On all these hitches do you have to use four wraps or could you get away with using three wraps four wraps tends to be really tight for me could I use three and still be safe thank you
Hi there. Great question. The number of wraps depends on many things, including: the diameter of the hitch cord and rope, jacket material of both, length of the hitch cord, weather (temp, humidity), and the climber's weight. I can't say how many wraps are right for you, so the best thing is to go low and slow and experiment. Hope that helps.
@@CanopyWatchInternational yeah what happened was I bought a safety lanyard from tree stuff and I believe it had a VT it had five wraps up top and one on the bottom it would get stuck every time I would set back into it and I could not move it so I took two wraps off of the top do you think that's okay it seems to be holding fine I just want to make sure it's okay to take wraps off if they're sticking too tight thank you so much
@@davidanderson8805 thank you so much I did the VT with three wraps I used it for about 2 hours and a tree it seems to be fine so it should be fine correct if it's working it shouldn't let go at any given time is that true I just want to make sure I always used adjustable lanyards this is the first time I'm using hitchcord for my lanyard I really like it I just want to make sure I'm safe

Useless, same color rope.
Victor, thanks for the comment. Do you have a video you like better you'd like to share so we can see what you mean?
Using 2 color ropes helps see it better, especially on cell phone size screen. Watched again, not so bad as I said.
