Yamaha The best at making Martin level acoustic on a budget price
Im 63 and have had a LOT of guitars and this is the best ive owned. Cant say enough good things about it. Had guitars cost more but not better than this one.
What a nice looking guitar. I have had a FG730 for years and I really love it. I think the Yamaha is the best guitar by far for under $500 dollars and they are just about indestructible. I sound just as good as some of the modestly priced Taylor's do.
I was faced with a choice between a 2nd hand Martin 000-16GT and a brand new FG830. After playing both I went with the Yamaha at a third of the price and a sound on par with the Martin. It’s crazy how good this guitar sounds at this price point.
Like others have mentioned a great buy. $ 300 guitars with nice Sitka tops with Rosewood b/s, board and bridge. Capped with a glossy Rosewood headplate. Super guitar for the money.
YES! I'm surprised the headplate is so nice. I have a higher end Martin and the headplate is a sticker. A.STICKER.
My son Jack bought the 830 from Guitar Center and likes it. The downside is he is so busy at work he has little time to
practice. I'm completely the opposite. Being retired all I have to do is practice playing my Martin. Took his FG830 to our
bluegrass club jam session and it got nothing but thumbs up. One of the member of our club owns a 1966 Red Label
Yamaha. And it sounds great for 53 years old.
Weird, I've heard the same guitar played in other videos and it sounded great . The sound was fuller and had more thickness to it . I doubt they had this video miked up very well .
I was watching the FG 830 with the two guys Carl T.I was wondering how can Yamaha put so many expensive materials into thier guitars then turn around and sell it for $2 or $3..like it's nothing ,I mean man I have the 325 by them and I got it at a pawn shop for $100 and it sounds incredible, I'm going to buy the FG830 this Thursday,Wow Amazing people..
Sold!!
To me it isn't a budget guitar but one which I aspire to own and play. I've had a few guitars in my 65 years and none of them sound like the 830.Probably because " "they were real budget guitars ".
I own a Yamaha fg-445 from the 1980s and its all dark green
This guitar with pick ups or yamaha ac1r? Please really need help!
the ac
I am a beginner, Can you suggest what should I buy? Yamaha FG800 or FG830? Whats the difference?
The FG830 is a rosewood body and the FG800 is Nato which is very similar to Mahogany. So the 800 will tend to be a bit brighter tone.
Fg840
