I missed this one when you first posted it. WOW!!! Amazing collection. Piki Wadsworth is the most amazing artist. And, I never thought I would even see a photo of Bisbee beads! Thank you so much for your videos.

Hey Mike- another great video I could have kept watching for hours and hours. You mention waste quite a lot but I know that cabbers and collectors simply save the small stuff and make beads with those. That’s what I do. Bob Brucia’s natural beads are nice too

The photo on the web site turquoiseinamerica.com shows some Ithaca Peak bead nuggets I got from Bob. Thank you. Many will just drill the tumbled nugget to avoid waste from cutting. Regardless of the size of the nugget, which will certainly determine the size of the bead, waste will remain a constant factor. Free form cabs have the least then calibrated cabs and then beads although bead cutting is beyond my lapidary skills.

Thanks Mike, Great video and I am a big admirer of Piki Wadsworth’s work, always beautiful colors, and each bead cut and polished in t harmony with the other. I was glad to see your video on the Wheelwright’s channel. Hope I see you there some time. Thank you for all the information.

Imitation turquoise is abundant out there. I believe I came across some genuine turquoise beads I found in a jewelry jar bought from a thrift store up here in Canada. They're just tied on a simple cord, separated with knots. They look tumbled. Each one looks as though they came from a different mine, one of them being very close to having the same matrix as a ring I have. I'll never know for sure but I love them ☺️

    Hello Mr. Mike!
I have inherited a necklace from my Aunt who has now passed. She lived in Arizona. This piece was kept in a safe for 35 years, been in my safe for at least 20 years. I’ve been told it’s called PAWN something like that. The nuggets are different sizes with silver beads in between and silver hook type clasp. Also told it’s Navaho. How is a value placed on a turquoise necklace like I have? Appreciate any feedback.

I would contact a well established Indian arts dealer who knows vintage jewelry.

Well thanks for that info! Now I at least know the beads on the found necklace is untreated and that's a start...I have a mainstone that I have yet to see anything like... it's untreated and full of copper veins...

Man I love Bisbee but I'm so late to the game, I think I can't never effort any good quality anymore on the juwelery I like :( I'm looking for a bracelet for more than over a year now all over the world and can't find a decent piece of dark (spider) web bracelet. But you have so many beauties in your collections, I come now and visit your channel and see whats possible when you are living close to the source and know people in the buisness ;) I really wish I could contact you Sir. Best wish to ya :)
