    actually there's two things that would make Tebow a beloved cherished pampered hyped starting q.v., #1 if he was black #2 if he wasn't Christian the Christian hatred is why he's so hated the media placed a one million dollar reward (more of a bounty) for any woman who could come forward and say she had pre marital sex with Tim Tebow, WTF IS THAT that's Christian persecution vs a outspoken Christian that has kept him off field and a slander attack victim of media from day one

      Oh yeah, sure it's his faith, not his less than 50% completion percentage, or the fact that he can't complete passes at the NFL level, or the fact that he can't read a defense, or the fact that even receivers who played with him came out later and said his mechanics were so broken it made their jobs harder (see David Anderson). No, it was toooootally his faith, and not his lack of ability. Definitely

    Colin Cowherd: Tim Tebow is NOT an NFL quarterback -

    • @johnward6860
      @johnward6860 8 років тому +7

      +FOX Sports I have facts that state otherwise. Tim Tebow was the first quarterback in NFL history to rush for a touchdown in each of his first 3 starts. 3rd in NFL history to throw for a 30+ yard TD and rush for a 40+ yard TD in the same game (first to do it in his first start too), also he was the first QB to win a playoff game in the new overtime rules, he also holds the NFL records for longest rush for a quarterback in their first start, also longest rushing touchdown for a quarterback in their first start, most yards per completion in a playoff game, fastest overtime win, and fastest overtime win in a playoff game. Almost two passing TDs for every interception and he ran for more touchdowns than the amount of interceptions he had. In 14 starts he had a total of 29 touchdowns that he accounted for. If you count the playoffs it's 16 starts 32 TDs 9 Ints and 3,926 total yards. That's 2 TDs and 245.375 yards per game he accounted for rushing and passing. He had 5 NFL records, 3 NFL firsts, and an NFL 3rd. Those are accomplishments. That would get my attention if I was a coach, all while getting told he sucks more than any other player. With 5 records, and those accomplishments, plus the winning, I don't care if he completes less than 40% of his passes, I want my team to win. He had a season’s worth of starts and ran for 13 TDs, one short of the rookie QB single record, and single season record, which Cam Newton has. That means he could have had 7 NFL records, with 2 later being broken. The rookie record for TDs accounted for by a rookie QB is 35, in only a single season’s worth of starts, Tebow was just 3 scores short. Those are pro bowl and all pro worthy achievements. If you count the playoffs, he threw over 2 TD passes for every pick. In a season’s worth of starts, he passed 1,000 rushing yards. Also while trying out for the eagles, he had a 58.333% completion rating (3 passes of his were dropped, which would have brought him at over 60%), 286 passing yards 2 TDs 1 Int, and ran 82 yards and a TD. That’s 3 TDs 1 Int and 368 total yards accounted for. Bottom line, he set records and achievements in the NFL that are overlooked. He turned the season around for his team and won a playoff game, passing for 316 yards and accounting for 3 TDs in that game. In one year’s worth of starts, he set 5 records, (could have been seven) had 2 NFL firsts, and an NFL third. (If he had these stats as a rookie starter, he would have been the first rookie Quarterback to throw for and rush for 10 TDs , he also would have tied the record for most rushing TDs in a year for a quarterback, and for a rookie at 13. Cam Newton would have broken them the next year with 14. Which means he could have had 7 NFL records, 4 NFL firsts and an NFL 3rd.) I am saying this again because, in only 16 starts, he accomplished more than most NFL quarterbacks will in their entire career with those achievements. Hall of Famers have gone without setting NFL records, with losing records, with more Ints than TDs barely completing half of THEIR passes. There are quarterbacks who have over 20 more Ints than TDs, and they are considered better than Tebow, because they have a better completion rating. This might sound crazy, but, I would rather have a QB with a 47% completion rating, TWICE as many TDs as Ints, who can run for over 10 TDs in his first 16 starts, gives me 245 yards per game, 2 TD’s a game less than 1 Int a game, and can win a playoff game than a guy that completes 80% of his passes but can’t get to the playoffs, and throws more passes to the other team than the amount of TD passes he throws. In 2 playoff games, he had a QBR of 90.0, accounted for 515 total yards, 3 TDs and no Ints. Tim Tebow, could have been rookie of the year with those stats if he had played his whole rookie season and gotten the stats he did in 16 starts. Rookie of the year, All-pro, and a Pro-bowl. He even showed more accuracy when trying out this year. Someone should get him on their team. There are lots of reasons why in only 11 starts in 2011, the NFL ranked him as the 95th best player in the league. The voting for that is done by players, not by fans. He did all this while people mocked him relentlessly and kept calling him a terrible quarterback. By the way, he did all this for an offense designed for ANOTHER quarterback.
      After Tebow was cut by the Eagles, their rushing game was 29th in the NFL, their passing was 26th. Tim Tebow ran for over 1,000 yards, which if the Eagles had kept him, he could help the running game. The Eagles 2 QBs combined for 23 TDs and 18 Int. Tebow accounted for 32 TDs and only half as many Ints. +9 TDs -9 Ints. He also showed improvement in his accuracy, if 3 good passes weren't dropped by recievers, he would have completed over 65% of his passes and accounted for over 400 yards and 3 TDs to 1 Int. Tim Tebow is a record breaking quarterback, who made NFL history. Tim Tebow is deserving of the title of NFL quarterback. There are QBs that have less than a single TD per game, and they don't get half the criticism. Tim Tebow is a true quarterback. Last years rookie of the year threw for only 14 TDs and 12 Ints, accounted for under 200 yards per game, ran for one TD. Less than a score per game, and he got to start this year, 14 passing TDs 9 Ints and 3 rushing TDs. so it took a ROOKIE of the YEAR..... TWO years to get as many TDs as Tebow, and over TWICE as many Ints!!!!! But yeah, completion percentage is all that matters. Did the really smart guys look at this? He had 5 NFL records. (could have been 7 records) 3 NFL firsts? An NFL 3rd?Also, after Bradford "yawned" how did the QB Tebow got cut for perform? The same guy who did the butt fumble? When Tebow was on the bench, this guy threw 13 TD passes, and 18 Ints, averaging over 40 yards per game of total offense less than Tebow did. Tim Tebow is a rightful franchise quarterback.

    There's 3 downs in Canadian football. It's a pass heavy league. Tim Tebow was never remotely on any CFL team's radar after being cut by multiple NFL teams because for whatever reason he chooses to be so bad at throwing a football. He would never make it in the CFL. And furthermore, I'm from Windsor Ontario and live literally 10 minutes from Detroit. I go to Detroit more than most Suburban Detroiters. Literally.

      John Ward But remember, every team Tebow beat was .500 or worse. Meaning that he beat the worst teams in the NFL. He got to the playoffs by sheer technicality. The Broncos, Chargers and Chiefs finished with identical 8-8 records, with the Broncos only getting the 4th seed on tiebreakers. The defense got them that far. The only team they beat that had a record better than 8-8 were the Steelers, who had most of their defensive opening day starters out with injury. In overtime, Tebow threw a 5 yard pass to Thomas. He is the one who slipped by defenders and ran all the way for a touchdown. Not Tebow. Give Tebow credit for a 5 yard throw all you want, but it's Demaryus Thomas that ran that touchdown.
      And just because he broke some records doesn't mean he's a fantastic QB. Any QB can have a good game. Matt Schaub has the second highest single game passing mark, that doesn't mean he was a great QB, just means he had a good game. Great QBs are QBs who are consistent. I could argue that Joe Flacco is a better QB simply using his 2013 playoff stats. 58% rate, 1140 yards, 11:0 TD:INT ratio. This was against the Indianapolis Colts, Denver Broncos (which went into double OT), New England Patriots, and Jim Harbaugh led San Francisco 49ers. Joe Flacco by those numbers alone, is better than Tim.

    • @BabyKnukleDustr
      @BabyKnukleDustr 7 років тому +2

      brassmonkeyjew Although he could've been successful, I highly doubt it. People put too much on one season. The reason came stuck around after his rookie year because he threw 4,000+ yards and 60%+ completion. In Tebow's 11 starts he completed less than 50% of his passes and threw only a quarter of Cams yardage. He's not as good as Cam, by a mile.
      As far as being a winner, in a way yes, but as I stated before, every team he beat except Pittsburgh went 8-8 or worse. He got in the playoffs by TECHNICALITY.
      He beat a depleted Pittsburgh secondary on 10 passes. He then got trounced by the Patriots, where he again threw less than 50% of this passes. A consistently terrible passer which translates to a mediocre at best QB

    • @BabyKnukleDustr
      @BabyKnukleDustr 7 років тому +1

      brassmonkeyjew And besides, would you pass up on Peyton Manning? Former Super Bowl champion and MVP, former league MVP, and 4,000 passing yards nearly every season. Consistently accurate team leader, practicality a coach on the field? The entire Tebow and "building" a great team is negated because he had some of the best receivers in the league. Eddie Royal, Demaryus Thomas and Eric Decker aren't slouches, yet the most yards Tebow can throw is 1200?

    Cowards like the rest they don't like his wild popularity. He outplayed Matt Barkley and Kelly said they were all playing for a roster spot and that was a lie. I really think Kelly expected him to suck hard in the preseason and when he didn't he just took the cowards way out and cut him. He didn't want to hear the deafening roar that would have come after Bradford got knocked out. Right now as we read this and write our little comments if Tebow had been there they would be in the hunt and Kelly would have had to ride the season out with Tebow. He would have been fantastic with the backfield the Eagles have Tebow would have opened up rushing super highways not lanes. This year the deranged little mad scientist has sealed his fate and Tebow could have saved him. And coward still gets paid to bash him and I just say good for you. Gotta make a living some how.

      coronaflo Watch the video from the preseason he outplayed Barkley. Kelly wanted the circus to drown out the roar over his scuttling of a fairly decent team. They didn't sign him because it would not have been signing a third stringer as I stated everyone would have been yelling for Tebow and Kelly didn't expect Tebow to play as well as he did so he got what was coming. The team could have strait sucked which it did and people still would have loved watching Tebow but one thing remains they could have won with him he's a running game QB and they totally misused Murray. It's all academic now we will never get to see him play again.

    I bet Colin Cowherd wouldn't trusted Doug Flutie as QB either. Tim Tebow might be a VERY unorthodox QB (like Flutie), but when given a chance to start (Broncos 2011) he proved all his critics wrong.

    • @antwhezzy
      @antwhezzy 9 років тому +10

      The issue with Doug Flutie was his height people didn't think a QB at 5'7 can play professionally and he proved them wrong. With Tebow his problem is he has a hard time reading defenses and very inaccurate. He played a game completing only 2 passes. An NFL Quarterback should be able to complete more than 2 passes

    • @AlexandreDiLolli
      @AlexandreDiLolli 9 років тому +3

      +antwhezzy Are you HIGH?? Tebow can read defense after all he beat The Steelers one of the NFL best defense (in a playoff games no less!) with 300 YDS + passing, 2 TD, and ZERO int. CASE CLOSED!

      Are you HIGH?? The Steelers didn't respect Tebow's ability to throw the ball so loaded up the box with 8 in the box. Even though he passed for 300 yards in that game he only completed 40% of his passes so overall he was terrible in that game. For his career he is only completing 47% of his passes. That doesn't sound like a guy who knows how to play QB and be able to read defenses.

    • @BabyKnukleDustr
      @BabyKnukleDustr 7 років тому +4

      USALibertarian What are you, Donald Trump? Here is my research: Tim Tebow started 11 games in 2011. Total of 14 games he played. 12 TD, 6 INT, 1729 yards, 72.9 Rating, 126 Completions, 271 Attempts, 2.2% INT per attempt, 123.5 Yards per game, 46.5% completion.
      That's just his 2011 stats. I sampled 3 other QBs who started 11 or more games in 2011.
      Rex Grossman: 13 starts, 57.9% completion, 16 TD, 20 INT, 72.4 Rating, 3151 Yards, 265 Comp, 458 Att, 4.4% INT per attempt, 242.2 Yards per game. Nearly 1.7x the amount of attempts as Tebow.
      Matt Moore: 12 starts, 60.5% completion, 2497 yards, 16 TD, 9 INT, 87.1 Rate, 210 Comp, 347 Att, 2.6% INT per attempt, 192.9 Yards Per Game. 1.3x more attempts than Tebow.
      Kyle Orton (who Tebow replaced): 8 starts, 59.2% completion, 1758 yards, 9 TD, 9 INT, 77.8 Rating, 150 Comp, 252 Attempts, 3.6% INT per attempt, 195.3 Yards Per Game.
      In 2011 alone, Matt Moore was much better than Tim, as well as Rex and Kyle Orton in only 12 games. Better accuracy and yards, even yards per game. He produced more as a passer, but, arguably, Rex Grossman, by sheer passing numbers, was better than all of them in 13 starts. But he had worse accuracy than all of them. However, he negates the argument of playoffs. He, in the 2006 season, won 2 playoff games with the Bears, and you could hardly say he won the game. He too benefited from a good running game and great defense. However, Tim is certainly better at running the ball.
      I also looked at the three arguable worse QBs of the 2016 season.
      Case Keenum: 61% Completion, 2169 Yards, 9 TD, 11 INT, 76.8 Rating, 191 Comp, 313 Att, 3.5% INT per Attempt, about 1.4x more attempts.
      Brock Osweiler: 59.7% Completion, 2656 Yards, 14 TD, 14 INT, 73.4 Rating, 274 Comp, 459 Att, 3.9% INT per attempt, 1.7x attempts, 204 Yards per game.
      I was going to go to Ryan Fitzpatrick, but I thought I'd go into Cam Newton who is considered a mobile/rushing QB like Tim.
      Cam Newton: 53.4%, 2774 Yards, 15 TD, 9 INT, 78.9 Rating, 213 Completion, 398 Attempts, 2.3% INT per attempt, 231 Yards per game, 1.5x attempts.
      Cam Newton is hardly an accurate QB, in fact, he's regressed as he's gotten more experienced. Tim, with less attempts, had less than 50% completion. Cam this year has only played 13 games, to Tim's 11, but he still played better in his first 11. Also, by numbers, Brock Osweiler somehow has better accuracy than both QBs and with more yards. He does throw more interceptions, but nearly 2 times as many attempts as Tim Tebow. Also, EVERY SINGLE QB I've mentioned has a better yards per game than Tim Tebow. And Tim's Yards per game is about 31 passing yards per Quarter. That, quite frankly, is horrible. And, based on the way Tim rushes the football, realistically how long will he be able to play that style of QB? One of the main reasons that it was so easy for Cam Newton to break the QB rushing TDs record was because some of the best mobile Quarterbacks: Mike Vick, Donovan McNabb, Steve Young, Randall Cunningham etc was because they got older and realized they'd never survive without transitioning into a pocket passer. Bottom line: to succeed as a starting QB, you have to be able to throw the ball. Tebow was good in the 4th quarter, admittedly, but to be an elite QB, you have to play the entirety of games in a consistent, amazing way. I took some numbers of the three best QBs of 2011:
      Matthew Stafford: 16 starts, 63.5% Completion, 5038 Yards, 41 TD, 16 INT, 97.2 Rating, 421 Completion, 663 Attempt, 2.4% INT per attempt, 314.9 Yards per game.
      Drew Brees: 71.2% Completion, 5476 Yards, 46 TD, 14 INT, 110.6 Rating, 468 Comp, 657 Attempt, 2.1% INT per attempt, 342.3 yards per game.
      Tom Brady: 65.6% Completion, 5232 Yards, 39 TD, 12 INT, 105.6 Rating, 401 Comp, 611 Attempts, 2.0% INT per attempt. 327.9 Yards per game.
      So by those numbers alone, Tim is nowhere near elite status, not even Joe Flacco, Ryan Tannehill status.
      Tim Tebow deserves some credit, he was only one of 3 QBs to not throw double digit INTs, but he only started 11 games. Alex Smith threw 5 INT, and Aaron Rodgers only threw 6 INT as well. However, Smith and Rodgers started all 16 of their respective games. Furthermore, each had nearly 2x the amount of attempts as Tebow.
      Tim was a good rusher, and he had all the leadership qualities of a perennial NFL quarterback, but the numbers don't lie. To be a successful, Hall of Fame type QB, you have to be consistently excellent in throwing the ball, which Tim Tebow did not show. I like the guy, and thought he deserved better, but Bill Belechick, 4 time Super Bowl winning coach, said Brian Hoyer was a better QB than Tim Tebow kinda throws a hole in your "argument".

    Tebow was a popular winning quarterback that was kicked out of the league for pushing Christ. Look at his stats. He barely played his first season...2nd season he took over starting in the 5th game after a 1-3 start & led them to the playoffs with a 300 yard game vs the Steelers for a win...3rd season he went to the Jets after his "controversy" of Tebowing "praying on his knee before the game by himself" & was wasted on the bench while the Jets played the worst QB in the league Mark Sanchez. In less than a full year of starts he had 17 TD's 9 INT's, almost 1,000 yards rushing, 12 rushing TD's & a playoff win. Peyton Manning threw 28 interceptions his first year & was 3-13 for example. Tebow was only going to get better...but, wasn't given a chance due to him pushing Christ.

    Attention y'all....I am going to post here the TRUTH about Tebow that has never been uttered in media before today: the problem with Tebow is his skin color! That's an inarguably fact Tebow plays BLACK QB GAME and what's fed up is Tebow better at playing black qb then ANY of the black qb are Tebow is a black style.qb a quick paced running Qb who runs and possess better then black qbs in nil presently do. Cam Newton is best passer of black qbs and be still sucks and it's his legs that make 99.999999% of cams stats and successes if Tebow was black he would be pampered catered to promoted etc just like black qb always have been by league and media but not only does Tebow run break tackles gain yards after contact etc better then black qbs do he also is infinitely better leader and work ethic then any black starter qb in nfl but he is better passer especially deep passing game.Tebow plays the black qb way but because is not black he's treated like a joke, the honest to God truth is if Tebow was black? He woulda been starter every month since rookie year and he'd be pampered catered to protected promoted etc the way black qbs always are by league teams and media. Timmy plays black running qb better then any of the blacks do and not only running black qb better then any blacks but he's inarguably better passer and leader the stats and record and history proves it Timmy is superb at deep passing game and is sensational on passes over 25 yrs he is better black q.v. running wise and passing wise and leadership and work ethic and face of franchise wise by every paradigm Timmy is INARGUABLY better then any black qb today and if he was black he'd be super star hailed catered to protected shamelessly promoted etc just like black has always are, but because he is white man playing black qb he's screwed mocked ridiculed laughed at simply cause skin color is white.it's absurd.he is a black q.v. who does it better then any black qb but is white so is screwed.and no one can possibly argue with this absolute fact. Any black q.v. who played identically to Tebow would be drafted high and promoted pampered and a starting qb year in n out since was drafted. No one can argue this is fact.

    • @dmac5472

      probably the most laughable argument ever. Tebow is someone who I enjoyed in college and who I wanted to be a successful pro. but he isnt as far along as a passer to justify all the support folks are throwing his way. the irony is that in the past, black qbs often never even got an opportunity in the nfl. they generally had to change positions(not give time to develop as qb) or opt to stay qb in the cfl. your argument that Tebow is out blacking black qbs is kinda foolish. his running abilities are closer to that of a fullback than the stereotypical black qbs of the past.

      The only time Tebow ever did well was in the 4th quarter. He was carried by a very solid defense, and his ability to move. Plus, the Pittsburg team he beat was devastated by injuries, and it took only 10 completions to beat them. If Tebow relented to playing as a tight end or halfback, he might of been successful, but he won't. He is definitely not the greatest QB in NFL history, he didn't even start an entire year. He hardly qualifies to be in the conversation of GOAT.
