Great review, I just finished it and I have to say there were lots of things I enjoyed about it, (the atmosphere, the mystery of it all) especially during the first half, but then it just kind of lost me a bit. Like, there were so many unanswered questions! I kept feeling like some of the stuff we were getting was all leading up to some big mysterious reveal, but then, nothing. Moths.....that's all I'll say so as not to spoil, but what was the point of them unless I missed it, haha - and I feel like we went from 0-100 really quickly at the end with some aspects. I also gave it 3 stars.
Great perspective. I would agree as well. The first half was much better. I felt very conflicted about this one. Like it was so close to being a great book. 3 ⭐️ twins
Xander is so cute! And I have to give him credit for jumping up there. My 13 year old shih tzu expects me to pick her up and put her on the coach. We tried stairs, but she refuses to use them. Thanks for the video!
Omg I love Xander!! I have one baby who does stupid things too and demands a lot of love, especially when I’m busy 😹😻 (though of course his twin is a perfect angel). I’m sorry this book didn’t work out for you. This wasn’t high on my TBR and your review confirms that this is not my type of book. Immature characters in academic settings drives me crazy!
This wouldn’t be for you based on what you’ve said. And omg could you imagine Xander and your cat getting up to mischief. They’d take the house down. Believe it or not I have another cat more mischievous than him, she climbs on the roof of our house. 😂
I LOVED The Magicians TV Show... But I've heard that is quite different from the book... I did put this sudiobook on hold... I hope this doesn't turn out to be another Atlas Six... Great magic, Great characters, so much potential to be a great book and just wasn't... But I do love me a magic school setting
I just got this book in my Illumicrate Evernight horror subscription today! I don’t think this is horror. Was it scary? I might have to cancel Illumicrate, this would be the 4th non scary book in a row.
It is for sure not horror. I can’t see any way that it would be classified as horror in my opinion. I’m sorry that’s happening, sounds like the last picks have not been what you hoped for.
Aw sounds disappointing! I wanted to read this one but I’ve also just read so many books about people figuring out they have magic so I’m not sure if this will feel like something I’ve already read

Awww we have an almost 13 year old golden retriever, so many sweet babies. ♥️
Think I’ll be giving this one a miss, but the magicians went straight on to my TBR 🤩
I never finished that series so hmu if you want to 😂
I read it too and talked about it in my midmonth wrap up for Oct but you echoed a lot of the reasons I didn't love it.

@@ryreads LOL sounds like you have a full time job just supervising your two! Add mine in and they’ll take the house and the sidewalk down 😹
Okay, I'm in a video meeting listening to this and Xander just made me LOL.
Haahahah I love that. I’m sorry that happened and also 😂 🐱

I am so curious what you think of this please let me know!
Ah! I have this coming in a book box… I hope I kinda like it
I would be so curious! Let me know.

Yeah I would say the only thing that might feel different could be the way the magic is used? Maybe library it, if the other parts sounded good
@@ryreads ok! Also one of the genres listed on goodreads is horror, did it feel like that? I’m a scaredy-cat 😂
