I fell in love with the recorder 55? years ago and consider it one of the most lovely instruments. It calms and soothes me with its tenderness, serenity, nostalgia and occasionally its light melancholy. I am a self-taught violinist but love all instruments- the oboe suits some of the pieces I write, so does the flute--I don't compose on the bass clef which does limit my range. Many thanks for this exquisite music. I live in Melb
Especially the second and third part are beautiful. I have played them several times during church services. I am already playing this concert since 1977. And it is always fascinating.
Carlo Post - any tips for learning it? I have the second movement pretty well under my belt - and I can play the notes in the other 2 - ha ha - just having difficulties getting it all to sound connected.
@@honeychurchgipsy6 Practise scales, technical exercises, etudes... You need to get used to fast finger changing. You should also feel absolutely confident and sure while playing the sixteenth notes.
I use to listen to this second movement when I where on high school I never new it where Sammartini who wrote it! Brings back alot of memories, thank you
Toby Barnwell - have you listened to the Frans Bruggen version - even slower than this, and with very few ornaments, so it can be followed when practising. Plus he is playing a beautiful original Terton Soprano which is lovely to hear. I have been learning (on and off) this concerto for a few years now, and still struggle with the third movement. Good luck!

That's lovely to hear. How is your composing going?
I watched the whole show, thank for honoring the recorder!
This is very enjoyable music. Both the orchestra and the recorder player were excellent. Also what a beautiful venue.

Very well played.
practice for my self:
1:13 bar 57
1:26 bar 69
2:16 bar 114
2:29 bar 126
Interesting anticipation of the Classicism (at least in the firstmovement): the composer might be [very] ahead of his time.
Bravo! What is the name of this excellent flutiste?

Schön, aber zu viele Triller
I guess he borrowed that music stand and she was taking no chances getting it back.
Ich kann die Sopran Stimme auch.
...OUT OF TUNE!!!
You're right! (The recorder player of this video)
I was surprised not seeing any comment on this. The recorder is clearly sharp in it's so sad because it is a good performance :(
