- A Florissant mother is grieving after losing her 12-year-old daughter to the flu. Tylajah Cooper died at Children’s Hospital on Monday.

I totally agree with you. The initial symptoms of bacterial and viral meningitis are often flu-like. My 19 year old grandson almost died this past summer from bacterial meningitis. He had flu-like symptoms and suffered a massive seizure. If his dad hadn't been home and noticed what was happening my grandson wouldn't have survived. I had bacterial meningitis in 1957 and it started with flu-like symptoms. My condolences to the family of this little girl.
@@birgittaussery4280 I've had meningitis too but I don't know if it was viral or bacterial. Caused multiple seizures. Been taking medicine for it for 10 years now.
I had spinal meningitis when I was 2 years old....if my mother would've waited a day later I wouldn't be here... my prayers goes up 2 the family...I wonder what is the go fund me link I would love it help

Well since the flu kills up to 52,000 per year, I don’t think more investigation needs to happen. The flu kills people. It happens. It sucks, but it happens. Not everything in the world has something nefarious behind the scenes. That being said, this is super sad, she had her whole life ahead of her
The flu has been hitting extremely hard this year. Im a grown adult and it had me in bed for a week. The symptoms however lasted a month. May this baby RIP....sending prayers and hug to the family

As a mother of 3 girls this hurts my soul. Mine are all adults and I can’t imagine losing them now let alone losing one of them at 12.
My 8 yr old is laying here with the flu.
She is with me round the clock fighting fever best i can.
Give her Niacin flush and turmeric and lemon tea. Mixed with theraflu honey lemon as a tea
@@christinam1393 niacin? I have given her the rest of the this treatment but not with Niacin not even sure what that is. It is day 5 and she is extremely sick with green thick stuff coming from her lungs.
Hospital here is not good enough for a dog to be seen and nearest one is 3 hours through mountains.
She forsure has flu she wasn't even with fever until day 3 and now 102 to 100 lowest.
Please tell me about Niacin treatment

Unfortunately, this is more common than people think. Influenza can hit with different levels of severity, and there is always a slim chance that a person’s body will react to it in such a way that it accidentally damages or destroys itself (usually through cytokine storm and the ensuing complications). There are also other complications like pneumonia that can progress rapidly into life-or-death situations. And you’d probably never know that this was a possibility, until it touches your life personally.
A family member got the flu several years back- she was healthy, in her 30’s, never smoked or drank. It seemed like the normal trajectory of the flu at first. Then, without warning, her oxygen levels dipped so low that we had to call an ambulance. She was told to give her final directives on the way to the hospital, before being intubated. We really thought we were going to lose her, and it seemingly came out of nowhere. She was hospitalized for a few weeks, and when she was released, her life was completely different. Her lungs were so damaged that she struggled with day-to-day living. She could no longer work. It was a struggle for her to even shower. She was on several different medications, but still in a completely debilitated state. It took three years for her to recover. Today, she is roughly 90% recovered, but she is still very susceptible to complications from illnesses like the flu or Covid.
You’ll never “get it” until you get it- until it affects you and your family. The advice of my loved one: get vaccinated. Avoid this whole thing. Even if you get sick afterwards, the chance of this kind of potentially fatal reaction occurring will drop significantly. Protect yourself and your family.

She was my best friend and we had school together for two years she was a great people and will always wanted to help people. Me and her would talk her boyfriend all the time but I hate that kids would be talking about her and saying she was a bi*ch when she was alive but now because she is died kids at school what to cry about her death and what to send love to her family but what about like 2 weeks ago when you was talking sh*t about her. So sorry for her loss, this is heartbreaking and devastating. Was it really the flu or something else? What happened and how did she die? Did the doctors try all they can’t? How do you die from the flu at 12 years old I hope Mom get a autopsy. I wouldn’t take that as an answer my 12-year-old died of the flu that’s unheard of.

My child the same age had the flu in December and thank God he healed from it. I gave him plenty of pain reliever orange juice and fresh oranges, elderberry syrup, chicken noodle soup, chili and water. He felt better after about a week and a half. Then the doctor adviced he get the fluvac after he healed in a couple months and I made sure he got it because flu season is not over. Please take care and RIP to this innocent, beautiful girl🙏🏽 She should still be here💔
