I bought just the old man Superman. He definitely has pros (good cape) and cons (‘S’ isn’t sculpted) but the infamy of the wave made him a must-have for me.
I'm really on the fence about picking this set up. On one hand, the price is crazy, $140 total for me with shipping and the 10% code. BUT, and this is a huge but, this set is exclusive and you aren't going to be able to find this on the secondary market for cheaper than it is right now. Not a chance. This would be a yuge hole in my DCM collection, and I can totally see this set going for something ridiculous like $500 in the future. Plus the whole EQ raffle thing with the 2 platinum figures you have a much better shot at winning if you buy the set and we don't know what the 2nd one is going to be yet. I really wonder if Todd is planning on dropping the price on that set at some point? Almost seems to me he's stubborn enough to just yank them from the site if they don't sell out, lol. Thanks for the review. With the Red Tornado hands on KF, it's not as egregious, but why not a Pariah figure in the wave instead? Just a really lame figure.
I just got mine today and to my surprise i got two pshyco pirates and no spectre i was pissed twice this happened this month not getting the right figures they also added two flashpoint comics in the box like they knew what they were doing i saw where a couple people saying they also didn't get spectre but got two pshyco pirates i think whoever is packing this wave is hording the spectre since it is the only one that is sold out so now i have to send the duplicate back and wait and hope i get my spectre im really disappointed
Yeah I really started going hard buying some of McFarlane stuff recently but IDK I think I may have my fill of some of those more expensive and secondary market hard to find characters. Yeah this is a easy pass unless the price goes down🎉🎉🎉
this wave isn't any worse than most mctodd dc waves. it's probably better than a lot of them. it's just the price that makes it unacceptable. the problem isn't you buying it, the problem is todd shouldn't have gotten the dc license to begin with because he's gonna keep doing shady shit like this.
So i think for the price this was on MFTS for these figures are not good enough. The only ones that get a pass for me are psycho pirate and monitor. Spectre not having the same kind of head joint as azrael making his head unable to look is super disappointing. Supes belt big forehead and worryingly trabsparent chest logo( yours has looked the beat out of all ive seen) makes him a bif of a let down and agree with your thoughts on kid flash completely. Thankfully the one retailer in the UK getting these is selling them for rrp of a standard wave sp im not too annoyed personally but if i paid over £25 for any if these id feel pretty underwhelmed

As a die hard Superman fan.. this Superman really pisses me off.. he had 95% of a perfect classic style Superman and he fucked it all up with the head sculpt. I understand that it’s not referencing a classic Superman but a specific variation of Superman, but also, i don’t care. I’m looking for certain things out of my Superman figures and this had almost all of it. But since I’m a MOC collector, i can’t buy this cause of the head. Now i contemplated buying on and getting a Christopher Reeve head for it, but now the giant ass S on the cape and the unfinished paint kills that plan. Just all around pisses me tf off. It’s like Todd hates Superman or something. He always seems to get the shaft
I didn’t get any. The Superman could be worth it since it has the cloth cape that’s wired. Getting one on from a customizer would make it about 40$. I don’t know the other characters others than kid flash so not really interested in this wave.
Oh I'm definitely ok with the purchase. I just hate that McFarlane makes goofy decisions. I'm rouitn for this line to do well and improve. So set backs disappoint me.
A good review of bad figures. I think the only one I would take..not buy..is The Spectre. The villains are goofy ass looking characters will no collectible value. Kid Flash is trash. Will Toddy Mac EVER make a great Superman figure? His very first Supes & the reuse of it in the two pack was close but every other one had serious flaws. The opposite of “super”. That unpainted belt on Supes pisses me off, 40 bucks for a half painted belt?? If Hasbro did that people would be furious.
It's pretty bonkers. Which is really a bummer because there's some good stuff going on with the figure.

I only bought this wave because The Spector sold out as a single figure, and you could only get him in the set.
