Haha, during the movie don't you see the same monster entering multiple doors? I'm pretty sure they just have a specific quota with a specific ammount of doors: Lets say 10 doors within a certain ammount of hours. Some kids have similar fears which can apply to a single monster.
I know you meant it sarcastically and I agree? It might not seem so in my sentence, but I really did get what you were saying, only I don't remember M.Inc so well and was sorta asking for confirmation
Now, I can only imagine Andy, when randel comes in, being prepared, with So many toys laid out in a battle situation, and randel running from a army of living toys.
VideoGame Madness//VGM 😊😊there is actually proof that toys can move in the monsters inc world.... there is an article by Jon negroni on jonnegroni.com you should check it out I really enjoyed it!😊😊
I could see Woody and Buzz setting up at trap for Randel, making it look like Andy was in the bed when he was at a friend's house and attacking him when he came.
Plus, it's been shown that buster takes commands from woody. If the dog barked and woke up Andy's mom, Randall could've gotten chased out, assumed that Andy planned the attack, and gotten the door shredded.
I remember hearing somewhere that in Monsters University, when Mike tries to prove that he can be a scarer after the tournament, he ends up in a cabin. Upon further inspection, you'll find Andy himself in the scene. So, it's possible that when Andy goes to Cowboy Camp, he encountered one of the Monsters. This would've made great evidence.
If Andy's door is spotted in MU and that was years before Randall started working at Monsters Inc. Andy's door could have been destroyed before Randall started working there because like the video said his door wasn't spotted in the door warehouse. Being a mother makes you look too much into kids films because you watch them a million times.
In theory, if Randall was like any normal university student he would finish college in 4 years. If Andy’s door was being developed at this time, who’s to say he was even born yet. He may have been n infant who wouldn’t understand a monster probably until he was around 3 or 4. By this time Randall could have graduated and been Andy and or even Molly’s monster. Molly and Andy shared a room during the first story I believe. So if Randall isn’t Andy’s monster he could very well be Molly’s. Each Easter egg would still make sense😉
I notice there are still an awful lot of comments on here saying that Randall is Boo's monster so can't be Andy's. Clearly you need to look at his video explaining how the scare floor works and/or the description of this video - the monsters don't scare just one kid each!
Also there’s the fact that the monster isn’t just gonna stop scaring when their kid outgrows them, as boo’s young and he had to go back to monsters university to find Andy’s door.
Um... what you said about Claws being Sid's monster... no- well not the one who almost touched him. As his helper said: "You didn't scare _her_, _she_ was only 6!" Unless they thought sid was an ugly little girl...
+Imogen Lamplugh Sid has a SISTER, though. And in the first Toy Story, it's shown that Sid has tried to scare his sister so often she's just kind of over it by now. She's hard to scare. Maybe it's not SID, but his sister. That would also explain the poster being in a different position - maybe it changed hands.
But then it makes you think.... If Randell was Andy's monster, and the toys come to life when the humans are not around/asleep/being scared themselves (e.g. Sid Phillips) would there be times when Randall was...unsuccessful, at scaring Andy? We've seen that Woody has already demonstrated that he has competent leadership skills, and an undying loyalty to his friends And with Buzz to back him up, there's nothing they can't do Would it be possible that, Andy may have woken up in the middle of the night and saw his toys beating the snot out of Randall, and Woody who didn't expect his favorite deputy to wake up in the scuffle, convinced him that he had nothing to be afraid of anymore, but Andy thought he was having a dream, a very realistic dream, but still a dream Probably why Randall is so bitter now, because he got his butt kicked by an army of toys and hasn't lived it down
How the heck would someone get over the trauma of one of those monsters roaring in their faces again and again? I wouldn't be able to do it. Or maybe the monsters destroy the door before any lasting trauma happens? I don't know. But those are some tough kids.
I agree if I was a little kid again and a lizard was trying to scare me (and it would probably succeed) I would be sleeping in my parents room for the rest of my life.
It could be fair that Randall is Andy's monster. When you were talking about the Scare Floor on 4:11, when they showed Andy's wallpaper, I was actually thinking they used that for Randall to warm up.
Wait. What if when a kid grows up and if they still remember their monsters, by a certain age they dont remember the monsters, but animals? So Andy would see a lizered and Boo would probably remember a kitty,
Nicky van Bezouw Yep, you're right. The theory has to do with how the witch in Brave "dissappears" through a door when Merida tried to go back inside the hut, and that the monsters in Monsters Inc. also travel through doors.
I didn't even notice, but when you watch monsters inc near the end of the movie Randal gets thrown in a hillbilly's closet and well basically no more giant newt coming out of Andy's closet ever again.
I honestly think that Andy's wall paper in Monsters Inc. was just an Easter egg. It seems like a stretch. Andy's door might have existed in the monster world but that's no guarantee that Randall was even around when it was being used, let alone scaring with it. This theory is very convincing though and I enjoy how much enthusiasm they present :) .
When that one monster runs out screaming because the kid almost touched him, another monster says something like "What? She's only 6 years old!" Unless Sid is transgender and his parents let their child have a sex-change operation (highly unlikely), that kid couldn't have been Sid. I suppose it could have possibly been Hannah, assuming she has the same poster as her older brother. The Randall-Andy hypothesis could work though. Of course, there's nothing to say that monster couldn't also have happened to be Sid's monster, just that Sid was probably not the one who scared the monster in that particular scene. Then again, maybe that other monster misspoke and actually meant to say 'he'.
In Toy Story 1, Sid likes scaring his sister, maybe a possibility that Sid acknowledged the monster and tried to scare her sister by locking her in his room or something like that with the monster, (Claws).
Or maybe the monsters just don't know the difference between boys and girls. The movies made it pretty clear that monsters don't know allot about humans.
This is why the Pixar Universe Theory is dumb. Why don't we see any toys moving around in Monsters Inc? And superhero kids like Dash and Violet could easily beat these monsters with their powers.
I don't think Randall but maybe a similar monster and maybe that cloud wallpaper belonged to a different child. Remember that Monsters University and Monsters Inc are set in different times. At the time in MU, Randall was still learning how to scare, and remember that they're still freshman so they had multiple years to go (unless time moves differently in the monster world) so by the time Randall would graduate and go to Monsters Inc, Andy would be too old for monsters. You may be thinking, but what if Andy is born on a later date? Andy's parents would have no need for a spare room so they would have a smaller house, it could be a storage room but they already have an attic. But hey, that's just a theory! Crap wrong channel....
+TheDerpyNoobGamer Maybe Randall did so well he graduated with enough credits after one semester = also maybe he practiced on that to be prepared because it was hard? O_O!
did u see how old andy was he was like 9 too me tru that it couldn't be randall and that could be his door and u might be tru that he could've scared another child but what about a child was living in Andy's house before he was even born and what if that child had that wall paper before andy and probably when andy moved in he just liked it and left it like that
My one problem with this is that A: if we see Andy's door in Monster's University, then that means it would be likely be a monster from in that time period, and not Randal, who come several years later.
The kid that lived in Andy's house before him was Andy's dad. Andy's family lives in his late father's childhood home. Just watch the video 'What happened to Andy's Dad?'. So Randal could have wound up being Andy Jr's monster.
Shadow Star58 but the Andy's door from Monster's University is still in the lab. It may actually have been a year or two before the door was introduced to Monster's Inc.... OR, maybe Randall used Andy's door in college during a project. That's why he has the wallpaper background to test his camouflage against.
Good theory, Reminds me of a horror movie IT (don't watch it!) where a shapeshifting clown goes around tormenting kids, when the kids grow up they just slowly forget about the clown, much like Andy slowly forgot about Randall.
It's silly to think that a monster scares only one child a day, like think how long a day is, I think it would be more like four to five, done is shifts like prep, scare, monsters go for a little bit while they prep a new door ect
On top of that, there are other shifts of monsters who use that scare floor when the monsters in the movie go home for the day. Plus, that scare floor is awfully small for as gargantuan as the Monsters Inc. factory is from the outside. Granted, a significant portion of that space is likely door storage, but during the chase scenes in the warehouse, we see hundreds and hundreds of doors moving around - some going in, some going out - so where are all of those doors going out to? They all can't be going to the scare floor we see, that only had, what, six or seven cradles? (I honestly don't remember, it's been years...) Even if each cradle were used up to a dozen times per shift, that still wouldn't account for how many are being constantly moved around - remember those hundreds cited earlier are only the ones we see on screen at that moment, there are probably thousands more being moved around off screen all day long. I'm going to say that there are multiple scare floors throughout the factory, all being used throughout the day. It's likely the scare floor we see is where the top scarers are promoted to, making it the top tier scare floor of the factory, which is why it's on all the tours, but there are probably dozens of lower tier scare floors where new hires, older monsters who are about to retire, and monsters who just aren't the best get assigned. But that's just a theory...
Ahh this is true but watch the movie again and you will see it Randell practices in front of many different wallpaper backgrounds.... One of them being Andy's. It is entirely plausible.
The claw monster was assigned to scare a 6 year old girl, not sid. He has a sister though. So it is likely that his sister took the poster. But She doesn't look like she would do that.
Or maybe just because this isn't Sid's toom at all. Posters aren't just sold and shipped exclusively to a single person. Heck, it's not even in the same POSITION. It was probably just some other "hardcore" girl.
It could be that Sid didn't want his poster anymore so his sister took it because she thought it looked cool or something, or maybe Sid did a little remodelling in his room, thus moving the poster, and while he was out of the house, his sister snuck in to get her doll back and encountered a monster on her way
When the monster came out and when they asked him what was wrong in Monster's Inc, didn't his scarer co-worker said it was a She and said she was only 6 for ''Sid's room''?
the reason the number of monsters and kids doesn't add up is because the monsters double up on kids taking on multiple assignments. and doing more than one kid
Yeah, I noticed that too. Then I knew that girl couldn't have been Hannah. But then again. Andy and Sid were both 17 years old when boo was either 4 or 5. That means that when she was 2, they were both 14-15 years old. No wonder they grew out their monsters. But back to the whole poster thing, since they grew up maybe Hannah turned from flower tea party girl to grungy rock chic. The only thing that doesn't add up is the age of the girl and Hannah.
thebrick11 It was probably just someone else's room, who happened to have the same poster. I mean Sid can't be the only kid in the entire world with that poster. However either way it does still say that the two movies are in the same universe, regardless.
Pixar has made it abundantly clear at this point that they're trying to build a shared cinematic universe and what's more, it's WHOLLY ORIGINAL which is more than can be said for any of the others. So I vote that we stop treating Pixar movies like standalones and start calling this what it is: the Pixarverse.
We know that Boo was alive in the 1950s. At this point, Monsters discovered laughter. We also know that Andy's father had owned Woody in the 1950s. So, by the time little Andy was alive Monsters were harvesting laughter. Young Andy did not have Randall as a monster. However, Randall may have been the Monster for Andy's Dad, since Andy was living in the house his Dad grew up in.
Ok but here is another piece to this. The most traumatic thing that has happened to Andy thus far in his life is his father DISAPPEARING from his home.
Sid has a sister. So maybe, she was in his room and she tried to touch Sid's monster and that's why he yelled "She was this close to touching me!" Or you know he didn't know the difference between a female and a male child. I do believe that Randall is Andy's monster. But, half of Andy's wallpaper is white. So, maybe Randall maybe had to climb along the walls swing down and scare him? But, if Andy was asleep when Randall came out, how would he know to put the sticker on the door? Did he just think Randall came out of the door because, like many children, they thought the monster comes out of the closet or under the bed? Also, in the comments, someone said that maybe the kids remember the monsters as animals. I do support that, because Boo calls Sully "kitty". And the fact that Andy had a "Newt crossing" sticker supports that. I think that's why Mike wasn't a scarer. You had to look animal-like. But, I'm pretty sure there are some non animal-like monsters who are scarers.
+Gecko o Remember that every monster was specially assigned to the characteristics to scare each child individually, Maybe this monster did not meet the characteristics to scare Sid's sister.
If you saw the door in a monsters university clue, then Randall wouldn't be working at monsters inc yet. If andys door was destroyed before monsters inc, then Randall wouldn't be his monster
😒😒😒Guess what? Andy probably wasn't even born yet!!! And even still who's to say his Randall didn't eventually become his monster? The theory isn't that his door is destroyed but that it could have been since he was getting older. Just because his door wasn't shown in the movie doesn't mean it was destroyed yet. Hell, it could've still been active after they did the switch to laughs over scares... Ever think about that? Huh? 🤔
In Monsters Inc, Randall And Sully are both going for the all time scaring record. Considering that this has never been done, they must be pretty experience. They have probably been working there LONG before Monsters Inc was made, meaning that Randall could have been his monster. Also, A different master could have scared Andy at one point. He might have retire when Andy was young though, so Randall took over. Or it could be another kid in his room. Or it could just be a movie easter egg for promotion, because that makes the most sense instead of Pixar theory. So many possibilities!
During the credits of Monsters University, it says Randall graduated in 1994. Assuming that Toy Story was set in the "present" and the monster world is continuing at the same speed, then Toy Story came out in 1995, and at the beginning, Andy had his 6th Birthday. 1999 (Toy Story 2), Andy was 10. So Monsters, Inc (2001) - That would make Andy 12. Now, it could be that the monster world progresses at a faster speed than humanity, or that the monsters are scaring Andy's sister Molly instead (She was 1 in Toy Story - making her 6 or 7 in 2001). If you look in her room during the first two movies, she doesn't have a closet, which would make monsters have to come through Andy's.
1:13 but, the monster says: "She got this close to me! She almost touched me!" And, the other monster replies with: "...are you kidding me? She was only six!"
MrsFullbuster well, sid is scared by the toys. and i think his sister is used to being scared by her older brother and maybe she just thought it was her brother messing with her.
+MrsFullbuster Not to mention _all of monster society_ is powered by tanks of child screams, and it seems like one child can only fill one tank in one scare "session", even if you're one of the company's best. There _are_ several scare floors, presumably all roughly the same size, but still, the best shot at a relatively small group (maybe a hundred or so) of monsters to power an entire city would be if they each had a collection of ten, twenty, maybe thirty or forty kids, depending on the length of a work day and processing times.
coconut eater But MU takes place in the past, and in Monsters Inc., the vast majority if not the entirety of the company is centered around collecting children's screams. More powerful or not, adult screams just aren't a truly viable option for powering an entire world.
Except...when the Claws monster comes screaming out of the door he says "The kid almost touched me, *she* got this close to me" to which his partner replies "She wasn't scared of you? She was only six!" so that would spoil the theory that he was Sid's monsters. Maybe Molly's, but she definitely seemed older than six.
in the vid he mentioned that the poster was also in a different position so personally i think this signals overlapping universesrather then sid having a monster because another child could have had that poster too
exactly my thought. thou I thought first for a moment that it might only be in the translation to my language where they said "she" xD checked comments to look for one exactly like this one. thanx mate
I KNOW HOW TO DISPROVE THIS THEORY!!! In the one scene in monsters inc. Sully and Mike have boo (the little girl) in there apartment. and when Sully is putting her to bed, Boo gets scared and looks at the closet door. Then she shows Sully a drawing of Randal that she made. Then Sully says: " Oh, Randal's your monster!" so that makes Randal boo's monster!
werethegamers32 32 but boo is younger than Andy so maybe Andy had Randal before boo did so Randal would be Andy's monster before boo's monster because Andy would of out grown it before boo came does that change ur mind
Pete "Claws" Ward can't be Sid's monster because his assistant said "She was 6." meaning that it was a girl. But, maybe he could be Hannah's, Sid's little sister, monster
MUST READ PLS. IM A GENIUS (sorry for patting myself on the back.)There is evidence to back this up. For example, I just thought of this. In the film, Randall steals that door after time to scare boo. Technically, he isn't meant to be her monster. Maybe Randall was destined to be Andy's monster. If anything, Sulley was destined to scare Boo. Cause if you've watched Monsters University, you would know that only certain characteristics can scare certain kids. When Sulley was forced to roar by his boss (forgot his name lol), He scared Boo. Technically, Sulley fit the requirements and could've been Boos monster.
Sergio Rodriguez Well thats is because Randall was already Boo's scarer and it turned out that Boo was scared of both Randall and Sulley. But that theory could be legit and just maybe Randall was destined to be Andys monster, or he was already before coming across Boo.
Rednightwingz It's not like the monsters only go to one door a night. Chances are, they go through hundreds of doors every night. He could easily do both.
so many people in this comment section do not use their brain. "randy is boos monster." did y'all not see the door wearhouse? you seriously think one monster per door so one monster poor kid? if you watch the movie you clearly see them going through multiple doors, scaring multiple kids. Smh. people don't think.
MasterTryh4rd plus if scaring kids is their job the. Its assumed at least 8 hours worked per day since they clock in and out then they woukd have multiple. I doubt they spend 7 hrs 4min just warming up then going to scare
You have NO IDEA how many comments I've found spreading that trash around! Thanks! P.S. By trash I meant people saying "Randall is Boo's monster so he can't be Andy's". Not what you said! Just to let you know.
Here's why that doesn't make sense: Andy's door is used during the time period of Monsters University, which means that Randal was in college during the time of Andy's door, which they don't have during Monsters Inc. Andy's door isn't used during the time of Monsters Inc and that's the time when Randal working at Monsters Inc, meaning Randal was a monster when Andy is grown up And put of age for a monster. In other words, Randal was in college when Andy was in age for a monster. So if Andy did have a monster, it wasn't Randal.
***** So your saying that when he joined fear tech, he snuck off just to practice and he was always unnoticed and that he always just happen to practice on Andy
Amanda Johnson But think about it- All of those times he could've sneaked away, using his power, in either movie that he didn't, if only for plot convenience so he can be defeated. Granted that's how stories tend to work but do you really think it'd only be that way for the stories we see, or that the same would be expected by that character all the time? Does he suddenly change off camera and use his power to never get caught? Probably not. And I think these just make you look wayy to into it. There are still things that can help support the theory, but others that shoot it down completely. Trying to find an alternate route for an already developed story doesn't make it real, it's more fan fiction at that point.
Jacob Pena Well, Andy's HOUSE is certainly older than Andy is. Who knows, maybe monsters build doors that connect to ANY closet in EVERY house and they don't become active scaring doors until a kid lives in that room. If they built the door during MU then maybe it's just because the house had been recently built and they were preparing a door for whenever a kid would come to live there.
Good job cracking the case! And I have to say that I’m always impressed at how the Pixar folks tie in all these little details. I love the lore they are creating!
I paused the video at 1:20 because there is something that needs to be pointed out and i can't wait till the end of the video. When the monster in Monsters Inc. runs out of the kids room because the kid wasn't scared of him, he said "The kid almost touched me, she got this close to me!" If the child he was supposed to scare is a girl then there is NO WAY ON EARTH that it was Sid. Still great video though! :)
Boo isn't the girl who owned Jessie because in Toy Story 2 she sang a song about how her owner grew up and no longer loved her and Andy was still a kid at the time.
+hungryninja123 yes there are multiple buzz's but since woody and Jessie are older toys they are more rare. That's why in toy story 2 Al is collecting them and they are going to a museum. So after some particular year, the amount of kids that would have it (especially in good condition) would be extremely low.
Merve Ipek But Jessie's owner lost Jessie, who ended up with Andy... Who gave it to Bonnie... What if Bonnie was Boo's mother who passed it down to her?
wouldn't it be fun if Pixar made a spin off movie about Monsters coming to scare a kid and their over protective toys make a stand against them? You'd need a Pixar twist where the monsters and toys find common ground but I would enjoy seeing it.
If we only see Andy's door during Monster's U, wouldn't that stand to reason that Randall isn't Andy's monster? Since he was in college during the events of Monster's U?
+tobineko This doesn't mean the door was used a d scraped right away, it could have been kept in storage or used by another monster until Randal eventually worked there, maybe Andy was a baby at the time Randal was in university which would make him about the right age.
The only issue I have is that Randall is likely still in college when these door are being made, and with Monsters Inc occurring years after Monsters University, why would Andy's door still be in rotation after all this time? Unless time passes differently in the monster world (which would explain how they scare so many kids in each timezone with working literally 24/7) then I don't see how Andy could remain in a scarable(?) state for all those years...
It might be possible that Andy and his little sister have the same Monster. If his sister ended up with his room later on it would makes sense to still have the door in rotation or still using the wallpaper as warm up.
Shelby Miller But don't you think that wouldn't be the case? Sure some time has passed and all, given their ages, but you'd think that if Andy clearly made fun of his childhood with that little sticker that he'd help his little sister get through it pretty easily too, if only by just being in the same room and watching. I mean, the monsters just open a door, they don't know what the environment's like until they've been there. Their whole point of going in is to scare the kid and get out without being touched or anything. We've seen what happens if they interact with the environment. It just doesn't seem likely that they'd take that chance, let alone when there is another human there, possibly helping to end the situation quicker than expected. In which case, there wouldn't be too much evidence to support it, would there?
Slushi Simcambi No. She was a toddler in the first Toy Story (probably aged somewhere from 3-5) so by the Toy Story 3, she would probably be 10-13 years old and many 10-13 year olds are scareable. The cut off age for scaring would probably be at 15 or somewhere closer to adulthood so Sid's sister would still be young enough to be scared.
+Miguel Alvarez actually, Sid'd sister was six, and actually pretty brazen towards Sid, but it could be possible that Claws was Sib's monster, and his younger sister came in to maybe retrieve one of her mutilated toys, resulting in her seeing the monster and being intrigued by his blue color and a curious 6 year old, tried to touch him. I'm not curtain, though, so don't take my word on it.
SuperCarlinBrothers Wow! You actually replied. Tbh I fangirled a little when I saw you replied to me. Keep doing what you're doing, you guys are AMAZING:)
I know this is late but it couldn't be Randell.. If Andy was getting scared at the time of mike and sully going to the university.. So was Randell. Randell wasn't a scarer at that time. So it couldn't have been Randell.
+bruce wayne Well we can't say that for sure either.. We don't know the time difference between the two worlds. Time in the monster universe appears to be faster than the human world as Boo is with them for a long time, but upon her return, nothing about her room has changed as if she was just in it. By that time, someone else could've had Andy's room. Previous tenants until Randal started scaring. Also, if we want to include the multiverse theory, Boo and Andy could be two different types of Earths. Like Boo could have a Jessie doll because Boo was Jessie's owner before Al got his hands on her somehow (he already showed he had no problem with resorting to theft), or could be another Jessie doll entirely, and so on. But going back to Randall, we see Andy's door in the development stages it looks like, and never know when it got done so he could have a chance still to be scaring Andy while he was still in college. Say, the owner of the company, Mr. Waternoose, had an internship program and Randal got in as a scarer intern. He would have been able to gain some practice sessions in and that internship could've been what lead to him getting hired by the company. Randal also holds a grudge against Mike and Sully, so I wouldn't put it past Randal to take up that internship to also mess with them in the workplace while they are at their lowest point and seeing them continue to rise and rise anyway up to pro scarers would infuriate him further over the years. It would also explain why Waternoose was so chummy with Randel and went with his plan to capture children. You'd have to REALLY trust someone after knowing them for a long time so that could also be how their relationship started as well. I feel that Randal COULD still be Andy's monster and I would like to add some points to further point out that Andy did have A monster at some point. Andy slept with his favorite toys, first Woody and then Buzz. Children do that to find comfort so Andy was obviously seeking comfort from something and it only seemed to be when it was night time. So much so, that when he had neither, he held on to the only thing he had left of either of them: his cowboy hat. Also, Woody's 'spot' was always on top of Andy's bed, facing the closet as if he was meant to keep watch. I think Andy would've stopped being scared though because as he did sleep with a guardian, they may have protected him from Randal when it started to become too much of a problem on Andy. Woody has been shown that he is willing to break the 'rules' when it meant protecting and saving someone he cares about so I wouldn't put this past him to go to this extreme after showing how much he cared about Andy. That would strike a blow to Randal's already hurting pride and would be how he knew that the 'child toxin' was a myth. He would literally, have had to have some type of exposure so maybe while Andy was very young, he fought back with Woody and was just so young, he forgot Woody being alive but retained enough of a memory of Woody's heroics that, that is why they have such a strong bond. That could also be what led Randal to think of kidnapping children. Revenge after being defeated by one and the wallpaper was kept as a reminder and motivator. Sorry for such a long response xD I tend to type nonstop when my interest gets peaked. I get word vomit!
+Andrew Allison okay no! I mean they said Boo was that girl in Toy Story 3 and Andy was big in Toy Story 3 Toy Story 2 when the song came on "when she loved me" was the girl who owned Jessie she used to like Cowboys and then make up and she drove to a donation truck and donated all her Jessie stuff! Look at Andy in Toy Story 2 he was younger It doesn't add up Again it could be like Barbie meaning the same toy! My cousin has a Barbie, my friends sister has a Barbie you can buy a Barbie at the store they all look the same just with different outfits unless it's the same outfit doll, that's an example
preston parker Umm a few things. 1) Where does anyone say that Boo was the girl in TS 3? Because the fact that Boo has a Jessie doll when she is 2 years old, proves that she is not Bonnie in TS 3 because Bonnie is currently 4-5 years old when Andy gave her Jessie and the gang. 2) About Jessie, we don't know where Jessie ended up, how long she was there until Al kept her in storage. No one knows what happened to between that time. 3) You obviously failed to see the mains point of my comment, which was the fact that time in the Monster World moved faster than the Human world. As shown that Boo was in the Monster World for a couple of days, but when they took her back, it was still the same time that she left. 4) And I'm not saying Boo was Jessie's owner from TS 2. I'm saying, what if Boo was from a DIFFERENT Earth. Like a parallel/second Earth. Now do you get it? The stuff you're trying to say "doesn't add up" to the points I was making. Read a bit more carefully.
It definitely sounds plausible, but that's a pretty common door design, even if in the Pixarverse, we've only seen it a few times (I believe the dentist's office in Finding Nemo has one as well if I recall correctly).
Again, it makes sense but I don't know. I mean I always thought the rational for their assigned monsters was something that that kid feared in particular. The commercial for Monsters Inc. (as in the commercial Mike and Sully sit down to watch) says that they do match monsters to kids but they don't state the criteria. In MU we do see something of a profiling system going on with what different scares for different fears. My point is, and rather my question is why Randal to Andy? Clearly the continuity matches up but what is the logic? What about Randal or what he does would Andy in particular find frightening as opposed to Sully or anyone else on the scare floor?
Well, if I have to think about it... Randall is played by Steve Buscemi... Who reminds me of an older version of Sid. Sid clearly was a troubled child who was likely a bully, and lived next door for a time to Andy. So maybe Randall was picked because he reminded Andy of Sid too? Haha...
+Anthony Clay (Steel Accord) Actually, Andy's Door is seen at Georges Station so Randy wasn't his monster in the first place which also leads the Belief that Boo (Mary) was never in Toy Story 3.
+Anthony Clay (Steel Accord) The profiles were made based on each kid's different fear, this is why Boo did not fear Sully and Mike at all, she is afraid of a big lizard with a mean face, but a big fluffly blue monster looks like a kitty to her.
+Gemma Thompson wouldn't it make sense for a child to eventually get used to the same monster? So maybe when this happens they swap. It would make for a more efficient system I think.
Mic Acar yes true but when they showed the door was during the door making process. which means either Andy had a monster before Randall or they make the doors a year or so before the child is ready to be scared for prepping
But in the monsters inc movie claws runs out saying she almost touched me so claws would not be sid's monster but claws could be sid's sister's monster
It is. ? The door he is showing here IS Andy's closet door. In the movie Andy runs inside/behind the door and comes out in the spaceman "costume" insinuating that the door he went behind is the closet where his toys and things are kept.
jumpypride the monsters come out of the closets, not the bedroom doors so it doesn't matter anyways. the picture shown is of the closet door and that's where the monsters come from.
My idea for why Andy doesn't have Randall come out his door anymore is because when Andy got older like in toy story 3 is because Randall was assigned to boo when Andy got older
This man has WAY to much power. He made me think that Draco is a ware-wolf and that Darth Jar Jar could have once been planed to happen... DUDE BECOME A LAWYER!!
I bet that the first time Randall walked into Andy’s room, all the toys scared the hell out of him.

I'm pretty sure they just have a specific quota with a specific ammount of doors: Lets say 10 doors within a certain ammount of hours. Some kids have similar fears which can apply to a single monster.

I’m pretty sure that was an all girls camp bro but it would have made good evidence
@@Theboi631 IF THIS THEORY WAS TRUE THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN CRAZY
From Seamus Gordon also there were boys in the camp so yes.
If Andy's door is spotted in MU and that was years before Randall started working at Monsters Inc. Andy's door could have been destroyed before Randall started working there because like the video said his door wasn't spotted in the door warehouse.
Being a mother makes you look too much into kids films because you watch them a million times.
True except the fact that it was when it was being developed so maybe it wasn’t used till Andy was old enough to comprehend a monster
Another part of being a mother it's taking the fun out of things too
In theory, if Randall was like any normal university student he would finish college in 4 years.
It might be in the archives
The monsters do not have to come by every night as shown on the folder of the first child Mike was going to scare. Just once-thrice a month.

Also there’s the fact that the monster isn’t just gonna stop scaring when their kid outgrows them, as boo’s young and he had to go back to monsters university to find Andy’s door.

As his helper said: "You didn't scare _her_, _she_ was only 6!"
Unless they thought sid was an ugly little girl...
but sid IS an ugly little girl
+Imogen Lamplugh Sid has a SISTER, though. And in the first Toy Story, it's shown that Sid has tried to scare his sister so often she's just kind of over it by now. She's hard to scare.
Maybe it's not SID, but his sister. That would also explain the poster being in a different position - maybe it changed hands.
LordofFullmetal Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.... Sid is still an ugly little girl.
mabye sids sister?

But then it makes you think....
If Randell was Andy's monster, and the toys come to life when the humans are not around/asleep/being scared themselves (e.g. Sid Phillips) would there be times when Randall was...unsuccessful, at scaring Andy?
We've seen that Woody has already demonstrated that he has competent leadership skills, and an undying loyalty to his friends
And with Buzz to back him up, there's nothing they can't do
Would it be possible that, Andy may have woken up in the middle of the night and saw his toys beating the snot out of Randall, and Woody who didn't expect his favorite deputy to wake up in the scuffle, convinced him that he had nothing to be afraid of anymore, but Andy thought he was having a dream, a very realistic dream, but still a dream
Probably why Randall is so bitter now, because he got his butt kicked by an army of toys and hasn't lived it down
Someone over at Pixar NEEDS to make this into a movie or at least a short
He camouflages so the toys wouldn’t necessarily see him
Caiden Conway Buzz has a laser pointer so if the laser hits Randall the toys could see him standing out
The Amazing Adventures Of Sawyer &Tiny true but how would they know where he is

It could be fair that Randall is Andy's monster.
When you were talking about the Scare Floor on 4:11, when they showed Andy's wallpaper, I was actually thinking they used that for Randall to warm up.
Wait. What if when a kid grows up and if they still remember their monsters, by a certain age they dont remember the monsters, but animals? So Andy would see a lizered and Boo would probably remember a kitty,
Or a bear from the other theory of boo being the witch in brave
but it's traumatizing
lelee duffy I don't get that one. The story of Brave is way before the story of Monsters Inc. Right?

The Shabby Shack shut up
If you think about it, nearly all of the theories are based around those easter eggs, so every theory is not actually the truth about the movies...
+Angela Perkins Sid has a younger sis who he would scare often himself.
Sir Blank Face I thought I mentioned Hannah as a possibility in the comment. Besides, wouldn't that make the monster Hannah's monster, not Sid's?
In Toy Story 1, Sid likes scaring his sister, maybe a possibility that Sid acknowledged the monster and tried to scare her sister by locking her in his room or something like that with the monster, (Claws).
Or maybe the monsters just don't know the difference between boys and girls. The movies made it pretty clear that monsters don't know allot about humans.
+Kelly Green yeah I don't think they know the difference

Crap wrong channel....

did u see how old andy was he was like 9 too me tru that it couldn't be randall and that could be his door and u might be tru that he could've scared another child but what about a child was living in Andy's house before he was even born and what if that child had that wall paper before andy and probably when andy moved in he just liked it and left it like that
🤓
My one problem with this is that A: if we see Andy's door in Monster's University, then that means it would be likely be a monster from in that time period, and not Randal, who come several years later.
the door might have been used on a kid that lived in the house before andy but was kept around because andy moved in
The kid that lived in Andy's house before him was Andy's dad. Andy's family lives in his late father's childhood home. Just watch the video 'What happened to Andy's Dad?'. So Randal could have wound up being Andy Jr's monster.
Shadow Star58 I noticed this myself too
Shadow Star58 but the Andy's door from Monster's University is still in the lab. It may actually have been a year or two before the door was introduced to Monster's Inc.... OR, maybe Randall used Andy's door in college during a project. That's why he has the wallpaper background to test his camouflage against.
Shadow Star58 RANDAL WAS IN MU
Good theory, Reminds me of a horror movie IT (don't watch it!) where a shapeshifting clown goes around tormenting kids, when the kids grow up they just slowly forget about the clown, much like Andy slowly forgot about Randall.
You watched IT , my daddy told me about it.
I'm shivering just from you saying the name
Lol
yeah
Jack DiCarlo IT sucks
whos gonna tell him that andys door can be seen behind fungus in the scene where randall momentarily broke the scare record
Wait really?
@Dargonhuman A FILM THEORY
They have designated kids.. Boo happened to be an enigma, thus focusing on her
Ahh this is true but watch the movie again and you will see it Randell practices in front of many different wallpaper backgrounds.... One of them being Andy's.
It is entirely plausible.
They scare multiple children a day, the doors switch out every scare... Have you watched the movie?

The claw monster was assigned to scare a 6 year old girl, not sid. He has a sister though. So it is likely that his sister took the poster. But She doesn't look like she would do that.
Or maybe just because this isn't Sid's toom at all. Posters aren't just sold and shipped exclusively to a single person. Heck, it's not even in the same POSITION. It was probably just some other "hardcore" girl.
+This Is A Username or his sister
It could be that Sid didn't want his poster anymore so his sister took it because she thought it looked cool or something, or maybe Sid did a little remodelling in his room, thus moving the poster, and while he was out of the house, his sister snuck in to get her doll back and encountered a monster on her way

thebrick11 Could've been Sid's little sister?
Frank C But why would sid's poster be in her room?

Pixar has made it abundantly clear at this point that they're trying to build a shared cinematic universe and what's more, it's WHOLLY ORIGINAL which is more than can be said for any of the others.

but the monsters have multiple children, so that doesn't mean that he always has to scare Sid
Either it’s Sid’s sister, or PLOT TWIST, SID IS TRANS
We know that Boo was alive in the 1950s. At this point, Monsters discovered laughter. We also know that Andy's father had owned Woody in the 1950s. So, by the time little Andy was alive Monsters were harvesting laughter. Young Andy did not have Randall as a monster.
However, Randall may have been the Monster for Andy's Dad, since Andy was living in the house his Dad grew up in.
OH MY GOSH. I so totally agree with this one. I actually love it, it makes so much sense. The wallpaper kinda sold me on it.
Ok but here is another piece to this. The most traumatic thing that has happened to Andy thus far in his life is his father DISAPPEARING from his home.
Sid has a sister.
So maybe, she was in his room and she tried to touch Sid's monster and that's why he yelled "She was this close to touching me!"
Or you know he didn't know the difference between a female and a male child.

Maybe they just go onto Jon negroni's site (creator of the pixar theory) he also makes multiple theories on pixar
Rednightwingz i dont think this one was on jon negronis site
Andy doesn't have a monster because he's a government expiriment.
If you saw the door in a monsters university clue, then Randall wouldn't be working at monsters inc yet. If andys door was destroyed before monsters inc, then Randall wouldn't be his monster
It could be that there's another kid in Andy's room, or it's a different room with the same wallpaper.
InsaneGamers you are fuckin amazing.
1:13 but, the monster says: "She got this close to me! She almost touched me!"

PhilBro Makes stuff Probably trying to find her doll that Sid stole for his sick experiments.
why do you all think the monsters can only have one child to scare there are so many kids in the world every monster would HAVE to have multiple kids
+Anastas1786 adults screams are more powerful referencing MU.
coconut eater
But MU takes place in the past, and in Monsters Inc., the vast majority if not the entirety of the company is centered around collecting children's screams. More powerful or not, adult screams just aren't a truly viable option for powering an entire world.
True, Especially when kids laughs are just as powerful.

*PLot TWisT* RANDALL IS ANDY'S MOTHER.
BOOOOSHHHHHH
Lol
It’s obvious, Andy got to old for him and during the movie Randall blends in with his wall during training.
Holy shet
Father! Nobody knows who his dad is....
*PLOT TWIST*
RANDAL IS ANDY’S DAD
Except...when the Claws monster comes screaming out of the door he says "The kid almost touched me, *she* got this close to me" to which his partner replies "She wasn't scared of you? She was only six!" so that would spoil the theory that he was Sid's monsters. Maybe Molly's, but she definitely seemed older than six.
in the vid he mentioned that the poster was also in a different position so personally i think this signals overlapping universesrather then sid having a monster because another child could have had that poster too
K.S.G Ohh I see, fair point.
Oh yeah!! bam!!
sid is transgender duh
exactly my thought. thou I thought first for a moment that it might only be in the translation to my language where they said "she" xD checked comments to look for one exactly like this one. thanx mate
Has anybody realized that every five or ten seconds he switches sides?
Darn you, now I can unsee it and it's driving me NUTS!! How could you have done this?!
@@dovianempire1868 HAHA sorry 😂
Duh
maybe that's why Sid breaks and rebuilds his toys to try and scare off the monsters
Good point
What if, Boo's real name is Emily, and she was Jessie's first owner, and then when she grew up, her hair became blonde, and she gave Jessie to Andy.
OH. MY. GOD.
+Lydia Reece I like/support this idea better than the idea that Randall is Andy's monster
+Steven Donaldson thanks!
+Lydia Reece wut? Wait........ OMG OMG OMG! Yes! And her hair must have either changed or she dyed it so it adds up! Thank you Lydia Reece!
+Mary Whitman no problem Mary Whitman!
Andy wouldnt be scared because I mean i would be more scared then alive toys then fluffy monsters LIKE KITTY
Then Sully says: " Oh, Randal's your monster!" so that makes Randal boo's monster!
werethegamers32 32 but boo is younger than Andy so maybe Andy had Randal before boo did so Randal would be Andy's monster before boo's monster because Andy would of out grown it before boo came does that change ur mind
werethegamers32 32 yea but every monster gets multiple kids a night to scare, they dont just get one kid
Lps Rainbow Anchor/Galaxy yes
They are a both a little creepy......
Round of applause. You are a genius! *no sarcasm intended*
Rednightwingz But, Boo already had a drawing of Randall
Sergio Rodriguez Well thats is because Randall was already Boo's scarer and it turned out that Boo was scared of both Randall and Sulley. But that theory could be legit and just maybe Randall was destined to be Andys monster, or he was already before coming across Boo.
Sergio Rodriguez no, it's Randy
Rednightwingz It's not like the monsters only go to one door a night. Chances are, they go through hundreds of doors every night. He could easily do both.
He was probably scaring Sid's sister actually since his assistant says "she was only six"
but when claws runs out of 'sid's' room the other master says "SHE was only six"
Sid has a younger sister maybe it was her ?
+Alicia Ramirez
but why would the monster go through Sid's door? wouldn't the monster go to the sister's door?..😸
What if it was Sids sister?
...
+crazy cat maybe the sister was in the room at the time...

Thats a good solid theory and I believe that

so many people in this comment section do not use their brain. "randy is boos monster." did y'all not see the door wearhouse? you seriously think one monster per door so one monster poor kid? if you watch the movie you clearly see them going through multiple doors, scaring multiple kids. Smh. people don't think.
:33< Thank you, you are the voice of reason!!!
MasterTryh4rd what does smh mean
All that summarized means when Andy was Boo's age, Randal was in college.
***** So your saying that when he joined fear tech, he snuck off just to practice and he was always unnoticed and that he always just happen to practice on Andy
Jacob Pena Of course he wouldn't be noticed, he can blend into his surroundings. Unless he moved no one would be able to tell.
*don't u mean, Randall WAS Andy's monster, because Randall died (or gone missing) in the end of Monsters inc.*
He did not die as we know of he just got stuck in the human world
Got mistaken for a gator and whacked about with a frying pan, lolz
@@AmyraCarter i think he got whacked with a shovel
He didn’t die, he comes back in the timeline of Kingdom Hearts 3 🤷♂️😂😂
THE TOYS KILLED HIM
I paused the video at 1:20 because there is something that needs to be pointed out and i can't wait till the end of the video. When the monster in Monsters Inc. runs out of the kids room because the kid wasn't scared of him, he said "The kid almost touched me, she got this close to me!" If the child he was supposed to scare is a girl then there is NO WAY ON EARTH that it was Sid. Still great video though! :)
Unless it was his sister! DUN Dun dun!
maybe it was hannah because she was in sids room and sid was somewhere else
+Ally Li riiiiiiiight😱
Sid has a little sister. But I'm sure you were aware of that.
the movie made it clear thet monsters doesn't know a lot about humans
Boo isn't the girl who owned Jessie because in Toy Story 2 she sang a song about how her owner grew up and no longer loved her and Andy was still a kid at the time.
There are multiple Jessies. There are multiple Buzzes and multiple Woodies. Haven't you watched Toy Story?
+hungryninja123 yes there are multiple buzz's but since woody and Jessie are older toys they are more rare. That's why in toy story 2 Al is collecting them and they are going to a museum. So after some particular year, the amount of kids that would have it (especially in good condition) would be extremely low.
Could be a possibility it belonged to her mother, or another relative, and passed it down to Boo.
+Ally Taber WHAT IF...
Boos mom is Jessies owner?
Passed down toys?
Merve Ipek But Jessie's owner lost Jessie, who ended up with Andy... Who gave it to Bonnie... What if Bonnie was Boo's mother who passed it down to her?
But, Randall wouldn’t come out of his closet, he’d come out of the door, right?
15th like
If Randell comes out of Andy's closet why were you trying to find Andy's main door
Both doors look the same
true
+money king Because both doors look identical to each other
+Chandler Burns it is true

I really think the newt crossing was a Easter egg for the movie that got canceled but I believe randy is the monster
Aaron only liked your comment cause your picture made me laugh hard 😂
Aaron
(That’s my name)
It’s Randal
Randals kid is boo so...............
Doesn't mean he can't be Andy's monster as well! Seriously, did you think the monsters only scare one kid? That wouldn't make for a very long shift!
Aaron same
wouldn't it be fun if Pixar made a spin off movie about Monsters coming to scare a kid and their over protective toys make a stand against them? You'd need a Pixar twist where the monsters and toys find common ground but I would enjoy seeing it.
Ah, how good it feels to come back to this video again.
Shelby Miller You're right because at the end of Toy Story 3, you can hear Andy's little sister ask to take Andy's room
E-bae She seems a little old to be scarable or at least on the brink of being out of that age group.
The clawed monster says "She" when talking about how close the kid got to touching him, So can't be Sid.
Just saying.
Sid had a pretty bold sister
+pj zanotto no she wasnt...also he said she was only six...I don't think she was six
I'm not curtain, though, so don't take my word on it.
well said has a yonger sisster

SuperCarlinBrothers Wow! You actually replied. Tbh I fangirled a little when I saw you replied to me. Keep doing what you're doing, you guys are AMAZING:)
+SuperCarlinBrothers I thought he scares the little girl
+Bruce Anderson that's what I said
I know this is late but it couldn't be Randell..
I get word vomit!
that doesn't mean they used the door as soon as it was made maybe it was made then used later
They may have used it for the previous kid that lived there
+Andrew Allison okay no! I mean they said Boo was that girl in Toy Story 3 and Andy was big in Toy Story 3
Toy Story 2 when the song came on "when she loved me" was the girl who owned Jessie she used to like Cowboys and then make up and she drove to a donation truck and donated all her Jessie stuff! Look at Andy in Toy Story 2 he was younger
It doesn't add up
Again it could be like Barbie meaning the same toy! My cousin has a Barbie, my friends sister has a Barbie you can buy a Barbie at the store they all look the same just with different outfits unless it's the same outfit doll, that's an example
preston parker
Umm a few things.
THEN WHO IS ANDY'S DAD'S MONSTER
...
T_T
His wife
Jand H lol 😂
Death
Yesh, I have created my toy army, I can now destroy ALL te monsters!!!!! MWAHAHAHAH!
La Mugre when the child stops being scared they destroy the door. they stated that in the film.
you realize that multiple houses have identical doors, right?
that i found wierd almost every closet door i see IRL is just a plain white door but in monsters inc each one is unique
But how Randall was in college not on the scare floor
The door was made then not used
Mic Acar yes true but when they showed the door was during the door making process. which means either Andy had a monster before Randall or they make the doors a year or so before the child is ready to be scared for prepping
But in the monsters inc movie claws runs out saying she almost touched me so claws would not be sid's monster but claws could be sid's sister's monster
Full House my passion or sids sister was trying to retrieve a stolen toy and then the monster comes into the room
But hey it's just a theory
+IloveShaneDawson #shane A film theory

wouldn't andy's bedroom door be different from his closet door?
why would it?
Albert M. N
most bedrooms do have the same doors.
It is.
Boo has Jessie as well as the ball with the star on it and a clown fish toy which could be a reference to finding nemo
No he is not Sid's monster. Cause Klaud yells, She almost touched me, she got this close to me.
Sid is not a she
Sid's sister?
Sid's sister is a soft-hearted girl... I doubt that would have been her.
Yes but don't forget, it's their job to scare kids.
Hamato Lexus I was talking about her being a soft-hearted kid, as in she wouldn't want to touch the monster.
AmyLoves BB maybe she would want to make friends with him, thus giving her a reason to touch him. E.g, Shake hands
