New York is a great city, been there last summer. Darren you should have done a bit more research. There is a lot of good honest you tube vloggers(native New Yorkers) that will guide you to the hidden gems. The new York subway is excellent value to get around and spread your wings around the big apple.
It’s been a sore trip for DJ. Only had 2 decent meals worth the money on this channel. For the others has been consistently bent over in tourist trap establishments. Anyway NY is a great place to visit so it was a worthwhile trip aside from the food.
He’s chosen to go in them to be fair. Brief google / UA-cam would have seen him in a lot better / cheaper places. Seems to only want to venture 15 min outside his hotel
That's not true. Dj went to coney Island and some of you moaned about that! I like his honest reviews and he probably trusts that people won't set out to fleece him because he wouldn't do that to anyone!

Harlem, Brooklyn, Queens, Hoboken would have had more diversity for food. 57th Street is probably one of the most expensive places on the planet for a square mile. Glad you enjoyed it and that's the point of a holiday but your money could have gone further and your tummy might have enjoyed some different flavours. Unless price really doesn't matter to you... If they know that they can make more profit from a customer or get a much bigger tip as a server for upselling... Then they're not going to recommend the Soup of the day... Followed by a simple Green Salad... They're going to recommend the Lobster & Snow Crab Seafood Medley Platter... One recommendation will cost you about $30 to $40 plus tip... The other will cost you about $300 to $400 plus tip. DJ could simply have said... "I'll take a Hot Dog with Onions please!"... And it might have cost him about $5... Adding on those extras on the recommendation of the owner... Is where the additional $5 will have come from... So yeah!... I guess the guy decided to upsell him a much more expensive Hot Dog... If DJ had just asked for a Hot Dog with Onions... The owner wouldn't have been able to upsell DJ a much more expensive Hot Dog... And he would've probably only have paid about $5 instead of the $10 he paid for the owners recommended Hot Dog choice. 🌭👌
On the seafront in Blackpool a burger costs 6 or 7 quid, but if you find Chris higgitts £1 burger bar that's all it costs and it's better than the 6 or 7 quid ones. I think the dragmaster went there at some point dj, find the back streets, especially where the street people live . Much cheaper and better quality mate. Some street vendors out there are literally excellent its a case of finding them.xx

Thanks for your visit to my home Country but sorry it ended on a down note. Sadly that seems to be par for the course for New York City these days. I hope food wise your trip was more positive and maybe if you return you try Boston which is the city I worked in most of my working career and it's now considered having some great restaurants that I wish I would be able to try out if not being homebound now. You'd enjoy seeing the historical sights connected to our time of breaking away from British rule. Well back to watching your two channels in your home Country and the Country of my ancestors. I must say, I was thoroughly looking forward to watching your NYC food adventures when I found out you were going but I have been disappointed. It seems like you didn't do any research before your travels? I appreciate the heat, I was there last year around the same time however it is doable to venture to different parts of NYC, let alone Manhattan, via subway in a short amount of time with little worry of the heat. Its been a case time and time again of picking random things (Going to Nathans and ordering a burger...) and having a moan or going to tourist traps where you pay over the odds (Juniors Chicken and ribs combo) for very mediocre items in a city which only London can rival in terms of food. It hasn't done NYC or your channel much justice. I hope you enjoyed your time away Darren, after all it is your trip. However, the content has been quite sad so would have been better off not putting it up on this channel in my opinion. Here is to a better time of it in Thailand with, hopefully, more research as to places to go!

It's a basic rule for travelling. Check out tourist tips. In Morocco, Marrakech's huge covered market has guides available. They tend to ask for high fees until you look at their official badges and tell them you know the guide price is fixed at XX! I worked for many years in Cannes France on international tradeshows. One favourite taxi scam was for a driver to pick up a non-French fare at Nice airport, not put their meter on and charge a fortune on arrival in Cannes. We warned clients about this in our pre-event info pack and eventually solved the problem by providing free shuttles. As taxis realised their business had collapsed, they changed their illegal approach and agreed on a standard Nice-Cannes set fare🙄
Hey Darren, the hotdog looked great, apart from it being half the size and double the price it should have been. Get yourself a jar of Dino's hotdogs and a tin of stag chilli, you could make several chilli dogs for a fraction of the price. Enjoyed the NY vlogs on both channels.

@@BenzGamingHD I had no idea that he only stays in midtown on his trips to NYC. He needs to do Chinatown in Manhattan and Flushing and the Little Italy section of the Bronx.
@@anneraso5621 I fully agree. I was fortunate enough to get married in NYC last year after visiting a few times and I fell in love with the place. He has put off a large portion of his viewers with his poor videos when in reality, NYC is arguably unrivalled for food.
