The problem is not the mud grapplers. The best sand tires are 1) paddle tires 2) cut boggers 3) stock boggers 4) mud grapplers. When people complain about high traction tires in sand, what they are really complaining about is 1) too small of tire. 2) too heavy of vehicle 3) open diffs 4) not enough power 5) not enough driving skill to air down and maintain appropriate momentum for the slope and how soft the sand is.
The reason people get stuck in the sand is they have no throttle control. Mud tires generate more traction but driver needs a little feel for what the tires are doing. A little tip without limited slip or lockers, ride the brake pedal firmly to prevent all the power going to the tires with no grip.
I agree! I thought to try the brake, but I had already dug down pretty deep. This was the first time it has even spun in the soft sand and it caught me off guard
Got a 2500 duramax and go to the beach and even tow trailers on the beach sometimes too. Pismo beach gets very washed up during high tide with super loose sand and sometimes having to go up little slopes to avoid being washed by the tide. Have you had experience of graps on a heavier truck. I think they would dig too much.
@@jpracing_fab1348 I had 37 mud Graps on a 6.7 Powerstroke and they were solid on the beach. If you spin the tires they will definitely dig, but if you are smooth they do just fine. I pulled out people all the time with that setup and would just recommend airing down to avoid getting in a situation where you start spinning. Once you stop moving stop spinning and digging if you do get stuck.

mud grapplers are good in sand! just make sure u have a posi and your fine

Did you make a video of you putting the leveling kit on the bronco?
How did you mount your spare wheel? I have a 33 with alcoa wheel and the only way i can mount it is backwards.
I bought a pair of 2in wheel spacers and used one of them on the spare. The other one isn’t used. It might even been 1.5in

I go to peters point, American beach and Amelia island state park a lot lately. I’m living nearby at the moment
What’s your tire pressure on the sand?
I recommend getting down in the ballpark of 20psi or less for soft sand, but the Bronco has done so well at full (35) psi that I haven’t aired down.
