    Having owned the 23 Sequoia TRD Pro for a couple of months now, I can say that I'm fairly impressed with the setup. It's comfortable, good looking, and moves a bit too fast for a 6,200 lb vehicle. The powertrain is nice, mpg is usually around 12 for city and 19 on highway. I've honestly been waiting for toyota to move away from the v8. Haven't really tested out the solid rear axel for offroading but it's suppose to be more stable for that and towing. Haven't ran into any issue with putting large things in the cargo area, but it would be nice to have a lower load floor. I'm pretty happy with my purchase but time will tell how reliable these new systems are.

    This is definitely towards the bottom of my list in the segment. They got rid of the bullet proof engine and rear rolling window. The back seats are useless, the only thing I personally like is the interior asthenic.

    • @MercOne
      @MercOne Рік тому +5

      Which shows how unimpressive Toyota really is, if this is true. They were only reliable because they were using outdated engines. Make something brand new an "bulletproof" and then you're doing something impressive. Most seem to think that they can't do that.

    • @dtay8913
      @dtay8913 Рік тому +3

      @@MercOne As I grow older I've come to have that same mentality. To each their own, spend your money on whatever you want, but just like with some Nissan models I'm not spending current prices on vehicle's that are 10, 15+ years old in technology and design. If that's the case I could just buy a used one.

    For all SUV reviews, please lay down a 4’x8’ sheet of plywood or drywall in the back with all seats folded down. I would argue a true SUV should be able to accommodate 48” wide to be useful. If it doesn’t lie flat, it’s a crossover.
    The Escalade ESV/Yukon XL/Suburban can hold a 4’x8’ sheet flat with plenty of extra space. Nissan Armada/Infiniti QX80 also can lie flat 4x8.

    This is the nicest family car for road trips. My 2005 Toyota Sienna is still running flawlessly at 325K miles without having to rebuild anything and is great road trip vehicle but the new Toyota sequoia is a level above the Sienna.

    Great video you guys! The Sequoia is a great car, but you make a lot of sacrifices for the hybrid battery. I honestly would get the Grand Highlander since it is smaller and easier to park, while having more space than the Sequoia.

    The front interior is amazing, but they f***ed up the rear. When I first saw this at an auto show, I was stumped. I was wondering why anyone would want it with a 3rd row that's rendered useless if you need the cargo space behind it. Yes it can tow almost 9,000 lbs, has rear air suspension (opt.), and yes it gets better gas mileage... and tops out at $80,000+.
    I have a 2022 Kia Telluride... fully loaded. It has as much rear interior room, a useable 3rd row with plenty of space behind it (it's about 10" shorter), self leveling rear suspension(opt), and the same mpg... perhaps a little better. It can only tow 5,000 lbs, but it also cost $30,000 less.

    • @plmn93
      @plmn93 Рік тому +3

      They screwed up the Tundra's rear seat as well. No flat floor, no underseat storage in the Hybrid. This seems like an afterthought, throwing a rear end on the platform for as cheaply as they could. Doesn't seem like Toyota is too serious about full size trucks anymore. Either that or they are confident Toyota fanboys will buy whatever they make.

    Despite the major improvements in terms of luxury and aesthetics the old sequoia seemed to a lot more room compared to this new generation. This has a smaller look and feel even considering its 3 inches longer than the older sequoia. Even the wheelbase is the same and the old sequoia feels larger. They definitely chopped some space off in the cabin. i think this is something the Americans are really good at. The GM triplets and the expedition those are all stellar products because they are very cavernous. Not saying that this is bad or anything but Toyota seems to have prioritize aesthetics over space. I mean reliability is the only thing this has going for it. Cuz the class is pretty much equal on features and comfort.

    like it. grille is better looking than the tundra , shorter wheel base ,but the 3rd row takes up to much cargo space when folded down, not to good for dogs, wish there was a. 2 row for us who have no need ,want , or will ever use a 3rd row, I want payload , cargo space no 3rd row= more payload and towing do like the soild rear axle .

    Honestly, I do not agree with the opinion of the third row. It seems that it is enough for an average adult and has several amenities. Also the second row can be pushed forward a bit and still have more than enough space. For more serious space, buy a minivan a Kia Carnival or I don't know, a Chevrolet Tahoe, the biggest, yes, a Toyota is not going to be in the workshop all the time, nor is the gearbox going to overheat as soon as it sees a little effort outside of the road
