improved lol
I switched from arcade stick (had to sell it for an emergency) back to the pad. I still feel like a cripple occasionally (I main Guile, go figure) as my movement is further hindered, the boom loops tire my fingers out quite quickly, or my hands will sometimes freeze on anti airs/I will sometimes forget my buttons placement in tense situations even though I have somewhat gotten used to the mapping I have chosen.
@@LeeZard27 I switched from stick to leverless around 4 months ago and I still feel like I would be better on stick sometimes. Don’t worry though, if you keep practicing you’ll get more and more comfortable, and eventually, it’ll feel just as good as playing on stick.
One thing that troubles me to this day is inputting fireball after forward walking and getting a dp. Most commonly when doing 2mk>236p I kinda wish there was a setting where dp's only come out when you end on or hold 3.
Completely agree. One trick I've found for 2MK > fireball is just holding down the kick button while you do the fireball motion and press punch. That helps me not get jinrai kick when I play Ken. For not getting DP, I think the key is to do the motion slower, even though it feels wrong. You can also try to make a habit of inputting it as 1MK instead of 2MK.
Yeah! Go to reversal settings, and under block reversal, set your opponent to do whatever attack you'd like. Then press square (light punch for me) and change the count setting to however many times you want them to block.
I'll give the shmup a try. Also can you do a vid on combos tutorials and confirm hits on combo mode like the trials. I have not seen a vid like that yet. What you did with ken was great. ✌🏾
I could do one breaking down more specific parts of execution, and breaking down some more advanced combos! First though, I want to finish this fundamentals 101 series and have 4 planned videos left.
@@nicholasarana1555 those ones are super tough, I can’t think of anything else in the game that really feels like it. Reminds me a bit of doing Karin’s tenko or orochi in street fighter 5
I watched this and realised how much I’ve learned over the years of playing fighting games, like the whole time watching this, I was thinking this is common knowledge. I was lowkey hoping for some shortcuts I didn’t know.
It's crazy how much knowledge we just accumulate over time, without ever really realizing it. I wanted to start off this channel making content for beginner-intermediate players, and after my fundamentals series is done, I'm wanting to make a bit more advanced content.
@@The.Rat.99 i didn’t mean in a bad way my dude XD I was just surprised seeing a video about common stuff people do in the fgs. I’ll definitely be sending this video, whenever a bring a friend into a fighting game. And for shortcuts, I’ll give u one, a fast way to do a dp on pad is to double tap df, this even works while crouching.
@@Shorins22 frfr years ago I thought doing a simple ewgf, kbd ect was impossible, now I’m playing multiple fighting games, and hitting ranks I never dreamed on hitting. Next stage for me is to go to locals and really get into the fgc.
@@yoshitsune5691 I feel you on that lol, I started in 2016 and I thought I would never be able to do karin's just frame tenko consistently, kbd, or instant airdash. If i could go back then and tell myself I would be doing well in my locals, going to majors, and would end up hitting 1900 mr (not that I would know what that was lol), I wouldn't believe myself. Thanks for the tips man! I'm switching from modern to classic and your tips have really helped me.

1:44 bro saw me doing this down the hall and had to throw it in the video
I did actually the same with Mushi, damn that soundtrack hits hard :)

Bro I literally just cleared mushi on original wtf. Fighting games and shmups go so well together it’s a shame more people aren’t into them

very good video thanks
Okay but how do I beat mena?
I wish I knew
Answer you don't lol
He use ps5 controller so i don't think is the controller
Is there a way in sf6 training mode you can get the dummy to do an attack after x number of blocks?

Struggling with Chun Li's serenity stream cancel combos. Switched from ps4 controller to keyboard and it's easier but still challenging

Clickbait. Didn't get any tips on how to improve my capital punishment
I play some arcade games with my stick and 2D platformers like Megaman
Along with difficult but fun fg trials like KoF 13 or Blazblue
@@bearnip I love KoF!
