My dude's up to episode 38 and he is questioning whether he can go over three energy.
he isnt asking if he can go over 3 energy, he's asking if he can go over the cap, like 5/3 energy or 7/3 energy, etc.
he should still know this because he's done it a bunch, but still

I just had a corruption, dark embrace, dual wield-feel no pain run with runic pyramid, barricade and double body slam. Earned 999 block against two repulsors :D
Is corruption any good though? It's probably the only card in the game I don't see good use for, it just seems too suicidal to me.
Yeah can’t really have an exhaust deck if you’re willing to throw away good cards just to do three damage, you gotta know what to drop and what to hold on to

NL Perfected strike dosnt just key off of the base "Strike" card it also works with any card with Strike in the name, so other Perfected Strikes, Pommel Strikes, Twin Strikes, and Wild Strike

So i just started to watch this episode and i'm getting a suicide prevention ad, how convenient
25:05 when you see the easy pommel strik play, and then proceed to watch egg fumble his way through and manage exhaust his hand to victory.

49:25 uhh, Seeing Red exhausts itself when played anyways?
At about 49:14 against the Champ he had a free Havoc+ into a Seeing Red with the only consequence being it would exhaust Seeing Red, a card that gets exhausted on use anyway, which then would have given him the 2 energy needed to the play the last card in his hand Sever Soul and deal an additional 16 damage plus the 3 from exhausting Seeing Red. I try to avoid commenting on specific misplays cause sh*t happens, but this one made me want to slam my face into a wall repeatedly. Mostly because I ‘thought’ he knew what he was doing when he played his cards in the order he did.
A card that makes all skills free is too slow... You scrambled this egg
You do not have to permanently exhaust GOOD cards to do 3 damage ONCE... by transforming Strikes and Defends, you removed your best target for exhaust synergy without also going for a Wound Deck.
Also, Bent Spoon and Broken Stick are what makes exhaust focus worth it. Chiron's is a benefit, but don't overcompensate it.
There is no point in "Removing Card" at the store when you literally do that every combat. The longer the combat, the smaller your deck.
And finally, Sever Soul does not require you to exhaust anything. Play it last.

exhaust decks are one of the iron clads strongest archetypes that is if you dont exhaust all of your block on turns hes not attacking...

53:15 Havoc was actually arguably very good because you had already upgraded most of the cards in your deck and you could've upgraded searing blow again (and used it that turn) and exhausted a low-value defend from your deck (because remember, once all of your cards are upgraded armaments is no better than a base defend) and thus gained more momentum for the fight.
That fight against the guardian sphere was the most triggering thing I've seen. I didn't think it was possible to misplay that many cards that many times.
This is one of the best series you've done. I love it and I'm glad it's 2 eps a day 🙂

He got purity, which is the achievement where you have 3 or less cards in your deck at any time. LOL almost didn't realize he was out of cards.
This deck really needed the 1 energy card that adds Wounds and draws an extra card per Wound drawn.
Evolve, yeah. Also power throughs and wild strikes, which he passed up at least 2 wild strikes... ugh.

Purity is an achievement for exhausting all but 3 cards in your entire deck.

"Play 5 cards a turn, 10 dmg to all enemies" would have been so good here. Thats like 20 dmg each turn with those angers and havocs

I think he meant that there was no need to play seeing red, exhaust or not. So the emphasis is on the play, not on the exhaust.

NL rests way too much. You don't need 70hp for the floor 1 boss. 50hp will work just fine make your deck better instead. Especially in a deck like this that had a bunch of cards that are pretty bad until they're upgraded then they get super good.
NL outplayed himself
The deck was wonky, yeah, but it was totally workable. You lost that boss fight because you didn't think about what you were exhausting and ran out of block cards. Also, now we know not to replace 5 of our 7-ish attack cards with random nonsense. Pandora's box is good when you have a 20 card deck and don't care about your standard stuff, otherwise you spend your entire run desperately trying to plug holes instead of building synergy.
Oh look, he chose *T R A N S F O R M* once an egg, always an egg.
Lion... If you have some cards, that's exhaust all non-attack cards and give you block, maybe you want more other cards that can give you non-attack cards? Wounds for example.
Lokk Pik hmm interesting strategy I think this might be too difficult a concept for an egg to grasp :D

During round one of the boss, he could have played the free havoc to get 2 energy from seeing red, which he could then have used to sever soul. 3 + 3 + 16 damage. But "we don't want that". Why. Why.
He would rather have an innate curse than a Metalicize. Makes sense.
46:40 Exhausts Dark Shackles just to do 3 damage a couple of turns earlier that he otherwise would have by playing that card as its meant to be played. And then he wonders why he can't consistently win.

At 49:26 he totally could have Havoc'd into Seeing Red, gotten 2 free energy, and gone Sever Soul. The point of Havoc is it makes the next card free!
1. Havoc is bad.
2. The complexity of this deck is a bit above your paygrade.
I'm glad you're taking more time for each of your decisions though.
Just be glad it wasn't Nightmare+ lightening in a bottle and Afterimage and all of the insanity that comes with it. I think NL would actually have his brain melt from what you have to do to really get that insanity rolling.
havoc isnt bad in the right deck, like pretty much every card
Havoc has great synergy with warcry and headbutt, especially when it's upgraded and costs 0
Havoc's not bad. It's actually pretty good in his deck due to the warcries, headbutts, and high costed cards. It also gets significantly better with Frozen Eye. It's just bad because NL is the one piloting the deck.
Havoc is NOT bad. Havoc can thin weak cards out of your deck (strike, defend) and also play huge hitters for free like Heavy Blade in a strength deck or an upgraded Searing Blow. it's a good situational card
I think once you've really mastered all the enemies and their typical strategy that intent no longer matters

I don't think it works like that; don't you have to play a card for rupture to work (once combust is played doesn't it then count as you losing health to a "power")?
Exhausts synergy deck, or any deck really, doesn't mean filling the deck with as many cards that has the key word (exhaust in this case). You need different elements. In this one you had two debuff cards, one power, huge offence, better than basic defense, some draw and multiple exhaust cards. The defense went quickly to 0 in a prolonged fight of course. You know, because you blocked by exhausting blocks.
What could have saved this run was the dead branch relic but without it this is a kamikaze deck. Even then it is unstable though a very fun deck.
"armamanets gives us 5 block, metalicize gives us 3.." all well and good except metalicize would have healed for 2 and been better if the fight had went longer.

Died because of countless misplays, exhaust synergy is really good if you pay attention to every card in ur hand instead of seeing one card and ignoring the rest -_- just hope you learn to be more perceptice of what's in your deck, don't rush through is my advice

instead of paying 75 gold to remove the curse, lets instead pay 242 gold to lose 1 health to remove the curse every first turn, makes complete sense

NL was trying to force a synergy with the card that if you trash a curse deal 10 damage.
I can't believe he trashed metallize in a deck that exhausts skill cards, long term leaving him without block. Genius.

NL if you get the option to have your 3 first fights at 1 hp for enemies, you can check the map on the top right corner and maybe cheese an elite for a free relic depending on the path

What happens if you exhaust your whole deck?
Fighting The Champ he fails to play the Havoc for the free Seeing Red, into the Sever Soul, because he thinks it doesn't exhaust normally... My brain hurts as he is literally blind... perhaps I should send him my glasses, anyone got a PO box address to send him things?
...Then he fails to just Dual Wield into Sever Soul... playing some nonsense Havoc + Headbutt nonsense... My soul and spire have been slain/made flaccid by these plays... Along with the earlier dumping of Metalicize instead of dumping the extra Havoc/Warcry or immolate since he wouldn't even use that properly x_x
Feel like he was completely forgetting about Dual-Wield + Fire-Breathing. Had he kept that in mind, I feel like it would've been a much easier run.

I honestly don't think not seeing enemys intents is that bad. I tend to play just the best turn possible instead of reacting to the enemy. 2 wins so far and only one unfortunate loss.
Is baricade still in the game i never found it?
Yes but is pretty hard to get. 4 tries to get the card (i want the achivment) and i get it bc i seerch on every merchant.
I feel the most you unloock the hardest is to get a type deck

The deck was great for crowd control, but you just never picked up more damage cards to take out the tanks. I feel like it could have worked you just weren't getting the right cards at shops all in all though good run and you tried a new play style.
havoc looks good, playing a 3 card for 1 is a risk and reward, it's got uses

I would say so and NL really seems to be enjoying it, so I reckon he'd agree.
he's doing two episodes a day, that should be all you need to know.
I want to get some achivments (4 left to get). SO what type of deck need to get:
OTK boss.
25 cards played on 1 trun. (i guess some discard deck or shiv)
Win a combat without playing atak (i guess the only way is poison?)
You can also do it with juggernaut(deals damage after every block) and discard synergies(tingsha deals 3 damage for every card discarded)
Roger Guillem I got the win a combat without attacking by getting Neow's Lament and caltrops. You could also use poison though
i don t think i want to try it with a specific reliks bc is hard to get the one you want. And feels exausting xD.
OTK boss don t have any idea i guess i need relics with energy and the silenc.
for 1 turn killing the boss you can do it with a really trimmed deck and cards that can draw for essentially zero, like flash of steel and something that can draw it back, still needs quite a bit of luck to get something like that and survive long enough to make it infinite. (And it's exhausting as it requires you to play first and maybe part of the second act with a really bad deck, finally did it with shadow form, escape plan and 0 mana colorless draw card that i forgot the name of). There are probably other ways but that was the easiest i could come up with without relying on relics
It would also get you the 25 cards in a turn, Otherwise escape plan and generally card draw heavy deck is good for that. Shivs can help but they do exhaust and don't give additional cards.
And the win without attacking is pretty easy with caltrops and poison.
holy crap NL got Bludgeon 3 times in a row with Infernal Blade... I don't think I've gotten Bludgeon from infernal Blade... Ever actually.
