Plot of video,on my opinion: He glimpses an image that compels him not to stop, but to reach it. He floats to the enchanting unknown and passing through it, acquires the true meaning of his existence. Admiring all their thorns and trough indulging his sometimes unreasonable, curiosity, he comes to meet his fate. Brings with him the light that he kept all this time and did not turn away from him, despite the temptations. He saving himself for the only thing that imperceptible on the sideview. But the light that he carried with him and within himself became a beacon for many. Including for those who have lost their brightness and become only a mirror of a shadow, an echo of darkness.

Sirens it's a metaphor. In ancient greek mythology the sirens were beautiful creatures trying to lure you close to them by singing so beautifully and harm you. Sirens here to me symbolizes all the temptations of life. How beautiful they seem but how much harm they cause you in the end. "But I just wanna hear your melody" Symbolizes he just wanna hear god's voice, be assured of his existence, he wants to find answers. next, "I call and I can hear you sing, but oh it's only my echo" so all this time, when he would call out, and he would get answers, it would be himself "answering" back to him. Not "god" . Honestly the message from the whole song , to me is as deep as it gets but anyone can interpret it however they want.

When they started partaking in their object of addiction, they thought they could keep it under control and otherwise have a normal, great life with their partner ("I thought it was destiny; I was gonna conquer the sky, then plummet to the ground and be anchored by your side"). Then they realize it's not that easy and they get pulled in by their fix ("But every time I found myself upon new heights, I would climb again and leave you in the moonlight"). Upon realizing their addiction, they reflect on it and how they got to this point ("I know life is a journey, but what happened to me? Tell me, why was I in such a hurry? I don't know"). Eventually, they project their frustration onto their partner, who ultimately had to leave them for self-preservation because said partner couldn't pull the subject of the song out of their addiction. The partner could only do so much. From the subject's perspective, their partner "gave up" on them ("I know life is a journey, but you gave up on me early..."). I suppose they could be talking to God at this point too, feeling like God has abandoned them. They suggest that if only their partner/God was still there, they might be able to break free of the addiction. They plead for help and mercy, but their partner is already gone or God doesn't seem to answer ("Show the way 'cause it's blurry, show the way and your mercy to me; Nothing there and I'm worried"). It's a really sad song, but so well done. It's my second favorite on the album behind WTSE.

Starset is so underrated.... Edit: everyone is like "oh they have this many views" yeah no shit I can read, what I mean is they need more, they are not as big and up there as others, underrated isn't "bad" its in the word, "rated under than what they deserve".
Not really. They're fairly big. As someone who listens to a ton of metal there's plenty of bands which are not as big as starset but deserve as much recognition.
Starset and their creative team is so great at coordinating the visuals in their videos with the music. Another favorite moment of mine is in the "Stratosphere" when the camera hits the ground right on the beat toward the end. So satisfying.
Starset is the only band that are flawless, they don't go wrong, they're the meaning of perfection. They could film and they cold do anime! I really really love this band
Echo is probably my favourite song from starset. It helped me and my family grieve for my gran and it’s also the name of my pet snake! This bad always one ups themselves and this music video is an example. Keep it up guys!!

Some are difficult to figure, one song is truly Christian and then another makes you wonder. Only heard this one so far. I don't keep track of the dove awards, but there might be some indication there.

Echo is probably my favorite Starset song, and this is probably one of the best music videos I’ve seen in a long time. Here’s my interpretation: This is all taking place in a distance future. The world is a hyper-realistic digital world, basically a video game, except it runs on its own and the characters all have their own lives and societies. That’s how advanced technology gets, to the point people can create their own world’s. The main character is an “Echo unit” that just goes by the name Echo. It is meant to repair the lighthouse, so it has to go on a crazy journey through all the different terrains of this world to find it. It’s basically a chosen one quest of sorts. Every new Echo has to go to the lighthouse to repair it, then the old unit dies and the journey repeats. I also imagine the people of this world view the Echo units as a sort of god/chosen one figure, hence the words “I used to be divinity, I used to be a god in my mind” and the presence of the statue to Echo in one of the background pieces.
I feel like the song is about someone that got their heartbroken/loved one died. "why were you in such a hurry?" , "Why did you give up on me early?" . The line "I used to be a god in my mind" i think reflects the fact that we all think we're the main character ,it reflects that when we feel good,we feel like gods. Maybe its something to do with his love life,when you love someobody you feel strong. "All these sirens sing for me, but I just want to hear your melody" is showing that he loved her and cant replace her.

I can't believe it took me so long to realize that in the final scene when only the white lines of the robot are seen, it's actually forming a happy face...it looks so assuring, it's beautiful ☺
This is a very fluid and pretty animation! The color pallet isn't an eyebleed and the amount of detail is really impressive! Massive kudos to the creator. And what it represents? I kinda have a grasp. I'm not gonna spoil anything I rate this 10/10. The artwork really do be slappin'

There are few songs that invoke this kind of emotion in me, and even fewer with music videos that are even more powerful. I've loved starset since the beginning, but this song is hands down my favorite of theirs.
It speaks to the greatness of starset when some people say this is their favorite song by them while others (including me) think this is maybe the 6th best song off the album.

I loved the music video and it painted a different picture what I originally thought, the video tells a story of a person searching for something better a "light or guidance". When I first listened to the song I thought it was a song about a failing relationship, as always Starset has songs with multiple meanings, they are so great, love this song in particular!

Seriously deep lyrics here, to me it has a spiritual energy about it and I interpret it as a story- Going forward under your own idea of understanding of what is good and what is all important-unknowing that you are slowly drifting into chaos and emptiness, while the One is watching your every move- silent, but present, waiting for you to call to Him. Then you start to realize whilst following that "siren call" of success and control, you are becoming lost and indifferent in your life's journey. You then reflect on what your purpose has been and why despite your achievements, you feel lost. The One then asks why did you rush off to obtain worldly gains and give up on Him and your spirit. You then become desperate for a way out of the void, calling out to God for direction. God understands that life is full of pitfalls and fading satisfaction, but asks why you gave up on knowing Him and yourself so easily. You then realize that voice you were searching for was His, but has been drowned out by the world. Life is just a blink in existence, your spirit goes on to infinity, what you have now, all the success, money, fame, friends will be nothingness when you leave mortality, what matters is where your spirit ends up, with Him or apart from Him. Of course all their songs are left up to your interpretation, this is just mine.
The amazing thing about starset is that the lyrics always hit so deeply that I'm always emotionally invested while I can feel the energy and emotion flow through the beat. This band is truly wonderful

Not really. They're fairly big. As someone who listens to a ton of metal there's plenty of bands which are not as big as starset but deserve as much recognition.

Starset and their creative team is so great at coordinating the visuals in their videos with the music. Another favorite moment of mine is in the "Stratosphere" when the camera hits the ground right on the beat toward the end. So satisfying.

Echo is probably my favourite song from starset. It helped me and my family grieve for my gran and it’s also the name of my pet snake! This bad always one ups themselves and this music video is an example. Keep it up guys!!

Some are difficult to figure, one song is truly Christian and then another makes you wonder. Only heard this one so far. I don't keep track of the dove awards, but there might be some indication there.

Echo is probably my favorite Starset song, and this is probably one of the best music videos I’ve seen in a long time.
Here’s my interpretation: This is all taking place in a distance future. The world is a hyper-realistic digital world, basically a video game, except it runs on its own and the characters all have their own lives and societies. That’s how advanced technology gets, to the point people can create their own world’s. The main character is an “Echo unit” that just goes by the name Echo. It is meant to repair the lighthouse, so it has to go on a crazy journey through all the different terrains of this world to find it. It’s basically a chosen one quest of sorts. Every new Echo has to go to the lighthouse to repair it, then the old unit dies and the journey repeats.
I also imagine the people of this world view the Echo units as a sort of god/chosen one figure, hence the words “I used to be divinity, I used to be a god in my mind” and the presence of the statue to Echo in one of the background pieces.
Good interpretation though..................
I feel like the song is about someone that got their heartbroken/loved one died. "why were you in such a hurry?" , "Why did you give up on me early?" . The line "I used to be a god in my mind" i think reflects the fact that we all think we're the main character ,it reflects that when we feel good,we feel like gods. Maybe its something to do with his love life,when you love someobody you feel strong. "All these sirens sing for me, but I just want to hear your melody" is showing that he loved her and cant replace her.

Truely a breath of fresh air when it comes to music. A mix of Rock, Pop, and Electronic that is wholly unique.
These guys are so much different from anything else. Between their book, and setting their music videos with a galactic theme, they have incredible creative talent.
I can't believe it took me so long to realize that in the final scene when only the white lines of the robot are seen, it's actually forming a happy face...it looks so assuring, it's beautiful ☺
This is a very fluid and pretty animation! The color pallet isn't an eyebleed and the amount of detail is really impressive! Massive kudos to the creator.

There are few songs that invoke this kind of emotion in me, and even fewer with music videos that are even more powerful. I've loved starset since the beginning, but this song is hands down my favorite of theirs.
It speaks to the greatness of starset when some people say this is their favorite song by them while others (including me) think this is maybe the 6th best song off the album.

Why do your songs all maintain the ability just smack the shit out of my feelings? I could listen to pretty much any starset song a million times and still feel it the same way i did the first time i heard it.
I loved the music video and it painted a different picture what I originally thought, the video tells a story of a person searching for something better a "light or guidance". When I first listened to the song I thought it was a song about a failing relationship, as always Starset has songs with multiple meanings, they are so great, love this song in particular!
The shield over the entrance at around 1:25 has the symbol from the original echo video.

I freaking love this song! especially the electronic elements of the music.
Seriously deep lyrics here, to me it has a spiritual energy about it and I interpret it as a story- Going forward under your own idea of understanding of what is good and what is all important-unknowing that you are slowly drifting into chaos and emptiness, while the One is watching your every move- silent, but present, waiting for you to call to Him.
Then you start to realize whilst following that "siren call" of success and control, you are becoming lost and indifferent in your life's journey.
You then reflect on what your purpose has been and why despite your achievements, you feel lost.
The One then asks why did you rush off to obtain worldly gains and give up on Him and your spirit.
You then become desperate for a way out of the void, calling out to God for direction.
God understands that life is full of pitfalls and fading satisfaction, but asks why you gave up on knowing Him and yourself so easily.
You then realize that voice you were searching for was His, but has been drowned out by the world.
Life is just a blink in existence, your spirit goes on to infinity, what you have now, all the success, money, fame, friends will be nothingness when you leave mortality, what matters is where your spirit ends up, with Him or apart from Him.
Of course all their songs are left up to your interpretation, this is just mine.
