  • After a service on the old shocks the Range Rover started having issues starting and idling. She would stall about 10-15 seconds of being cranked over. In attempting to diagnose on my own I decided to go ahead and clean my throttle body, just to rule out carbon build up in the intake. Enjoy!

No gasket on the stepper motor, (could have been the problem) no measurement of the throttle plate, that allen head bolt that sets the throttle plate doesn't just go in until it's tight. Please tell me that you did measurements off camera. There are going to be a lot of Rover owners with really messed up idles after this video. That deicer plate has a paper gasket for a reason as well, it may hold, though I don't know what sealant your using, but if not, your going to have a nice coolant leak which you will have to remove the plenum to fix later, maybe in weeks or even months. Since you did not find Carbon in the intake and now have taken it apart and lost the setting of the throttle plate, (though I see the plug hiding the throttle adjustment screw was already missing, hmmm) you may be chasing the correct idle speed for quite a while. It is nice and clean though.
