Lumix S5IIX. High ISO test

- In my work, both in documentary and in advertising, I use high sensitivity. I often work at 4000 ISO (dual ISO - minimal impact on image quality compared to 640 ISO in V-Log). And even if I raise the ISO to 6400, it doesn't care about the quality drop at all.
When the Lumix S5IIX came into my hands, the matter was obvious. I want to test with different sensitivities.
In the video you will see both V-Log and CineD2. Sensitivity from ISO 4000 to 51200.
The Lumix S5IIX is a great camera for the documentary filmmaker. Although I admit that it worked great during the implementation of the ad, which you will soon see.
The card records ALL-Intra in 400 bitrate, 4K, 4:2:2 - like S1H. This is what, for example, Netflix needs to produce movies. The S5II does not have this on the card.
To an external ProRes SSD, e.g. 5.8K, 4:2:2, 1.6 Gbps (bitrate). On the Atomos Ninja external recorder, we can record in ProRes and ProRes RAW.
Blackmagic Assist - record BRAW (Blackmagic RAW).
Depending on the project, you can choose the best option for post-production.
I love working on full frame, thanks to which high sensitivities allow filming in difficult lighting conditions. The perfect solution for your document. In addition, bright lenses, such as 24mm f/1.8, 35mm f/1.8 or 50mm f/1.8.
During the Lumix S5IIX event and premiere in London, I had the pleasure of doing a short test of this camera at high sensitivities. In the video you will see the original shots straight from the camera. I recorded in V-Log and Cined2.
The video seen here was loaded by me from an exported Apple ProRes 422 file in 4K.
Idealne rozwiązanie do dokumentu.
W filmie obejrzycie oryginalne ujęcia prosto z aparatu. Nagrywałem w V-Log oraz Cined2.
Film tutaj widziany został przeze mnie załadowany z wyeksportowanego pliku Apple ProRes 422 w 4K.
Good test 👍
Splendid work ! Big GG
Footage looks 👍
Beautiful
Lumix finally cracked the ISO code
Thanks for the test! I'm also rocking the LUMIX S5 II X, and I'm eager to give it a shot with higher ISO. What's your go-to noise reduction software?
See you tomorrow at the Beiks media show!
I use Neat Video for noise reduction. It is very good tool.
Thanks, buddy, I got it all sorted out from your review video! 😄@@LightKeeper
Thank you for the tests. Is here a possibility to download the originals so I can pixel peep?
Choose 3-5 clips and I will send you originals.
Seems like ISO 12800 is quite useable for me
Hello beautiful video, can I ask you where you bought the subtitles?
Thank you
Thanks. I introduced some of them myself (the simple ones). These animated from: www.motionvfx.com/store,mtitle-cinematic-2,p3561.html
In your video you explain “after noise reduction” does this mean camera has a function for this or is this with external software? If so what type of software?
I use Neat Video
@@LightKeeper is there a specific section on your video that shows what it’s like without noise filters?
can i know how to activate the dual iso in photo mode? i still see a lot of noise in 6400iso. TIA.
It works only in film mode
@@LightKeeper thanks for the info.
I put the iso on automatic. he doesn't go over 6 thousand. what am I doing wrong? I know that the camera's maximum iso is 51 thousand.
Find in menu option to change limit
Hi Sir, For night shoot does CineD2 works better than VLog ?
Certainly LOG has a greater spread and greater noise in the shadows. If you can't remove noise in the program with a special plugin, it's better to record in CineD. However, when you have large differences in lights, it is worth using LOG. I generally record in LOG, always.
What about the natural profile ? Did you ever try it for high iso exposures ?
