You could have made a canister muffler like they do for snowmobiles. Could have had the exhaust come out the side and go up like a tractor at a tractor pull. And then add one of those propane flame thrower kits for exhausts. That would be one hell of a lawn mower!
When I was 12 I found an old moped for $30 at a garage sale. I talked my mom into letting me buy it and that started my family on our "biker" journey. Dad ended up on a Harley, I ended up on a CB500 chopper, and mom tried to ride a CL350. But, a week after I brought home that old moped, dad had a shiny used GS450 sitting in the driveway. He didn't have it long before he upgraded to a GS650. But, he always said how that 450 was the prettiest "rice burner" he ever owned (It was the '90s). To this day, I still have the old man's Harley and the CL350 that was originally bought for my mom.
Ayyy the cb500 i love that bike that was my buddys first ever bike. his dad rode and built harleys in the army during vietnam. He ended up selling it to a young kid and him and his dad ended up completely decking out the bike. They would send my buddy updates whenever they did something big like paint or chrome. Turned out to be a very nice motorcycle.
I was given a cb750 chopper. Laced wheels 4" over fork z bars... I unloaded it at a buddies place and a hr later someone asked if I would take $1500. I kinda regret selling it

I even watch the painting in this and I'm glad cuz I was thinking patina right off the back cuz of how the rear fenders and hood look on this cart I'm glad you kept a classic looking like a classic.
In the early ‘60’s I raced go karts. We ran McCulloch engines. We had about a 3” tall velocity stack on the carburetor. We used a patch cut from one of my mothers nylon stocking over the velocity stack held on with rubber bands. It was our homemade air cleaner. Worked great. We financed our race team with a paper route and taking empty soda bottles back to stores for the deposit. It’s amazing what a couple 12 year olds can do when they put their minds to it.
@@oikkuoek I'm betting he was staying pretty low in the rpm range of that thing, might not have a lot more MPH in it but I bet it could get there a lot quicker revving the gears out farther
@@Greg1096 they're geared way too low, dropping to a smaller sprocket would easily net them a lot more mph, and I bet they'd dip into the 9s or 8s in the 1/8. That tire is so small compared to what it was pushing on a bike.
@@Greg1096 The pass was on full blast. It won't rev any higher unless the pod filter is changed to a free flowing airbox. Even then the single carb setup restricts the airflow significantly. And that "muffler".. No hope getting past 8K.
Gentlemen, this is by far the coolest looking build yet and I love that you used an old and overlooked bike's motor for power. All those twins and small 4s were amazing in their own right. Charles works his ass off as usual, I hope you really love what you're doing and realize the opportunity that you have here is something most of us will never get.
Well, there’s one thing that I keep thinking about and have been for a few years. About 15 years ago my father bought an 80’s Suzukis gs 650 from a neighbor (they called it a “low slinger” and I think that was just an random term for them). What I find perplexing is that it had four spark plugs like a 4 cylinder, and the biggest thing was there was no chain or belt, it was shaft driven. Might not have been the fastest flat out but the torque and acceleration was incredible for what it was
I'm very glad that y'all clear coated the original paint. Looks really great! That was a great run for the "lawnmower". Looking forward to whatever y'all are doing with the rail.
dammit, I commented WAY(inserted at the end) before the end of the video. . . on point with the original patina! LOL with the RH sticker! And, I want to know what the heck the project is when you are putting the exhaust together. Man, I commented WAY too early, lol. What a beast on the strip! How do I get to work for you guys????
Great choice to clear coat. To stop the paint on paint action on the opening hood. Stick 2 washers inside between the 2 painted surfaces each side, then the washers will rotate on each other and give you a tolerance clearance on the painted surfaces.....
13:50 I aint seen yet what Ike came up with, but it seems obvious to me: Flip those exhaust stubs UP, and have chrome bike mufflers comin' straight up thru the hood! Stacks! With flappers on top to keep water out. Also, make em "quick-disconnect", so you can still open and close the hood! 😂
Is the silver go kart on the rack in the background from the little rascals movie from the 90s? The one with the spikes that tried to take out spanky and alfalfa in the race.
I love the fact that you guys are building another racing tractor. Ive been waiting for this whole build for a long time. Ike please this time don't wreck it. Be safe everyone.
Piedmont dragway, niceee! They do drift events there and ride alongs too bout once a month. Never been there fkr the drags tho. The left side of thr strip has what they call "the boss circuit" which i think woukd make a sick drift kart track too.
Only concern I’d have is the cylinders fighting each other and wiping the lobes off the cam. I did that when trying to build a manifold for a 454 big block
Tech tip on ur sock filter. Some window screen over throttle body intake before covering with socket will also help. Honda did that on alot of there old school bikes between air box and carburetors
This build is pretty sweet! When this motor goes, I think you should put a bigger one on it though! I would love to see if this thing with a Hayabusa motor on it. Great video though guys.👍🏼🤩🫡❤️
Who's the new guy? Not watched you guys since you built the little red wagon and cut the roof off that old truck, yet today you popped up on my feed, gald your still rolling, and have a huge shed compared to your Pops awesome garage.

Where is y’all’s shop located? Love the content!
So, the cheap sprockets, where from? Lol
As somebody that currently has a Suzuki gs650g I'm very excited about this video

Yeah, I worked at a Suzuki shop in 1980, and confirm: they had two carbs. Don’t recognize this setup at all.
Love that you cleared over the OG finish.
Happy to be comment 300 !!!!!
Great build liking the 450 🔥🔥
We were just thinking of a two into one comings out the front side like a tractor. Could be the farmer in my head. Central California watching

I lile how you guys just went and made a sick muffler set up looks awsome
I love the drag racing!
It sounded great going down the track!
Much love fromKY! Been waiting a min for the rail to return.
Great choice keeping the patina!
If you'd drop the rear sprocket size to around 30, you could start with 1st and pull gears all the way down the track.
I was thinking 49 or 42, but you're correct.
@@thunderpants645 40 is still a bit much for that rear tyre, but not that far off. somewhere between 40 and 30 would be the sweet spot.

That steering linkage is genius.
I've just started watching in about the last 5 or 6 episodes. You three are nuts and it's awesome.
Now add twin vertical chrome stacks with tractor style flaps on top
I would love to see you guys put one of those chutes runners use to train on the back of that thing. That would put it over the top.
the footage from Isaac's helmet was amazing, shows its a lot faster in person than it looks from the stands, love'n the build

Thanks y’all!! Great vid Guys!! 👊👊✌️🤙
That thing looks like a bad mama jama. Really came out looking great with the clear coat paint job.
It's so exciting to see yall back at the drag strip

Exhausts should go straight up through the hood with rain flaps on the top 👍
One of my favorite builds.
Love that mower!!! I live close to piedmont dragway Maybe I'll see you there someday
The mower is infinitely cooler than the rail cars! Awesome video

I got scared when they were talking about sanding and painting
I was questioning the gloss clear coat until you got it on the lawn mower it looks pretty good
Two thumbs up for Charles making the stickers symmetrical on the body. This type of quality control separates us from the rest of the animals.
Only John would consider painting that aged tinwork bright blue 😅😅
I say keep that sweet patinaa!

It turned out better than I thought it would but that steering linkage is….. unique for lack of a better word. But it works.
For some reason this build really tickles my fancy! I really want to build one now! Awesome content for sure gentlemen!
A Lawnmower doing 53 mph🤣. This Old Man from Washington NC enjoying what y'all dream up ❤️. Always looking forward to Wednesday and your videos. 🛵🧔💝💝💝
Gonna need a lawn mower ornament to go with my dragster ornaments.
I love this build. I think it should be called the Drag Rat.
Great vid! I hope that the new rail content you guys have coming up is for the Dirt rail! I can't wait to see more of it!
The clear coat patina paint job was the right choice for the build looks awesome keep up the good work guys 👍
Like I said previously.... One of the coolest things that y'all have ever built and it officially halls butt to boot!
Excellent lawn care.
Nice job guys 👍
Love the patina look 👌 Awesome build guys 👍✌️

23:10 Omg is the v twin dragster coming back.
Great job guys on the Zero Turn. The paint and graphics look great
To quiet down that exhaust even further could've put some fibreglass packing that muffler with a mesh screen so it doesn't get blown out
So happy you decided to keep the rusted look!
Absolutely dig the rat rod paint scheme 👍 🏁
The lead in to the Harry's ad was hilarious! The build is awesome! I love watching this channel!

How about the exhaust coming up with glass packs and tractor flaps?
