You can but it's a lot harder to find consistent loads for something small. . You can probably do furniture and appliance deliveries in a small box truck locally.
If I have a 26 ft box truck, can I also take loads that say 16ft? Or does it have to be specific 26 ft loads? Also, what are the search options that I can search for with a 26 ft box truck? SB, Van? And what others? Thank you so much brother. Completely new to this.
That is just the dimensions of the load. You can take anything that fits in your truck, upto 26 ft. Ideally, smaller loads are better because it burns less fuel. I've delivered a lot of 1-2 pallets in a 26ft box truck.
Some may ask for the year of the truck, but most don't. The thing is, these trucks take a pounding over the road, so you want something that won't leave you stranded.
can you send me a snapshot of loadboard for Northern VA, i dont want to jump the gun if there isnt enough work weekly thats is at least leaving my area.
Good video. I have a question. Why do you say Florida is hard to get out of? What do you mean? I’m currently live in Florida and about to invest into a 26ft box truck. Any suggestions?
It will open some doors that will be otherwise close to the majority of other box truck business owners. It means you can delivery to military bases, and ports which means more loads that you have access to. Everyone should get a TWIC card, and a Hazmat endorsement if possible.
You can rent one, but the rental fees are through the roof. They cut into your profits big time. If you can buy one, it will save you thousands of dollars in rental fees.
All you have to do is bid on it. If it's on pallets and heavy, you probably won't have to unload it. If it's furniture going to a house, then you'll probably have to give a hand 🙂
@@Kobe8DaGreat24 It's your company, so it's your choice. Brokers don't do background checks on the companies they give loads to. They do a quick search of the MC# and know within seconds if they'll give you the load.
Not really, refers are usually on the outside of the box, and can be turned off when not transporting refrigerated goods. If it was me, I'd go with a refer box truck since the vast majority of box truck owners don't have them. A refer can get you out of a bad state while everyone else is forced to take a bad load to get out. The more doors you can open in this business, the better.

Would it be a good idea for me to finance a box truck and look for loads? It’s kinda my only option right now
That would be the best option right now since renting would eat up most of your profits.
Can you make money with a smaller box truck or does it have to be a 26 footer.

Are you still in the business?
For a beginner is it easy or hard to get a load for a broker
It's not, it's more about the age of the MC. A lot of company's shy away from new O/P's
Do they require a certain year box truck or can you operate with a older truck?

Did you buy DAT?
What’s the best ELD to get. I see Garmin has one. Have you used that one.
No I haven't the Garmin ELD, I've always used Keeptruckin.
@@boss-lyfe ok I got cha. That damn 24 month subscription/contract is a deal breaker for me with Keep Trucking.

Hello,is there a difference between the $39.99 and the other ones that cost more from the DAT loadboard? Ther is a $270 dollars one
Yes, DAT power has a lot more features, including the auto refresh which can be great so you don't have to keep manually refreshing the page all day.
What kind of opportunities does one have with a TWIC card?

Can you Do this if you have a pending felony assault case?
Last I checked you are the owner operator who's doing a background check on you? Nobody
You are the boss, so unless your don't want felons driving foe you, you are ok.
@@boss-lyfe I'm assuming he has the felony I won't be hiring anyone in that situation.

Do you know if reefer box trucks width inside is smaller than nonreefer box trucks? Plus, would it be a problem when hauling non refrigerated freight?

Its funny how some of these destinations are so far and they pay next to nothing, how can ohio to florida be 400 dollars? lol
Some of these brokers have no shame 😁

Dat board has been horrible the last week I'm in a 16 foot box truck.
I can imagine. Not many loads for a 16 footer. Try Mothership and see if there is anything you can do locally.
