Thank you so much for sharing Virtual Stampex in your latest #philately vlog, Graham. I could not be prouder of what the PTS is achieving right now. We are so excited about this bold new concept and can't wait to introduce collectors, enthusiasts and newbies to the Stampex brand - to share in talks, chat away in fully integrated chatrooms (no need for downloads!), see world class exhibits and to meet our PTS Members, and some of the biggest names in philately, via video, to learn, to sell and to add to collections. See you there! PS. LOVE your music choice. Maybe we should have a joint Graham/Suzanne playlist playing in the lobby at Virtual Stampex 2021. I'll add it to the requirements list... We look forward to receiving lots more feedback as we continue to develop the Virtual concept, and put even more X into Stampex at the physical show in London next year.

Starting to scribble down songs for the playlist now!! :D Thanks Suzanne, looking forward to the event!
This is one of the most exciting events for philately since the start of that little UA-cam channel..Exploring Stamps..something like that. :P
What an opportunity for Work From Home/Resurrected Stamp Collectors. I would have never been able to get to Europe for an event like this. Cannot wait to sign up! Thanks :)
Same! Hard to get from Australia to anywhere! So heaps excited to attend. :D
Yes!! Looking forward to seeing you there Laura! 🙂
@@ExploringStamps You were spot on. Registration was oh so easy. They should track how many people came on your recommendation.
I had heard about the virtual stamp show from a few people but had some questions, thankfully you helped with most of them! Thanks!
Hope to chat with you there! :D
Glad it could help 🙂
Well, this is the first time I’ve ever watched a UA-cam video and discovered that the video knows I’m watching it! I must have looked just like Keanu during his cameo appearance. Thanks Graham (and the PTS) for this preview. It looks amazing and I can’t wait to meet everyone there! Until then, Graham, this one’s on me! 🍻
Woohoo, you got my message ;) I was eager to feature both you and Keanu in the same video, it just felt right. Looking forward to seeing you at the show, Punk. Cheers 🍻
"Your friendship and viewership is important too me." You are the most wholesome person. Your channel is getting me into stamp collecting. Keep up the videos
Will do! thanks for watching, and glad you are enjoying the channel :)
New format working well, keep it up. Postcrossing may just help save snailmail, anyone with an interest in stamps and sharing that interest, should take part. I'm just over a year in and its amazing the communication that comes across and the diverse folks that take part.
Thank you for the preview and information. I am looking forward to stampex and learning about post crossing. Keep up the great work.
I gotta join post crossing soon, so many people that I know are in love with it :). Thanks for watching, hope to see you at Stampex.
Liked the concept of virtual Stampex.
Should register and go through each booth.
Absolutely, and come stop by my booth :)
Thanks and will be registering. Postcrosser for many years and enjoy it.
🙌 I must join Postcrossing in an upcoming video!!
@@ExploringStamps You will enjoy it and, as you mentioned, the stamps
Tom Bowman 🙌
Hey,
This channel has honestly kept me going to improve my stamp collection, so just saying I really love and support this channel! However I am wondering on where you get your stamps? I would love to know so I could improve my collection. Keep up the amazing and outstanding work!
Thank you,
Hi Aidan, thanks so much for the kind words. My 3 spots I go to for stamps are eBay, Hipstamp and stamps.org.... but I’m hoping to make some contacts with reputable dealers at this virtual Stampex 🙂
@@ExploringStamps thanks for your hard work and success in next episodes
This idea of an online stamp show is amazing! I already registered and can't wait to explore it!
Great! I will see you there Mayra 😁
I always wanted to attend STAMPEX, but living in Thailand it was a long swim. Thanks to a very informative #philately, I'm going this year.
:) Hope to see you there Chai, no swimming required.
Hi Graham your work on stamps is fine. I like it very much,
Thanks, Graham, this was great! I registered for StampEx after seeing Isobel on 'Conversations with Philatelists', but I think this was a much more in-depth intro to the show. I'm really looking forward to "attending". Thanks, again!
Excellent Greg, I will see you there!😀. Thanks for watching.
I work in events based marketing at Bank of Montreal, and we've had to switch to this sort of virtual conference. It has proven very popular, and has proven quite a challenge to make accessible. Glad to see philately following suit.
Love your videos. Thanks for showing this.
Great overview of Stampex; sounds exciting. Hope to see you there.
Thanks Ted! I hope to see you there :)
I love your enthusiasm and I am sure that it has served as an example for many people. I also believe that you are always evolving as a philately researcher. We must not forget your workspace which is fantastic. Greetings from Portugal. Well done.
Thank you Antonio! Glad you like the workspace and the show, thanks for watching in Portugal 🇵🇹:),
Excellent video again - I am registering and will check the fair because of your video. See you there! Thank you for promoting the hobby :-) Really enjoying this series!
Please do! Stop by my booth and say hi during the show :). Thanks for watching Pedro!
First of all, my eyes were absolutely glued on the UA-cam Red button frame made out of the stamps! It's so so cool!
Also getting the virtual tour to the Virtual Stamp Show was amazing! Have already registered but this helped clear a lot of things about the show.
Would be really looking forward to chat with you live during the show.
I don't think I would have ever been able to attend a stamp show in London but this has given me such a Unique opportunity!
Looking forward to seeing your booth at the Stamp show!
And as always loved the episode!
If possible please do a complete episode on showing us the mails you get, like a Mail Day Episode! 😁
That’s a really good idea, Nirav. Maybe a ‘mail day’ video at some point will be needed, maybe sooner than later 🤔. By the way the UA-cam stamp picture was made by Suzanne at Artstamped, see the video about her on my channel in regard to stamp art at Stampex. Thanks for watching 😊
Completely different from how I imagined it would be. But much better in many ways, hope I don't miss too much. Thanks for the postcrossing bit too, will definitely be checking out that stall. Very excited too
Yeah definitely is not what I expected either, let’s see what the experience is like when it’s open and live. I look forward to it 😊. Totally going to the Postcrossing booth day 1.
Thanks for that as well! I just registered at postcrossing and will send the first postcard tomorrow. I have to buy stamps first - didn't need any in months..
Thank your for this info. I registered the event! Good job, I am new to your Chanel!
Excellent!! Definitely stop by my booth and say hi! Thanks for watching :)
I collect stamps since 1969. My father made me initer as they collected since childhood. Today I continue my mainly Canadian collection and specialization stamp of artwork from France and aviation. For a long time I was on a youtube channel to follow the philatelic news when by happy coincidence a youtuber in physics and astronomy advised us to do research by center of interest that we like in order to help young youtuber. This is how the French channel "e-think" led me to you! Bravo for your content that I devour day after day to make up for time!
Cannot wait! The hype is building! Looks like we will be doing coffee shifts. Haha!
🙌👀 Coffee and Donuts... My virtual Stampex diet.
Congratulations and thanks for sharing Stampex, your channel is very interesting!!!!!, Greetings from Chile
Thank you so much! And I hope to see you at Stampex (virtually) 😀
Registered for the StampEx show because of your video and encouragement!
Woohoo!! See you there Louis! :)
Wow! That was amazing! Thank you for very detailed explanation, because this solution is really clever in my opinion. Now I have a massive brainstorm :)
You are very welcome! Hope to see you there :)
@@ExploringStamps Unfortunately I have annual conference (related to my work) at the same time :( , but I'll try maybe on a last day
Seems a great idea. And excellent video like ever 😃
I agree, I think it is a great idea... I look forward to seeing how it plays out. Thanks Imtiaz 😀
Another great episode loved it, what a great idea the virtual stamp how is I definitely will be checking it out. Even when thing get back to normal I feel these virtual shows will still be an awesome add on to the show as you said we can attend from anywhere in the world and as i live in Melbourne will not be getting there any time soon, even though in the future would love to see it live,
Thanks Ross, I agree! The virtual show may be here to stay, as you said it might be an 'add on' to the in-person show, this will give it a global reach :). Hope to see you there!
Look forward to 'seeing' you there Graham! 😁
Great!! See you there Oliver :)
Very good video Graham. I hope I will be able to attend (schedule). I will certainly try.
Please do! I hope to see you there David, thanks for watching :)
@@ExploringStamps You are very welcome. I put the dates on my calendar. I really hope I have the time to watch it. By the way, I know the dates, but not the hours. Just tell me the American hour. I will do the counting myself.
This episode felt solid, complete and rounded. I'm starting to approach the videos with the right frame of mind now: whereas the classic Exploring Stamps started from a stamp and then expanded outwards, now there will be videos where a stamp might not be part of the script at all. I guess that's what was missing most for me in the first two videos, but that's exactly why this is #philately and not Exploring Stamps. Bottom line: outstanding content and delivery. A+
Scrolled the comments a bit and while I understand the “it looks like clipart with text photoshopped on” complaints... I kinda luv it? It reminds me of 90’s point and click adventure and FMV games. Or the early 2000s internet. It has a charm that appeals to me - can’t wait to see it in motion.
Another awesome episode! I love interview and The Matrix part....😆
Thanks Louis :)
Despite the slightly tacky this is awesome. Looking forward to it! Great vid as
:) Looking forward to seeing you there. Thanks for watching Kebab King :)
I have always wanted to go to a stamp show, I guess now is my chance!
Do it!! And stop by my booth to say hi please :)
Can't wait!
Another great blog!!
Sounds very interesting.
It is! I hope to see you there Laura! 🙂
Hello again. I collect stamps since 1969. My father made me initer as they collected since childhood. Today I continue my mainly Canadian collection and specialization stamp of artwork from France and aviation. This could be the new normal, virtual event alongside the actual event, when the times get better.
😊 A hybrid of the virtual and real world would be the perfect combo for the future events, at least that’s my thinking.
~ Very informative about the VSS! Can't wait to explore and learn more in the next few days...and send out some postcards for World Postcard Day tomorrow. My Kindergarten students will also be writing [a simple sentence] to their families and I will be mailing the postcards out to their individual homes. :D
I will most definitely attend and check out the Postcrossing both...and of course I will say hello to you.
Awesome! Yes please don't forget to say hello at my booth 😁
Wow, another great episode :)
Thank you 😊
Graham, I recently attended a virtual stamp show and really enjoyed some of the talks and interactions. Previously registered for the upcoming Virtual Stampex and am looking forward to it. I plan to stop by your booth if possible.
Excellent! I will see you there Mark! 😀
looking forward to visit stampex 2020!
Me too!!
Naprawdę świetny pomysł, sama myśl porozmawiania z filatelistą z dalekich krajów jest świetna😉
😀
Thanks for info. I wasn't sure how the virtual would work but that gives an insight.
I wasn’t sure either, I’m glad I got the chance to check it out ahead of the event. Glad this was helpful, thanks for watching 😊
Hi Graham, I intend to visit Stampex the virtual show. It is good that it is open 24h a day as these are days I do need to work.
My calendar was totally blocked with holidays for this year, for both London and for the great american Stampshow.
Lucky I am flexible, no travel, staying save and I did enjoy the virtual Stampshow, especially the presentations and the meet and greets.
This was the first virtual show for me and the dealer part could be better, so I am curious how Stampex has organized that part.
I will look you up when I have a chance, our in person meet at Stampex 2018 was short, so let’s take some time to meet virtually at Stampex.
I am thrilled with the current developments, philately online is something that will gain more and more visitors I expect and will also attract new people to the hobby. In the next 15 years or so I do not think it will replace the actual shows, but it will have a place next to actual shows or be part of it. Thank you for this video, it was again very informative.
Groetjes uit Nederland,
Erik
YES please stop by my booth during the show. Its great to have it 24 hours, I remember you joining the APS social hours during your midnight in the Netherlands :). No need for that this time! Thanks for watching Erik, look forward to seeing you there :)
I hope they do this again because I missed it! Also how did I not know about Postcrossing? I just signed up and can’t wait to start sending and receiving postcards from around the world 🌎 thanks for making this video and helping us get a feel for virtual stamp shows. I too really enjoy watching your mail day content and opening packages! 😃
Oh Postcrossing is brilliant. Watch my interview with Samuel West, you will LOVE it even more! 😊
You had me cracking up when you brought Keanu Reeves to attend the Stampex via the Matrix !! I loved this video so much ... I think you have done a great job in giving a preview for the virtual stamp show and also generated a great amount of curiosity .. I would sure “walk” into your booth on one of those days and ya, probably get to chat with you too, maybe “ hangout with a pint of beer “ ;)
Please do! Stop by my booth and offer me a virtual pint 🍺 😊. Hope to see you there!!
Yep I will take the red pill and will be virtually attending ... it'll be interesting to see how this actually works.
Definitely take the red pill! Whatever happens, its going to be an interesting moment for the hobby that I'm looking forward to exploring. :)
You got you colors mixed up
Also, i will be looking up The Punk Philatelist to support our homegrown philatelists
Brilliant! I believe he is also based in Melbourne like yourself. The Digital Philatelist is also from Melbourne.... hmm 🤔 I guess Melbourne is a hot spot for philately
@@ExploringStamps I have now connected with The Digital Philatelist , it is amazing to connect with people from all over the world but to connect with locals with the same passion is something special
looking forward for this! seems intresting :)
It does! I'm looking forward to it as well :)
@@ExploringStamps well graham sse you at your stand ;) need to talk to you about some stamps i need for my collection from the USA i cant find here in europe .. and maybe you can help me find them!!
Graham, got that in my diary now and look forward to some talks. See you there.
Excellent! See you there Michael :)
I personally was disappointed in the APS virtual stamp show, but I do understand that it was put together at the last minute, I will definitely attend the next one. I'm hoping Stampex will be better. It does appear to be well thought out.
Very good video - I will still attend Stampex in person when this pandemic is (hopefully) over but this virtual version looks great - keep up the good work with these posts ts
Thank you Terence! I’m with you, I still want to attend in person, but the virtual world has me intrigued. Let’s see how it works out 🙂. Thanks for watching!
We look forward to seeing you at the virtual show next month and physical Stampex at the BDC in February, Terence.
great one and i hope the timing would be right as we are GMT+8.00 hehehe...but im going to look forward for postcrossing too
Hey, I got that Mozambique giraffe stamp on your wall! :-D
Nice!! It’s a beautiful stamp 👍
I'm really looking forward to this, I hope to be able to get to some of the talks too...
Me as well. Definitely stop in at my booth Karen and say hi 👋
@@ExploringStamps I definitely will, should be lots of fun
Awesome :-)
Thanks for the video!
Thanks for watching 🙂
Look at you rocking some Synthwave like music during the start of the video.
💪😎
Very good interesting.twaksyuo friend
Glad you found it interesting 😀 thanks for watching!
I´m a bit divided about these events. It´s much better than having nothing. But my experiences with such sorts of events is quite different. I had one in the IT in May and it was a bit confusing. What I really miss is to get personal in touch with people. Also presentations are different (I do presentations with different customers for example at webex and you don´t see the reactions). On the other side you can have 200 or more people listening it but you have no good interaction. This is what I like most watching or doing presentations.
When I look at stamps events and remember on events I visited personal I really love to visit booths, look for endless times through letters, albums, searching for stamps and simple have fun. OK, you can do it on the internet as well and if you look at ebay or philasearch or other sources, you find endless material. But it is not the same like you are looking live through the material. So I hope that this shitty virus will dissapear as fast as possible. I fear this won´t happen so fast. In the meantime we have to make the best out of it and such events are the best you can get at the moment. And Suzanne, as organizer is really nice and enthusiastic - thanks for the good video.
Totally with you here. I could sit for hours at a booth and sift through postal covers, such an enjoyable part of the stamp show experience and not the same as scrolling through listings. Let's see how this one goes, I think the PTS have done a great job in organizing it so far. Maybe next time there will be an option for using a VR headset to experience the show ;). Thanks for watching Oliver!
I am so excited! I’m registered and ready. But what is a smiler sheet?
Smiler Sheets are special edition generic sheets issues by Royal Mail in partnership with Stampex. Spring 2020 saw the issue of the very last Stampex Smiler Sheet but you can still buy this, as well as back issues at the show, and on the Stampex website - www.thepts.net/store/p1/2020_Smiler_Sheets_.html
Stampex...If you see this....If I could make one suggestion ..... Put an ability to create a "calendar" event on the website....Even the registration confirmation via email doesnt supply an "add to calendar" function....I know some will say just do it yourself but if your new(ish) I suspect it might be unlikely they will...Might grab some extra peeps if a calendar event were to pop up as a reminder....I think hobbiests will do it themselves but new blood might pass it by or forget unless they get a friendly reminder....
Got it. Will pass to team. Thanks.
Philately is the darkest of hobbies.
Just kidding 🤣
Hi can you make a show about the Protestant reformation on stamps in particular the 2017 issues commemorating the 500th anniversary since the Protestant movement began, an interesting thing would be to discuss the 2017 Vatican issue of the reformation considering Catholics and Protestants were generally arch enemies and how philately can even bring the worse of enemies together
Looks like a fun time i will try to see as much as I can. Will the talks be recorded in case we miss one so we can watch it later? I had better get started on my list of stamps I am looking for. Will drop by your booth and leave you a message and maybe we can get a pint one day also.
Very good question! Not sure if they are recorded, I will ask the folks at the PTS to find out. Yes please stop by my booth and say hi, Aaron! 🙂👍
Yes, we will record the talks which can be viewed after the live schedule. We must do this as some of talks will only hold 3,000 attendees so live attendance is on a first come first served basis.
It is a good opportunity to evaluate my old stamps from before 1940. Could you guide me what is the best way to do it in this event? Thank you
Have you researched most of the stamps in your collection?
Hey Graham I was wondering is a stamp lost any value by taking it out of older stamp collection, and do a stamp lost value by the old hinges in the back of the stamp.
Hi Natasha, stamps that have a hinge or were once hinged will have lost some value versus stamps that were never hinged. It’s okay to remove stamps out of old albums and place them in newer/better storage options, as long as you don’t damage the stamp in the process you will be fine 👍
@@ExploringStamps Thanks for the information I really appreciate it, I have learned a lot from watching your videos.looking out for more . have a great day.
I hope that works out as well as it sounds. Will there be server connection problems? I have a feeling or
belief that there will be with people accessing the show. I have encountered issues like that in accessing
other get togethers like this. I hope this works great.
Hi Murph, the way we have build Virtual Stampex means that the only constraint is on the internet speed / bandwith of the visitor. We also done our best to minimise file sizes for downloads into the Virtual Briefcase in case some visitors have slower internet speeds but provided your speed allows you to watch a youtube channel like Exploring Stamps, you should be fine. I hope you enjoy the show. Suzanne @ the PTS.
There is one big flaw with the virtual stamp show, people also like to sell stamps on the spot, with the virtual stamp show that is impossible only favouring the stamp dealer and not the visitor.
Thanks for the insight into Stampex. FYI, I've tried numerous times to register on multiple devices with no success; I continually receive an error message indicating a problem with submitting the form and to review the highlight fields, none of which are highlighted. Even tried sending an email to info@theepts.net email address to no avail. I never received a response. With regard to your question about what I think of virtual stamp shows, I thought the APS virtual stamp show was a great success and enjoyed it thoroughly.
Hi Gary. you are receiving an error message because you can only register once per email address. You registered on the 20th August. I have asked our tech team to change the error message so it is clearer to people who have already registered. I hope this helps. We look forward to seeing you at the show. Suzanne
@@suzannerae1 Thank you Suzanne, I see the message now that advises my registration was successful. Originally, it was confusing as you said. BTW, loved the story about you that Graham did over a year ago. Your work looks amazing!
Wow, Suzanne to the rescue... how’s that for service Gary 😄. Thanks for watching and looking forward to seeing you there!
Exploring Stamps Just great! ..........and all thanks to your Vlog 3. Look forward to seeing you at Stampex. BTW, love how you are educating me and others about all the philatelic websites and blogs out there. 👍🏻👍🏻
Hi, do you know if the talks will be recorded for later viewing?
That is a very good question, I do not know. Let's see if we can find an answer in the coming days from someone at the PTS.
Exploring Stamps Thanks
Yes, we will record the talks which can be viewed after the live schedule. We must do this as some of talks will only hold 3,000 attendees so live attendance is on a first come first served basis.
Not sure. Part of the fun of going to Stampex (at least for me) is being able to hunt through boxes of stamps, postal covers etc. If this is now part of a virtual show then whats the difference between this and say buying on eBay?
Hi Alex, many booths will indeed link to their eBay stores but you will have the opportunity to see new stock and offers not available on other platforms. There is also the added advantage of being able to chat live with booth reps via text, audio and video similar to asking a dealer at Stampex "do you have any..." to find there is always some stock hidden away, or something the dealer can find quickly for you. It is quite a different concept although mirrored as close as we can. We will continue to make developments to try to meet all collector needs. We hope to see you there and welcome your feedback. We also look forward to welcoming you back to physical Stampex at the BDC in 2021. Suzanne, PTS Chairman
Isobel, any relation to Edward Klempka of the British Society of Russian Philately? (Sadly recently passed away.)
His daughter. She is an inspiration. Talented, passionate and kind. We are so lucky to have her on the team. We miss Edward dearly.
@@suzannerae1 Thank you. I never met Edward but I have been a member of BSRP for some time. Please send her my regards.
Graham, great that you put this under our noses! However, their security s*cks. I already emailed them, but you wouldn't by any chance have a direct contact that you could discuss this with?
Hi Jan, I’ll reach out to them and see if I can get someone in contact with you here
Please could you email your concerns to chairman@thepts.net so I can pick this up with the team? Thank you.
Hi sir i m from india i have old stamps like india stamps and international stamps i want to sale it so u can help me sir
hello
Hi 👋 🙂
l have meny stemp l am in burma .
Hi Bro! Could you give me a couple of the #philately stickers???
Hmmm 🤔 maybe, email me your postal address: explorestamps@gmail.con 👍
Am I the only one that looks at this and feels it is just 2D stockphotos with photoshoped banners?
I mean I get the concept of trying to do a virtual show but here it looks way too much as if time was spend on the concept but not on the content.I am puzzled as to why a simpler and more interactive website wasn t made instead. I will suspect this is due to funding so it is better than nothing. Hopefully they still have time to add introduction videos linked on youtube to all the people/companies participating.
Many booths have videos embedded in their booths - I heard one stand has created 50+ videos guiding collectors through different areas of specialism. It is dependent on the booth type, but some will have a vast range of links and documents you can explore and even add to your Virtual Briefcase to take away after the live event. There is a welcome video on arrival and we have live announcements taking place throughout the show which you'll see whether you are in the Booth Hall, Spink Auditorium, Museum of Philately or the Lobby - a little like a loudspeaker announcement at a physical show. One thing Graham wasn't able to show was the integrated video chat function on each booth (the build will be complete on Monday). Without any need for software download, booth holders can chat via text, audio and even video with visitors. This interactive part of the show is an incredible opportunity for visitors to "meet" dealers, auction houses, chaps like Graham etc. Even the Stampex Talks have a chatroom function allowing for real time Q&A. We have many more developments to explore and welcome all feedback. We do encourage visitors to sign up to the Stampex Newsletter (www.stampexinternational.com/signup) and also follow the PTS on social media @ptsandstampex to keep up to date with the latest news about the show and the boothholders, including videos! We hope you enjoy the show.
