I really appreciated the part about how we can sometimes get in the headspace that whatever car will make our lives better. We love these machines and they can definitely add happiness to our lives, but there are definitely other things and people that matter a lot and we should never lose site of those things
My first ever desire to get a BMW came from Need For Speed: Most Wanted, that bmw was iconic, coming from a lower middle class family I knew they are out of my reach, I'm in a position where I can more than likely finance a F80 now and have to weigh the pro's and cons, and at 32 I might even just yet, especially since housing seems out of reach, it's something the wife and kids can get into, they are practical, fast, sleek, reliable etc... It would be interesting to see the comparison between my old E85 fed Evo 8 and the BMW, my evo was punchy but only once spooled up but handled like NO ONES business, as for reliability, I would love to say I never had any issues, but it honestly gave me PTSD - between bell housing issues, balancing belt snapping and taking out crank and cam sensors and having to upgrade to a twin plate racing clutch because it would shred single plates, it was EXPENSIVE, but the love I had for that machine was INSANE, you've never seen a grown man sob the way I did the day that I sold it.

My M4 has been rock solid and I still don’t have a single cabin rattle. Love the solid chassis and the instant response. The looks are timeless and the car looks great from every angle. I’ve been driving BMW’s for such a long time, and the f80 definitely is a bucket list car. I can tell you that nearly every bucket list car doesn’t live up to the hype, but if it comes close, that’s major praise. Keep on making the excellent content. I got me a 2018 F82 Yas Marina Blue in manual. Special ordered it in 2017 and coming upon 6 year ownership next month. Best car i ever owned. And you're right, looks wise G82 doesnt hold a candle to the F8X. In my opinion its the best looking M car BMW ever made.
I agree! You can argue performance, sound, drive ability, legacy etc of any of the generations but it’s very hard to argue the looks of these cars. I think the only car that holds a candle aesthetically is the e9X and the f8X just looks like a more complete version of the e9X almost like they had a final Life Cycle Impulse. Plus the cars are getting bigger and bigger and I truly believe the f80 was as big as I would ever want a 3/4 series car. For the money of the G8X and the size etc it’s almost hard to argue not just getting a used f90 m5 I’m not a G8X hater they’ve grown on me completely, my main argument is for the money you’re not gonna get a better car.
@f80_Trevor Yup. The E9x is gorgeous and the F8X felt like a refinement of that design. The G8X has an amazing and certainly superior interior but it is simply too large for an M3/4.

the nice thing about going stage 2 with BM3 is that you can switch between maps by holding the RES button on the steering wheel with the car off but the power on, on slow commutes in traffic home I will put it on the stock BMW tune before I leave the office so I can just cruise in traffic on cruise control
I have a 370z and have put so much money into it... But before that car, I wanted an E92 M3, but was never able to get into one. Now, after 4 years of owning my Z and everything I've done with it, I'm starting to have a major itch for a BMW again. The F80/F82 have been a car I've wanted to dive into in the past, but now feels like it's nearing that time again. I absolutely cannot wait to be able to pull the trigger. These cars look amazing, and honestly, the bang for your buck proposition seems among the highest for everything that these cars can provide!

I had a 350z then got a Nismo 370z. Then got a Yas Marina Blue F82 in manual. Incredible machine and never regretted it for a day. Best car I ever owned.
@DJYAMIN107 Performance and handling its a night and day difference. The M4 is turbocharged and has 75 extra horsepower so it takes off like a rocket. I recall the handling being better but I owned the Z 10 years ago so I don't recall how that car felt. The build quality is also night and day but this should be obvious as we are comparing BMW to Nissan.
That's beautiful. The color, and those rims. wow. Very nice stance also. Love that fat steering wheel too and the front splitter. Just dope. Its a timeless design with a sporty flare that only an M3 can offer. Just wow! Out of all M cars, choosing this one was absolutely the correct choice. What I like about this model in particular is that the area between the two front grills is a clean line with the color of the car separating the grills. In newer models that line is broken down by connecting the two grills, which doesn't look as good. But this one doesn't have it and it looks amazing this way, like a modernized old school m3. it just makes sense. Its perfect.

downpipes and stage 2 is a different ballgame for sure, my N55 powered M235i has full bolt ons including exhaust, downpipe, stage 2 and it will pull my buddys S55 powered M2 comp from a 40 roll thats on a stock downpipe with the cs tune. so imagine how much faster your S55 will be with full bolt ons downpipe and a stage 2

I find it impossible to sell my F80 M3. Tried selling it numerous times. It's modded and impressed by it every day. Can't compare it to Porsches bc they're unique, but they can give many cars a run for it's money.

I’m an Aaron Judge fan so I feel for you guys, I am a Braves fan by nature being so close to Georgia was a royals fan for years as a kid because of George Brett and Greg Holland is from my town. Love the Blue Jays colors and logos so I always have some of their stuff. Just got my F80 M3, also 2017. Got it at 50k miles for 43k. Very well maintained single owner. Had receipts and reports for every maintenance done on it. Going to leave it stock for 3-4months before I mod it.
The F8x platform has aged beautifully. With the shitty state of the current car market, I have no doubt these will continue to hold their value well for the next 3-5 years IMHO...
We’re slowly starting to see the market go up just a tad, for a while you could pick up a good f8X for 35-40k and now we’re seeing those cars being listed 40-50. Mine is somewhat higher mileage but I do plan on toning it back and driving the f30 more to preserve the mileage a little. I love driving it though so I’m not too worried
I feel like the noises you're referring to how it's like a 370z or civic-ky is probably from the Active Sound design. I'm not entirely sure if you've turned it off, but from the video, it feels like you can hear the droning noise. Personally, I've turned mine off and it's less noisy imo.

Hey Trevor. I have a mineral grey 2020 330i with the m sport package (43kmiles). I love every aspect of it, but recently I’ve fallen in love with the f80 m3. That being said, my dealership has one for sale very similar to yours, same year, same color, not comp. 21k miles and they’re asking just under 53. If I were to make out on my trade in, I would 100% jump on it. But being that interest rates suck and my insurance is quoted roughly $430/month. I currently pay 300 for my 330i🙃. I know that sucks but I’m 20 and fucked up bad when I was 17, so now I am paying for it with my BMW addiction and the insurance rates that come with it. Anyways, I’m just torn. I like what you say towards the end about “just get it” but given those circumstances, do you think I should wait a year or so? Or would that not make sense to wait because low mileage f80 are getting harder to find I feel like I should just go buy the thing 😂

They are 2 totally different cars. E92 m3 is a wonderful choice and so is the f80. I’d say the better part of owning f8X is how easy it is to modify these cars between the s55 platform and the aftermarket support. The s65 e9x is very extensive and expensive to build but an amazing car none the less.
I wouldn’t worry too much about it. I just did it to not even worry about it, I’ve heard of low mileage cars spinning the hub but its always people I know beat the shit out of their cars
G80 Front Grill Kills me. I’ll stick with my f80 Marina blue. Don’t worry , I have a good feeling this color way 10 years from now on the f80 will be unique. Just keep the title clean. 🤞🏻
The older generations are always much better in every way. ❤ accept outright speed, which is irrelevant to me. I just wish BMW would stop long enough to build a good engine that didn’t have oil leaks and worse issues all the time with every generation. I thought about trading for a G80 a couple months back. But if it means not having my f80 then I’m not willing to do it, I have to keep this car. It’s to sentimental to me, it was the first M car introduced after I started taking interest in BMW, this exact car was sitting in the show room mocking me while signing papers on my f30 328 color and all.

I had a E92 and loved the V8 sound, I absolutely love the F80's looks but man that engine sounds like shit. I was on the fence of buying an F80 (and still am) but the only reason I haven't jumped on it is because of the engine sound. I think I would get annoyed quick

F80 is a nicer faster looking version that still offers a great driving experience and g80 is just really good at being really fast and comfortable. The f80 is kinda the perfect bridge between outdated and the future. They all have a great purpose
I had an 18 f80 M3 for 5 months - the car is boring, dime a dozen and sounds like absolute trash. I dont miss it one bit (and thats after 15k in Carbon and performance parts).

Factory carbon hood, factory carbon roof, factory carbon drive shaft, factory active aero... Better steering feel, better exhaust note and the best part is you dont see a ton of them. This car gets WAY more looks than my f80 ever did and its in stock form.

the nice thing about going stage 2 with BM3 is that you can switch between maps by holding the RES button on the steering wheel with the car off but the power on, on slow commutes in traffic home I will put it on the stock BMW tune before I leave the office so I can just cruise in traffic on cruise control
I have a 370z and have put so much money into it...
But before that car, I wanted an E92 M3, but was never able to get into one.
Now, after 4 years of owning my Z and everything I've done with it, I'm starting to have a major itch for a BMW again. The F80/F82 have been a car I've wanted to dive into in the past, but now feels like it's nearing that time again.
I absolutely cannot wait to be able to pull the trigger. These cars look amazing, and honestly, the bang for your buck proposition seems among the highest for everything that these cars can provide!

I had a 350z then got a Nismo 370z. Then got a Yas Marina Blue F82 in manual. Incredible machine and never regretted it for a day. Best car I ever owned.

@DJYAMIN107 Performance and handling its a night and day difference. The M4 is turbocharged and has 75 extra horsepower so it takes off like a rocket. I recall the handling being better but I owned the Z 10 years ago so I don't recall how that car felt. The build quality is also night and day but this should be obvious as we are comparing BMW to Nissan.

That's beautiful. The color, and those rims. wow. Very nice stance also. Love that fat steering wheel too and the front splitter. Just dope. Its a timeless design with a sporty flare that only an M3 can offer. Just wow! Out of all M cars, choosing this one was absolutely the correct choice. What I like about this model in particular is that the area between the two front grills is a clean line with the color of the car separating the grills. In newer models that line is broken down by connecting the two grills, which doesn't look as good. But this one doesn't have it and it looks amazing this way, like a modernized old school m3. it just makes sense. Its perfect.

my N55 powered M235i has full bolt ons including exhaust, downpipe, stage 2 and it will pull my buddys S55 powered M2 comp from a 40 roll thats on a stock downpipe with the cs tune. so imagine how much faster your S55 will be with full bolt ons downpipe and a stage 2

I find it impossible to sell my F80 M3. Tried selling it numerous times. It's modded and impressed by it every day. Can't compare it to Porsches bc they're unique, but they can give many cars a run for it's money.

Just got my F80 M3, also 2017. Got it at 50k miles for 43k. Very well maintained single owner. Had receipts and reports for every maintenance done on it. Going to leave it stock for 3-4months before I mod it.

Gloves is a little extreme for this kind of driving, but the review was great.
it’s 40 degrees with a windchill down to 30 and sometimes less. I don’t wear gloves typically but it’s cold and I have my windows down.

The F8x platform has aged beautifully. With the shitty state of the current car market, I have no doubt these will continue to hold their value well for the next 3-5 years IMHO...
We’re slowly starting to see the market go up just a tad, for a while you could pick up a good f8X for 35-40k and now we’re seeing those cars being listed 40-50. Mine is somewhat higher mileage but I do plan on toning it back and driving the f30 more to preserve the mileage a little. I love driving it though so I’m not too worried

I feel like the noises you're referring to how it's like a 370z or civic-ky is probably from the Active Sound design. I'm not entirely sure if you've turned it off, but from the video, it feels like you can hear the droning noise. Personally, I've turned mine off and it's less noisy imo.
It’s definitely the low rpm droning, the “ricey” sound of the s55 I was referring too. I’ll have to try that out

Hey Trevor. I have a mineral grey 2020 330i with the m sport package (43kmiles). I love every aspect of it, but recently I’ve fallen in love with the f80 m3. That being said, my dealership has one for sale very similar to yours, same year, same color, not comp. 21k miles and they’re asking just under 53.
If I were to make out on my trade in, I would 100% jump on it. But being that interest rates suck and my insurance is quoted roughly $430/month. I currently pay 300 for my 330i🙃. I know that sucks but I’m 20 and fucked up bad when I was 17, so now I am paying for it with my BMW addiction and the insurance rates that come with it.
Anyways, I’m just torn. I like what you say towards the end about “just get it” but given those circumstances, do you think I should wait a year or so? Or would that not make sense to wait because low mileage f80 are getting harder to find I feel like I should just go buy the thing 😂
If you want it get it. But there will be f80’s for sale next year as well, you won’t regret it if you get one.

They are 2 totally different cars. E92 m3 is a wonderful choice and so is the f80. I’d say the better part of owning f8X is how easy it is to modify these cars between the s55 platform and the aftermarket support. The s65 e9x is very extensive and expensive to build but an amazing car none the less.

I had a E92 and loved the V8 sound, I absolutely love the F80's looks but man that engine sounds like shit. I was on the fence of buying an F80 (and still am) but the only reason I haven't jumped on it is because of the engine sound. I think I would get annoyed quick
It sounds really good at high rpm but low rpm ehhh. I wouldn’t say it sounds like shit when you get the right exhaust set up

@@LongRangeDesertGroupX e92’s are amazing. After driving e92/f8X/G80 I’d say the e92 is great for enjoying a driving experience. F80 is a nicer faster looking version that still offers a great driving experience and g80 is just really good at being really fast and comfortable. The f80 is kinda the perfect bridge between outdated and the future. They all have a great purpose

I had an 18 f80 M3 for 5 months - the car is boring, dime a dozen and sounds like absolute trash. I dont miss it one bit (and thats after 15k in Carbon and performance parts).

@@f80_Trevor Alfa Romeo giulia quadrifoglio --- By far a better car. 510hp, v6 twin turbo, RWD (a tune puts it to 600+)... Factory carbon hood, factory carbon roof, factory carbon drive shaft, factory active aero... Better steering feel, better exhaust note and the best part is you dont see a ton of them. This car gets WAY more looks than my f80 ever did and its in stock form.
