Do yourself a favor - Listen with a decent set of headphones to get the best listen to the audio tracks in the video. Your phone or computer’s speakers are poor, they neuter bass frequencies and are a true compromise in this situation. UA-cam applies compression to all videos, and this does affect the audio quality, unfortunately.
Time Stamps:

::: Our general feelings about the Kloppmann PB 63 P Bass® Pickup :::
A blooming low end, and a voice that really speaks to the sound of yesteryear, the Kloppmann PB 63 has excellent vintage P Bass® tone. The PB 63 is open and clear with good attack in the top end, and old school lows. Comparing with another other pickup in the vintage realm: We hear a slightly softer mid range compared the Fralin P, but a little more in the top end in the Kloppmann offering.
As always, keep in mind that these are generalizations. Your experience could be different depending on many factors.

::: Gear :::
Bass: Fender Precision Bass, Made in Mexico
Strings: D’Addario NYXL
Tone is fully on
Audio Interface: Scarlett
Audio Recording Software: Logic Pro X
In Logic Pro X, we used an amp modeler, the ’60s Combo’, which is intended to emulate an Ampeg B-15. There is a slight bit of compression and a high pass filter at 40 Hz. For continuity and evaluation purposes, these settings are applied across all of our demo videos.

Surprisingly, one of my fav P pickups - great demo's. I JUST found this channel - it's amazing. Cheers from Toronto. (great tight playing as well)
Thanks for checking out our videos and your kind words on the playing!
Amazing demo and review! Love the consistency on each take and the clear description of the signal chain. Subscribed!
Thanks for checking out the video, and your kind words. We appreciate it!
your consistant setting is very useful to comparing different pickup sounds. keep going!
Thanks! We're glad you are finding the videos helpful.
Thanks for doing this video I was waiting for someone to do a video on this pickup. It’s the best on the market
James - Thanks for watching the video.. The PB 63 is pretty stellar!
I have purchased these. Absolutely gorgeous for the ear. All a P-BaSs player could ever hoped for acoustically. Prior to getting them, your review did help a lot for what to expect. Thank you.
Thanks for the feedback. That is great to hear! Drop us a line if we can assist with anything in the future.
Man these sound so good. I guess one of my kids doesn't necessarily need to go to college,
Indeed, they are great! Thanks for checking out the video.
This is the one!!
Thanks for checking out the video. The PB63 is indeed a stellar P pickup.
Great demos. Very informative. Would you be getting the kloppman pb57 in? I’m torn which to get.
Also what about lollar? The standard and high wound p bass pick ups.
Thanks for your kind words. We have the PB57 in stock currently -

Will keep Lollar in mind as we look to add new pickups.
@@FatBassTone that would be great. A demo video would be amazing if possible.
I played a 70’s fender p bass with emg Pick ups. They have a vastly different sound to traditional p bass pick ups.
Appreciate the work you are putting in
@@soulstart89 Thanks for the kind words. Indeed the traditional pickups are way different than EMGs
Best ones I have heard! Too bad they are also the most expensive you can get, like 300 euros..
Thanks for checking out the video - indeed they are expensive, but very very good!
Phat bass tone should do the P/J combo of these
some day...James. Have a pile of other recordings to get up on line first :)
I like the pickup sound of the jingle in the start and ending of the clip , What pickups is that ??
Hi Stefan - Same here! That was done with a Bartolini 8CBP - fatbasstone.com/products/bartolini-8cbp-4-string-classic-bass-pickup
That particular bass is one that I built for myself in 2014. Maple fingerboard / Alder body. That clip was recorded with the tone knob fully on. The 8CBP smoothed out some of the top end that the maple fingerboard created.
Any chance y’all can do one of these with kloppmann pb57? 😅
Indeed we will Jose...I'll make sure that we get this in the next batch of P bass pickups (possibly over the winter). Unfortunately, we didn't have the PB 57 in stock when we did the last batch of P pickups.
@@FatBassTone amazing! I will await it eagerly
@@jrdPalacios Sounds good!
Ya got me, ordered….lol
