Between the 20th and 25th of February 2018, the fabulous married couple, Olesya Novikova of the Mariinsky Ballet and Leonid Sarafanov of the Mikhailovsky Ballet performed Don Quixote in Palermo, Italy. Here are excerpts from one of those performances.

Олеся очень сильная физически, а про внутреннюю силу особенно сказать хочется, Внутренняя Сила у Доброго Человека от Бога, и Леонид и Олеся одна плоть, просто Вселенская доброта , Святые люди! Как России это потребно! Спасибо Вам дорогие!
Sarafanov is the only dancer who makes 32 pirouettes at the end of the coda. All the rest are doing just 16 🤷♂️
Thank you for your comment. Sarafanov is a dancer with virtuoso technique. He can do things many other dancer aren't able to do such as the 32 pirouettes you mention.
In my opinion Novikova is the most stunning among Russian ballerinas!

Always a pleasure to watch this real-life couple on stage together, two of the best dancers in the world. Lucky Massimo Theatre to get them.
I was there!!! I went from Salzburg to Palermo, just to see this performance. It was fantastic! And Teatro Massimo is one of the most beautiful theaters I've ever seen. But also look at Vladislav Lantratov and Maria Alexandrova as Basilio and Kitri. Outstanding!
Olesya is the drunkenness of a Spanish dance, she is enraptured with her red fan!, who taught her the secret language of this fan? BRILLIANT performance. Brava

I adore Olesya. After they got kids, her dancing has become more nuanced and interesting! I saw her in the Mariinsky in DQ in December 2017. Love seeing them dancing together!
Take a look at her Swan Lake. One of the most artistic performers in that role.

Excellent dancing, Leonid Sarafanov amazed me with his partreship, musicality, lightness and lines. He is my definition of danceur noble.

Прекрасные танцоры! Какой баланс у Олеси! Леонид обладает удивительным сочетанием балетной утончённости и мужествености. Но, как мне кажется, для этих ролей им не хватает испанистости что-ли, нет огня, задора.
Technically brilliant and elegant on both their part but not characterization on either parts to me.
I've seen performances with more verb and fire which suit this program.
Sarafanov is stylish and musical i don’t see the problem
She is very good. Tall, thin, beautiful,the one who understands the ballet and dancing.

Аня Аня Ещё бы... По моему мнению Новикова сейчас вторая Русская классическая балерина в мире ( первое место оставим за единственной народной артисткой России из балерин не пенсионного возраста - Викторией Терешкиной), Ну а Леонид - просто так молодого человека из Киева сразу премьером в Мариинку не позовут...
@@akheroliants,но после Мариинского театра Леонид Сарафанов все таки ушёл в Михайловский театр...
