@@TeamYen i agree, i mean within temptation is campy too lol (all symphonic metal is) however their music is also genuinely gorgeous and sometimes borderline mystical while nightwish is ridiculously overblown and trying too hard, no hate to their members or any fans of theirs but i just personally can't stand that much...muchness lmao (and i'm a fan of progressive metal so that says something)
@@punkbjork Let's add in the beginning their music was more gothic than symphonic and it was sometimes really "mystical" ;) Then there was the period of symphonic metal, made for popularity and it was their greatest success (Black Symphony Tour) - but in both of these periods the music still had a soul and many songs of that time or in that style I like very much. Later they mostly abandoned also symphonic metal, they went too much into the pop rock and came a bit strained just to create a hit and sell a lot. Some things still went well, "Faster", "Shot in the Dark" or "And We Run" you can listen with real pleasure and Sharon's cover of "Summertime Sadness" I consider the best performance of this song ever - but it's not quite the old WT anymore. 2. Besides, one thing is WT' music and another is Sharon's outstanding, velvety voice - the best untrained vocal in pop music.
