Playing this game on veteran is where it truly shines. It allows you to be very wary of how much ammo you have so you have to tactically use your ammo. Almost every level has a need for methodical gameplay. Having to strategically push and peek because you can easily get one shot. Having to single fire a lot like an actual military operator for accuracy and ammo conservation was a very fun change. Try it out if you can handle it.
Recon by fire was the buggiest mission for me. The worst bug was the second time you had to go prone and let the guys pass you, they wouldn’t go back to their truck they just stood there. And then when I tried engaging them in combat they kept turning invisible so I couldn’t shoot them.
For it wasn't a bug issue per say. The Team AI felt useless. The tank mission the guy we was supposed to fight the tank mission with was standing there doing nothing. The stealth mission were impossible to complete without using a gun
Glad to hear it. I didn’t even know about the campaign being already available. Am I the only person who buys these games for the campaigns alone? I never do the multiplayer stuff.
Why can't I just go back and play the original Modern Warfare trilogy for much less money? What is really being offered here besides mind-blowing visuals?
I think the game felt exciting for a lot including myself because they revisited older things in the franchise. There's multiple moments where you can feel them honoring the OG MW2 and revisiting it and making it better. That along with how they wrap up the game with the post credits cut scene. It has me more excited for the next installment.
I just finished the campaign, and it was amazing. It's definitely in my top 5 of favorite COD campaigns. There were a few glitches though, like one where I wasn't able to crouch or go prone when hitting O. The dialogue is my favorite, especially between Soap and Ghost.
@@frankcadillac1456 sadly no. That would be amazing. It was made to be a single player experience, you'll know after you play it. There are co op missions you can do from the main menu though.
Im pretty confident that most major characters from the campaign will be included in multiplayer (Alejandro, Valeria, Graves). I wouldn't be surprised if they included Laswell also
The bad guys are also always operators right? So I'm 99% certain that Valeria is an operator and Vargas is absolutely certain lol. The only thing I don't understand is why the skin set (red team 141) includes a Farah skin, worst character in COD history and does not seem to be a part of 141,.. Only shortly in this game for 2 mini scenes. But Vargas and Rodolfo are both main protagonist and not part of the skin set? Wtf?
What's really interesting is that everyone that has covered this campaign has totally different opinions on what missions are great and what aren't. Jackfrags hated violence and timing and seemed to like the alone mission. Hollow on the other hand loved both. Tbh I only had a few moments I really didn't like, but overall, fantastically fun campaign with a lot of variety of experiences and it left me wanting more. (Those moments were because of bugs, where something wouldn't trigger properly)
My favorite mission so far is when you control that airplane that controls and has an arsenal of turrets and missles! Good thing you can only have 1 big bomb and then a cooldown because I was getting quite happy and awed when you destroy the buildings. Overall the campaign is a W
When someone hate game's because of violence they are just dumb lol we always see people die in news channel and there are movies too lol. They live in there own fairy world fantasy 🤣
The only let down was the final mission. It felt like it could’ve been way better especially with how awesome the missions that took place right before
Been looking forward to this despite owning the game. Campaign was honestly amazing, coming from someone who has disliked the more recent CODs. 10/10 No doubt.
Man I have to say it’s really good to see the old modern warfare group again(Soap, Price, and Ghost). However I do miss shepherds original look. I still prefer the original modern warfare but I might give this new campaign a try. Thanks for the review guys! 😎👍🏼
The campaign is not that good theres an ac-130 mission thats pretty sick but other then that its overrated. The first modern warfares campaign was alot better
@@cvit16 you are actually out of your mind. You're probably a mindless ttv sweat, so of course you didn't enjoy it No thoughts in your head. I bet you couldn't even beat the game on hardened
The campaign is freaking awesome! my favorite is the Recon By Fire, El Sin Nombre and the GOAT, "Alone" missions. Lots of homage, easter eggs, and side activities to keep the player on the edge and entertained. I also like that they humanized the main characters, particularly Ghost, through conversations where you get to choose the responses to. 9/10 for me.
@@Keanan_Freeman i’m pressure because when you install the content from the disc you’ll also need to download the campaign multiplayer and coop separately. pretty much the disc has nothing on it.
@@Keanan_Freeman No. For consoles, because there is a low risk of piracy, no internet is required to play the campaign. It is only required on PC (Battlenet and Steam)
I actually found the story of the campaign being very interesting, clear and good written. You could always tell why you’re doing what you doing, which isn’t often the case for similar games.
What story? Lol What was there had me eye rolling a few times. I beat it on veteran a few days ago and have already forgot about it. It was fun but dumb as hell imo Hopefully the multiplayer is good.
@@leroyjenkins1911 I mean, even if it's inspired, they don't really do anything with it. They don't give us much motivation to find Hassan or Ghorbrani as compelling antagonists like Barkov or the Butcher. If anything, Hassan's outrage is justified.
COD Singleplayer stealth missions have always been some of the absolute BEST! My favorites are 'all ghillied up' from COD 4, the mission where youre that spy girl in COD WW2 and 'Brick In The Wall' from COld War. The slow paced missions just hit so different. You get to take your time and appreciate every ounce of the envinment that the devs create
I found it to be the most refreshing and fun campaign since black ops 2. I also find it strange so many people are saying it’s so hard. I hardly play games anymore and definitely not as good as my youth, but I was able to complete the game on hardened in two nights.
I hated that 1! On veteran it was a pig you die if your in line of sight within nano seconds, and the bad guys end up hard right to walls stood on bins and stuff
@@coxyjmz yeah on anything harder than normal it's a bitch i think. Especially when you go for the no gun achievement (Played through the game on hardened myself)
I'll be honest, I actually think the game difficulty matters less in stealth sections since there's no gunfighting. I had close to zero problems on veteran, unlike James.
Surprised how divisive Alone is. Honestly love the mission. It's rare for a cod stealth mission to actually have tension. This one did, at least on realism
Man I love that mission! it was the first mission I replayed after beating the game. Getting the Trophy for not firing a gun was a fun additional challenge
Just played this level, easily my favorite so far! Could have an entire game like this. Yeah the conversations between Ghost and Soap were so funny, I was cracking up the whole time 😂
I think the campaign was great. Surprised you didn’t mention the dialogue options. Wish there were more sequences of it. I also wished there were more missions. Although, I wish every good campaign was longer. But the good ones that tend to be longer can get stale. I did have problems where enemies kept clipping through objects and cover. But no crashes or visual glitches. Speaking of visuals. Are the cutscenes actual people, or is the engine just THAT DAMN GOOD?
This game is absolutely amazing! It takes the intensity of the first title and ramps it up to an 11. CODMW2 2022's graphics on a current generation machine (Series X/PS5) are incredible. The sound of gunfire is very realistic and makes me think the development team had a blast (pun intended) at an outdoor gun range. The story, while a bit far fetched is also not bad. The gameplay is as tight as they can possibly get it and I only experienced minor bugs through my one playthrough. I like it so much I am doing it again for Achievements (Series X) and to try different approaches. Yes, the combat options are very open with this one. Addendum- I have but two issues with the game and one is it a minor nitpick. My first and real concern is the length of the game. I feel it could have been a tad longer...maybe an hour or two...or 30. The second is some of the gun designs are not quite right. I prefer my weapons in games like these to be accurate in looks, sound, and feel. COD shouldn't have cursed guns in it.
Ahh, the review I've been waiting for. Personally I quite enjoyed this campaign, thought it's one of the best ones they've done. Great job guys. (again)
I love this campaign, maybe I'm in the minority but I also loved that stealth section because you're in a location you can't get back up until you re-group with Ghost
Huge fan of this retelling so far. Love all of the characters and Alejandro was a very cool surprise! I think the convoy was a big miss and stealth was mediocre but overall a solid story. I hope they can stick the landing, but they've done well up to this point.
My thoughts exactly. I was like wtf? Dude just described entire missions. Also, does he not know MW3 exists? A sequel to this remake is pretty obvious.
Another great entry to the CoD Franchise. I very much enjoyed this campaign. I do agree that it is slightly lacking on the storyline side, at least from a “what’s the point” kind of view. Additionally, there were some missions that just kind of randomly ramped up the difficulty like 3 fold. Sometimes it caused me to get a little flustered. But, it was fun, exciting, and full of variety. Worth a play through.
Remember when the guys that created Vanguard said the franchise doesn't have characters that you are invested in? Well, after playing through the campaign I saw how awesome Ghost, Price, Soap, Alejandro (great character) are.
Great review, unfortunate with the bugs, only thing I ran into was the game crashing twice with my playthrough. Thank you for an honest review that captures the ups and downs
@@daniellucateroofficial4041 same I didn’t have any bugs, crashes or texture issues at all during my playthroughs and I beat it on every difficultly. I’m on PC btw
i liked how this campaign wasn't just non stop stage after stage of clearing out enemies, like a lot of older COD's and other games tend to be like. it felt like every mission in this campaign was different from the mission before it, and introduced different gameplay elements each time. made it very engaging and not so repetitive. the story was cool too. overall this was very entertaining, maybe the best campaign i've played so far honestly
Love your videos man. Thought I'd say that under your new video in hope ya see the comment. Side note, I finished the campaign this morning, and I definitely think it is a very creative and new take on their campaigns. Especially when you play as Soap and have to reach Ghost @the church. Very interesting and fun mission. Not to mention the hilarious dialog between the two. I also enjoy that they're giving these great characters we already love, personality. That makes it much better than just capturing the bad guy. I enjoy that, but I enjoy this take more.
@@believeinmatter Lol, I do love a good campaign and multi-player, but I can agree. They did that for warzone, but you still had to install the entire game. Kinda ridiculous and waste of space when you're only gonna play one mode. It'd be kinda cool to buy campaign for $20, Multi-player for $20, and the third mode for another $20. $60 in total. I'd take that deal with Vanguard. Their zombies was by far the worst in my opinion, and if I could get at least $20 back, I'd take it.
@@SuperMurray2009 This campaign as well as some in the past, left me with wanting more. Now I gotta wait what, 4yrs for a new one? Or 6years? Because I'm pretty sure starting with this COD, they're making CODs every 2 years instead of every year.
I loved the stealth mission where you are wounded and have to craft your weapons. It somehow reminded me of The Last of Us and I absolutely love that game
It held my interest longer than 2019's MW. It's funny since anyone who played the original trilogy will pretty much know exactly how things are going to pan out, but it shakes things up enough to be a fun time. It definitely feels more immersive, but that might be the fact that I switched back to PC after like a decade on console. It feels much better. Edit: I didn't experience a single glitch you mentioned. The game did crash for me during "Alone," but that was literally the only hiccup I had. I also didn't understand the "stakes don't feel high" comment. Like at all.
I haven’t played the new game yet but 2019’s MW is a FANTASTIC game tho as a whole in of itself! It’s the game that got me back into Call of Duty, easily from just how spectacular!
It's a badass campaign 😎 I really appreciate the fact that this campaign trains you a bit for warzone. This will definitely help with practice for the new era
the campaign was really good to me. I played on PC and really the only issues I experienced were for some reason when I died to an explosion, it wouldnt reload the checkpoint and just sit on a black screen. Force quitting the game got me back to the checkpoint, but it was annoying to have to pay extra attention to things blowing up
Lol that makes throwing grenades back even crazier. Halfway through the game right now, hope I don’t have to reset because there’s no way I’m stopping now.
I think this Ghost is even better than 2009 Ghost. That Ghost didn’t have much of a character, he just looked cool. This one is a genuinely awesome character. Absolutely loved the campaign
Looks so visually impressive! They were talking about how much effort they put into the water physics and the way water looks. Definitely paid off. And that video of the Amsterdam comparison is insane!
@@christophluger793 Ah that's so cool man! It's nice to be excited about an old franchise again! I was always a BF player so only recently experienced the MW 1 and 2 campaigns and they were incredible. Would love for them to remaster MW3 so I can play that campaign

Have had a few different hard crashes as well while playing. Hope these get ironed out when the full game is released. If anyone has any similar experiences or knows any fixes let everyone know!
Out of curiosity, did you play on PS5? I played on Xbox Series X and had next to no issues with zero crashes and only the minor 'enemy through wall' bug here and there. Might be a PS thing with the technical issues since that's two reviewers on PS5 now that said it was technically bad.
Played on PC. Had 1 hard crash and 2 instances where Ghost was stuck and wouldn't move from a spot. Couldn't fix the bug unless I restarted the entire mission
Played on PC. Had a corrupted savegame in the mission Prision Break on the CCTV area, gamed crashed and corrupted the whole savegame had to play the mission from the start
The campaign is definitely fun and varied. Did encounter some annoying lighting glitches where the lens flare was so strong it blinded me. There’s no way to turn off the lens flare and I hope they patch that. The mission where you rescue Laswell, the ending cutscene rendered Laswell in very low polygons. No lie it looked like PS1 Lara Croft
Dang. I'd love to play this campaign, but $70 for 6hrs? Nah. I was tired of CoD multiplayer years ago. @gameranx REALLY appreciate what you guys do with these videos.
I never finished the original campaign for the older modern warfare 2 so I’m excited to get this one and hopefully be able to play it on the steam deck!
Campaign definitely felt like the og mw2 but I hope the multi-player is not super broken on launch like most cod games. But the Campaign was definitely worth a play.
I played through Modern Warfare 2 Remastered multiple times and I honestly speaking see next to no resemblance between these games. There is little cohesion in this campaign, meaning missions aren't very connected and you end up looking for some missiles around the world. It felt like the stakes were very weak and at no point did it feel like these missiles or the antagonist actually had any real power.
@@I_THE_ME I did not mean it as in the missions are the same as 09 mw2 but some missions like wearing the ghille suit and the boat missions really brings back memories. But no they are two very different games. But at least the new one doesn't try to copy the old and makes something new for itself
Totally agree with your critique here. Reading over ppl's experience with the campaign, I felt it was missing something but maybe it comes from being someone who has played the overwhelming majority of COD entries
Very fun! Very action packed, I loved that they allowed us more freedom of movement and performing actions on our own without being forced into a cut scene. (Convoy mission, canals with Price ect). I didn’t enjoy the weapon selection for each mission, I felt like I was using the wrong weapon for the engagement distance and location. Ended up picking up a lot of enemy weapons. I enjoyed the stealth/crafting section and it seems promising if it will be similar to the Tarkov mode they have working. The AI could use a little more work tho.
Alone was my favorite mission, It became a real challenge for me and made you think on your feet a lot more. Made me go from veteran to recruit real quick haha.
First time in a while I've loved the campaign significantly more than multiplayer. I always play on the second hardest difficulty and this game was brutal! Some of the later missions took me forever to beat but I enjoyed the challenge. Definitely recommend the campaign on this one for any Fps fan
Honestly I only ever encountered one rendering bug but that was it, I don't think I ran into any other bugs. This campaign was absolutely insane, and surprising yet familiar for a long time campaign enthusiasts like myself. Absolutely worth the pre-order, coming from a guy who has never pre-ordered anything else
I actually really liked the alone mission, I thought that it was giving you just enough freedom on how to take the guys out. I get the point of saying that it slowed down the pace and think it could have been a hair shorter, but I really liked the new approach to the simple one tapping guys with silenced guns like every other COD
I loved this campaign and it's difficulty spike compared to other cod games. My only issue is that if I tried to up my settings form recommended it would freeze a few minutes later and crash even tho I'm running a 3070 and get 140 fps before it crashes
It was definitely a fun playthrough for me. I didn't have the same problem jumping from car to car that a lot of people seem to have had, I just pulled up close and had no issues but I was expecting the jump to be pretty limited tbf, my issue with that section was it was just way too long. Personally I enjoyed the Alone stealth mission, found some cool stuff like a crossbow and dropping the AI with it and leaving a mine on their body for the other AI to find and trip, was just fun to me. Understandably not for everyone though and not necessarily what everyone looks for from CoD campaigns
I already got 22 12 packs of mnt due I'm a be good for the next 5 months I already got it downloaded on my ps5 an I already called off for the next 2 months cause I get paid time off an Thanksgiving I'm ready

@@SuperMurray2009 I really liked the multiplayer 🤷♂️. Even though I’m a sweaty player I do like the changes they made to make you think and be smarter with how you go about playing.
If you're lucky to see this comment section before buying: It's 70$. You will spend 2 days of trying 30+ different possible solutions so you can launch the game, including reinstalling 2-3 times, verifying game files 75+ times, then you will play the game for hours after finally being able to launch it after 2 days, then you will get off thinking all of the issues have been solved just to come back later/the next day to find out the game is not saving any of your progress, and the 1 solution that has worked for everyone else, has already been done for you and now you have no solution to fix the game not saving your progress. Edit: My solutioj for the game save was actually to disable the Controlled Apps. As most others solution was the opposite.
That sniper and Alone mission that you weren't a fan of is ironically my two favourite and most memorable missions. I know it's been done before but I liked it. I wish they were longer. The alone mission could have been its own game.
This is probably a dumb question but if I buy the physical disc version for my series x will it somehow give me access to play the digital version on my series s?
I personally loved the campaign. I enjoy a good story telling, and sometimes you have to have a "slow burn" to develop the characters and plot. Which is fine. I just don't always like the persona portrayed that Americans just take and do what we want. However, I can see how history and actions feed into that reputation.
@@SuperMurray2009 IMO yes 👍🏼 IGN took a fat dump on it and some of what they said may have been fair but the game is great. I love the stealthy tactics and this game really doubled down here as Jake said in this video.
They need to release a completely standalone compilation series. Where there are 3 or 5 campaigns that total 25 hours of play time. And release it at like 40 dollars. I've never played COD multiplayer, but have always been interested in the story campaigns.
i finished the campaign yesterday and all i have to say is wow i don't play campaigns very often but this has set the bar for me. i do also think the slow aspect of the game did get tedious at points but once i learned how the game was to progress i started enjoying the more action bits. i found the car mission annoying and the crafting around las almas very tedious as guards would often glitch through walls causing them to see me so that's my analysis.
There's nothing quite like a COD campaign, I feel. The games really manage to make the most of their insane budgets. As a COD kiddie, I find it hard to enjoy other FPS campaigns, because I feel they don't feel quite as smooth. Personally I love that these MW games are kind of going back-to-basics. I feel like it's a needed contrast when everything is super insane these days. MW19 reminded me a bit of these SWAT games my friend and I would play on PS2. It's fun being tactical and really embracing an almost role-playing vibe. I also just like that they did something a little unexpected.
Definitely a good campaign, just wish we didn't have to wait 2 years for the story to progress. It left me feeling a little unfulfilled. I guess it's either rush a story for one campaign or spread it out over 6 years into a trilogy.
Loved every scene... zero complaints from me on this game, its a heck of a ride from start to finish and very intense, especially in the stealth wounded area...

I think the game felt exciting for a lot including myself because they revisited older things in the franchise. There's multiple moments where you can feel them honoring the OG MW2 and revisiting it and making it better. That along with how they wrap up the game with the post credits cut scene. Wtf?
i would be fucking shocked if she wasnt

I actually found the story of the campaign being very interesting, clear and good written. You could always tell why you’re doing what you doing, which isn’t often the case for similar games.
Character writing and delivery was especially good this time around, just like MW 2019. There was so much more characterization and personality.

The "Alone" mission (when Soap is alone trying to get to Ghost) was incredible. I loved how dynamic it was.

It was really cool and challenging! But, it was certainly frustrating a number of times.
One of the best missions in the game you connect with the most goated Character 😂
Man I love that mission! it was the first mission I replayed after beating the game. Getting the Trophy for not firing a gun was a fun additional challenge
Easily the best mission in the game. Dialogue between soap and ghost alone made it great
Just played this level, easily my favorite so far!

This the most fun I’ve ever had in a cod campaign since probably black ops 1 or 2
based
Let's take a moment to appreciate how much time and effort he puts into his content for us. Love the videos!

6 months later. This game is still complete garbage. You can be good. You can be bad. Either way. The game is trash.
Is the campaign garbage, too?
@@seendon5394no it’s the only good thing about this game
Yep just a sweaty camp fest with no redeeming qualities what a waste of 70 dollars
@@Bedbug451 because people like getting blinded and pixel burn the F out of their tv or monitors right. 🤦♂️
@@Bedbug451 I played it. I loved the campaign, though I HATED the Hide and Seek sections. It's the only thing I disliked.
Probably getting it this Christmas. Just finished the masterpiece GOW Ragnarök.
